Diflucan for dermatitis

Common Questions and Answers about Diflucan for dermatitis

diflucan

Avatar n tn Flakes and rash could be due to atopic or contact dermatitis, psoriasis or even eczema. To rule out contact dermatitis you will have to take an allergy test. Psoriasis is an immune system disorder but not an autoimmune disease. The immune cells move from dermis to the epidermis and cause proliferation of cells. This should be considered seriously as a diagnosis. Please consult a sin specialist. Take care!
Avatar f tn Scaling ,inflammation and peeling of the skin of the lower extremities may be due to a contact dermatitis or irritant dermatitis. These forms of dermatitis usually involve the lower extremities and may be due to exposure to unknown irritants or allergens. In your case, would you be able to point out any triggers ? Also, dishydrotic eczema and fungal infections are also differentials. These may present with itchiness, redness, excoriations and scaling or peeling of the skin.
Avatar n tn Nobody has been able to diagnose my issue and so I wanted to throw it out here to see if someone, anywhere has any experience with something like this. Would appreciate any insight. I had unprotected sex with my exgirlfriend one time. The next day she complained of pain when urinating and a rash. Her OBGYN diagnosed UTI and/or Yeast. 2 weeks later i woke up to a slimy sticky skin where my penis and scrotum were somewhat stuck together.
Avatar f tn Hi! If you were my patient, I would recommend treatment for yeast. I would use Diflucan because the vaginal preparations can cause a dermatitis which is worse than the original yeast infection. I sounds like this may have happened to you already. This may sound crazy, but it really helps--Crisco or other vegetable shortening can be really soothing when applied externally while you are waiting for the medication to take effect.
Avatar f tn Hello, From your symptoms nipple dermatitis needs to be ruled out. The other causes are dermatitis or eczema. Wear cotton clothes and apply warm compresses and topical antiseptics on the area. Then apply some topical antibiotics cream like Neosporin. For the eczema, apply hypoallergenic moisturizers and topical steroids after consulting a dermatologist. You can take some antihistaminics to relieve the itching.
Avatar f tn I had requested a prescription of Nystatin 1 million units and Diflucan 200mg for some skin fungus. I only took the meds for 1 month. After the month on the anti-fungals my husband noticed I no longer had my nightly episodes of sleep apnea. It's been 14 months with no re-occurance. Hope this is helpful.
569479 tn?1247244001 Normal anti fungals and over the counter will not work. Ask for diflucan(fluxaconizole). Double check the spelling of that. Also, ask for nystatin cream and extra steroid cream. Take the diflucan and use the nystatin + steroid cream and it will go away. The doctor will tell you nystatin already has steroids in it. But ask for additional steroid cream or it will come back over and over again. It is like a mutant yeast that takes multiple visits to get rid of.
Avatar n tn Hi mandykitkat, Me too I was put on Diflucan and started bleeding three days after even though my period is not due for another week or so. The bleeding was light for the first week and very heavy for the last two weeks. I went to see an OBGYN and she took a simple and blood work...I have very painful and tender womb now still bleeding and awaiting the lab results. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn I've been struggling for five months now with yeast infection symptoms. I have the white discharge (goes back and forth between curd-like and just thickened), SEVERE itching, and my vulva has gotten really red. The first month, I took OTC Monistat and it went away. The second time (exactly one month later), I took the Monistat again. The symptoms got a little better but never went completely away.
Avatar n tn I've been having a burning, extremely itchy rash of sorts on my upper lip for the past two years. I've treated it with anti-fungal, antibiotics, and anti-viral cream with no avail. The only thing that keeps it under control is Fluocinonide USP, 0.05. I know it's not the best to put this on your face, but it's the only thing that has worked.
Avatar n tn I have been having irritation in the vulva area for 6 days now. It started with me noticing a slight itching and little white bumps. These bumps went away within a day and were completely painless. However, the itching remained (I was on my period so I couldn't tell if there was discharge). I used anti-yeast infection cream on the skin as i thought it might be thrush related. The doctor said it doesn't look like classical herpes but there was no yest present internally either.
Avatar m tn Does this sound like I am now more sensitive to damage there, so I do need more lube and gentler intercourse (Not that I am super rough), or are there other things that should be investigated? I am open to ideas for diagnosis, ideas for specialists to see, ideas for tests to be done, ideas for lifestyle changes, etc. Basically, I just need your help.

