I've had this for two months now. Burning in the tip started 4 weeks after receiving oral, swelling started 2 weeks after that. I'm thinking it's either chlamydia or yeast. Both can be harder to detect and treat than doctors think. I was on cipro for two weeks, seemed to help a little. Now I'm on diflucan it's been 2 weeks and I think there is some improvement, although urethra is sensitive to ejaculating.
have you retested for chlamydia after your first test? did you test for gono, trick? If not you need to retest for chlamydia and get tested for gono and trick. I would advise doing so before the treatment for a yeast. I would also ask her to test for a yeast, you don't want to keep getting treated for something thats not really there.
I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago and a couple of days later it burned while I urinated. I am a male. I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. It worked for about a week and then the burning came back. The doctor then gave me doxycycline( 10 days 2 pills easch day) and said that this should work. It works a little but he said it might take a week and its been six days.
They automatically gave me antibiotics and a shot at the clinic for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia as a precaution. Tests came back negative for both. Called another clinic and they told me that I took the STD tests too soon and I would never know if I had Gonorrhea or Clamydia because I was already treated for it. Anyway, they went on and did some more tests that I’m waiting for results and will be reschedule in 3 months for follow up std tests.
thank you very much for your help! i appreciate it. i have become extremely paranoid about everything since i was first told i had an std, and then in october we were both shocked that the chlamydia was missed or didn't show up when i was tested. i am still scared since i/we had chlamydia for 2 years before we got treated, and i don't want to end up sterile or sick... and now with this it is depressing.
as far as reactive arthritis, what is the outlook on that?

at this point I recommend going back to the gyn again for a full exam again. if you haven't been tested for chlamydia and gonorrhea too, ask for that testing too. You'll need to wait 3 months for a type specific herpes igg blood test to be done again. your bf should also repeat his testing too at that time. did he also get tested for gonorrhea and chlamydia?
After 4 days I took a std panel test for Gono, chlamydia, herpes 1 and 2 igg, and hiv 1 and 2 antibody. All came back negative. Went to gp a couple of days later and did urinalysis which was clear but gave me 10 day script for cipro just in case. After taking the cipro my stomach/ lower abdominal hurt and there was testicle pain. Went back and he said he didn't see anything (sores or lesions) but per request gave me an igm herpes test around 3 weeks which was negative.

Me too I was put on Diflucan and started bleeding three days after even though my period is not due for another week or so. The bleeding was light for the first week and very heavy for the last two weeks. I went to see an OBGYN and she took a simple and blood work...I have very painful and tender womb now still bleeding and awaiting the lab results. Please any advice is greatly appreciated.
I had some pretty typical symptoms, went to the doc, who diagnosed by my description of symptoms. Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool.
Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise! Yeast was back.
I also had HIV testing, syphilis test, and herpes test.I took the zithromax and diflucan but for a week the the symptoms still continued. 4days later Doctor's office called me that they didn't able to process my gonorrhea and chlamydia test due two samples were put in the same tube and that they had to throw away the whole sample. We took Diflucan and we stopped having sex.
I have tested for stds about 4 times already in this year. I have done urine and swab so i know its not chlamidya or gonorrhea. That is why i was concerned about herpes. So it might be a yeast infection or bv and of its yeast you think maybe he has it?
The third day I called my dr, and he prescribed me diflucan. (I have been on the diflucan for 5 days and the itchyness has almost gone away)
The fourth day I was no better but I noticed a bad smell.
The fifth day I went to my gyno to get a vaginal culture. I am waiting for the results still.
The sixth day I noticed the itchiness stopping. However I did notice little bumps inside the labia majora .
The seventh day, today, I am still in pain, and the bumps grew and are hard.

I immediately went to a urologist who told me that he doesnt think its an STD and I have nothing to worry about, he only prescribed Tavanic for me. I told him that I have a partner (the escort was a stupid thing) and asked whether I should refrain from having sex with my partner. He said no, as long as I take one of the Tavanics, we can proceed as usual. Problem is the feeling is still there. there is no discharge, but the penis is a bit tacky.

women only correctly self diagnose vaginal yeast infections 1/3 of the time. really not worth self treating unless you have a history of yeast infections are good at knowing the symptoms of them.
You need to go and be seen monday and get a proper work up done. if you are still using otc yeast treatments, stop them now so that they are gone from your vagina so that your provider can get a good sample to look for other causes.
I have tested negative for all of the STDs that I know of (chlamydia, gonorrhea, HIV, m genitalium, ureaplasma urealyticum, and trich). Doctors have placed me on rocephin, azithromycin, metronidazole, and doxycycline). After all if the antibiotics I figured that I had developed a yeast infection in my urethra. The doctors put me on an antifungal (diflucan), but it made me feel so awful I stopped taking it after 4 days.
