About halfway through the treatment, the burning sensation AFTER urinating came back and it was horrible. I kept taking the generic version of Flagyl that my regular doctor gave me, and the ER Dr.
Avatar m tn In month #2, I saw the second urologist and upon my suggestion, he prescribed three days of Diflucan for possible yeast (although he didn’t think I had yeast). He also thoroughly examined my prostate and found no enlargement or other abnormality. None of the medications has worked. Since then, I have tried: Yogurt, Coconut oil, Miconazole 2%, and I have also tried LEAVING IT ALONE for a week or more.

Avatar n tn I have tried dandruff shampoo and have taken a dose of oral diflucan (for an unrelated condition) since I first noticed the problem, and neither have helped. The spot is about the size of an egg (maybe a little larger--right on the crown of my head), and it feels just like a sunburn. I first noticed the problem about 2 months after giving birth, and it was only mildly irritating for several months. In the last month, it has become more tender and for a few days was more itchy.
Avatar f tn It can be treated but it commonly has recurrences also and there are no home remedies for psoriasis. So a regular treatment is required for this. Treatment options include Ointment and creams containing coal tar, dithranol (anthralin), corticosteroids like desoximetasone (Topicort), vitamin D3 analogues (for example, calcipotriol), and retinoids,Psoralen+UVA and PUVB therapy. Over time, psoriasis can become resistant to a specific therapy.
Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
Avatar n tn I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.
Avatar f tn these are topical medications. The maintenance therapy for psoriasis requires tapering off of steroids once response and improvement has been achieved as well as the use of moisturizers. A bland and mild cream may be used as daily moisturizer. It is important that you maintain close supervision by your physician when using steroids.Do not stop or taper off medications by yourself.Psoriasis is a chronic disease and the plaques may flare up from time to time.
769242 tn?1234965925 6 months ago I got diagnosted with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and was treated for it with Antibiotics. Ever since I have not had any kind of problems , pain or irritation. But a little over 2 weeks ago I started having a tooth ache and got prescribed Antibiotics again - and I noticed that the Antibiotics I got prescribed was AUGMENTIN (875 mg/ 2 x a day for 10 days). I never took that kind of antibiotics before and was sceptical.
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
Avatar f tn Go to bed at the same time every night, and wake up at the same time every morning, even on weekends. If you’re taking medication for your psoriasis symptoms, talk with your physician about the best time for you to take it, suggests Dr. Weiss. You don’t want your meds to interfere with your sleep. Also, ask your doctor about medications that can relieve itching. Work Exercise Into Your Day Studies show that exercise, especially outdoors, can help fight insomnia.
Avatar f tn I have moderate psoriasis and have been applying topical clobetasol for a few months. It seems to be helping the psoriatic spots, but has caused bruising and thinning of the skin in the surrounding, healthy areas. How do i reverse this? Sunlight helps the psoriasis, but is it dangerous to expose thinning skin to the rays?
Avatar n tn Hi I understand how concerned you are about this. Your mother appears to have a severe form of psoriasis. In cases such as these, topical medications may no longer be effective. I suggest that you discuss with your mother’s physician the effectiveness of PUVA for treating psoriasis especially in severe forms. "PUVA is an acronym for psoralen (a light-sensitizing medication) combined with exposure to ultraviolet light A (UVA). " Source:http://www.psoriasis.

Avatar f tn I went to the doctor after I returned to he states. They looked at my penis, took urine samples and swabbed my throat for strep. They gave me 1g of azithromycin and a shot of cetrifaxon prophylacticly. Also a single tablet of diflucan. Thinking I was going to start to feel better and possibly it was just a fungal or yeast thing, I started spraying tolfnaate onto my penis and groin and gold Bond medical powder all over thighs and penis. That lasted about a week.

Avatar n tn Can you please recommend a topical cream/ointment for a case of psoriasis on the penis head? Thank you.
Avatar m tn I've had a persistent yeast infection almost every month for nearly 3 years. I've had it tested over 5 times so I know it's candida with certainty. Diflucan sometimes helps for a short while, most of the time not at all. I'm trying it once more and thought maybe trying the miconazole suppositories a few days after the Diflucan may help. What's your opinion on this idea? Does anyone have any advice on recurrent yeast infections?
Avatar f tn All three times I, as well as my female partner have tested negative for all STDs. The urologist said to try diflucan first to see if it is a yeast infection, then  if the symptoms persisted, take medication for possible trichomoniasis infection. If that didn't work then he would have to do a visual inspection with a camera scope. I took a test for trichomoniasis (urine NAA test) and that came back negative as well.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I was on nystatin for 6 weeks and then took diflucan for a week and even did an oral nystatin for 7 days. I have just been to my regular doc and wondering if a dentist would be more helpful with this. Are there any over the counter remedies I can do too? Thanks!!