Avatar m tn A week later I went to my general practitioner and she gave me diflucan, which again did not help it. I went back to plan parenthood and the doctor there gave me a cream with an antifungal and a cortisone; negative results for all STDs. All of my pubic region got red, even my testicles were hurting. I went to the dermatologist and they said that it was contact dermatitis and they gave me some cortisone foam which has not helped with the intertrigo but took away the red and testicle pain.
Avatar f tn I've had yellow discharge and burning when I pee for a year now. I've been tested for STI's they came back negative. I was just retested for chylmidia and ghonnera also negative! I'm scared because they told me at the gyno all it is is yeast but I've been through so many Diflucans with no relief! I do take alot of antibiotics because I get sinus infections alot. Could this cause a yeast infection so bad that Diflucan is not working? I now have to go to a specialist.
Avatar f tn i have used hydrocortiscone cream on my vulva and canesteen cream dakacort cream canesteen hc cream and i have taken diflucan tablets my vulva is in flamed and i dont no what else to use can you help please
Avatar f tn About 6 yrs ago my daily inhaler stopped working & I was diagnosed with a pneumoniae & on very strong antibiotics. A red blotch appeared under arm..family Dr gave me Diflucan saying candida. Was having breathing problems but after 1 pill of Diflucan I really had trouble breathing & went to ER Blood gas was 84 so kept me & suggested a change of pulminologists. That began a long struggle with an eventual diagnosis of ABPA and placed on prednisone...15 mg every other day.
Avatar f tn was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever been prescribed diflucan this way?
Avatar f tn I’ve been taking tetracycline for about a month for peripheral dermatitis - I have a few more weeks to go. I have symptoms of a yeast infection that isn’t clearing up with canestan (pessary and cream). The yeast infection is beginning to cause some skin splitting and it’s very itchy and sore. What can I do while still taking the tetracycline and will the test infection just keep coming back?
Avatar n tn I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.
Avatar n tn I had vaginal burning and the doc did a test for bv, yeast, and trich, came back negative. Gave me a prescription for Cephalexin, diflucan, and prednisone. I left undiagnosised.
Avatar f tn We got my boyfriend a diflucan to take but it didnt seem to help. what can i do to stop these other than stopping oral sex completely.
Avatar m tn What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?
Avatar m tn I would use Diflucan and NOT use anything topical. I would also test for herpes using a blood test for antibodies, which is much more accurate than a culture. If positive, I would start antiviral therapy. For external irritation topical vegetable shortening (Crisco) can be quite soothing and is inexpensive and does not cause new symptoms related to a dermatitis.
Avatar n tn I have been in a long term relationship for over 10 years, however, 6 months ago I started an intense sexual affair with a married man. Shortly affair the affair began, I started to experience a painful burning sensation around my vagina, which was accompanied by a white discharge. I immediately treated myself for thrush, having suffered previously, although the symptoms appeared more severe. When it failed to clear, I went to my doctor who examined me and prescribed more thrush treatment.
890634 tn?1241186679 In the mean time, I have started on Diflucan (for a yeast infection) and I am hoping that may offer some relief since some evidence has been found to link yeast with seborrheic dermatitis. Although Diflucan is not normally prescribed for that. I also wonder if there is any correlation between the fact that I started drinking a bottle of beer (or 1/2 of one) each night for awhile.
Avatar n tn On Wednesday I went to see my gynecologist because I felt that I had a yeast infection. She gave me three Diflucin and vaginal cream for the itching/pain. The past three days I have been very itchy and may have scratched myself from rubbing with toilet paper/towel too much after a shower or going to the bathroom. It is now Saturday and I feel better, but still felt bothered. When I looked "down there" I noticed that I had 3 large cuts.
Avatar f tn I am 19 years old, and for the past two weeks, I have been experiencing itchiness only on my right nipple. Scratching doesn't seem to help at all, the itchiness still comes back. This has never occured before, and I am still a virgin. What do you think is wrong? Is it a symptom of breast cancer? And from different websites, i gather that it might be because of a new bra or a new detergent. But then i thought, if that was the case, why didnt my left nipple itch as well?
