I am currently being treated with Diflucan and Cipro for an existing yeast problem. I am taking Diflucan for 30 days and Cipro for 10 days. This will give me some relief for about three or four months and then I will need to treat the problem again. Questions: Should I change the Diflucan/Cipro time schedule or try different drugs? Any other suggestion would be very much appreciated. I should note that I take enzymes with each meal (Digest Gold and Fenol) Thanks for any help, Sam.

I've been feeling really badly for the past 3 months and my doctor has just decided to treat me for possible yeast overgrowth based on the recurring sinusitis, vaginal infections, white tongue,etc that I have.

What is the usual dosage for treatment of toenail fungus with Diflucan? My doctor prescribed it to me and it just seems to be different than normal. He said to take 100 mg/daily for the first 10 days of each month until it's gone. Is that a normal regimen?

ve search on the internet and i found out about the Diflucan, that according to them will get rid of the yeast infection for just one dose, so we bought it and me and my husband took it, but it's been 3 days now and i still have the white discharge, does anybody tried Diflucan before? and how long it will take effect? or does it mean that it will not work on me? i don't want to try creams because it's messy.

since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!! this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.

She recommended a gyn doctor that is good with diseases but he is no longer at the hospital she sent me too. I am constantly getting creams and diflucan for the yeast infections. I feel that my gyn is not meeting my need. I do not want to live on the creams and diflucan. I heard about a gyn on the radio that I would like to go to. I will make an appointment with her. I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time.

She also perscribed Diflucan since the antibiotic was strong and i tend to develop yeast infections. She told me to take the Diflucan after the 10 day antibiotic was thru. Day 2 on the antibiotic i engaged in oral sex with my boyfriend. By Day 4 i had a full blown yeast infection most likely from the combination of the oral sex and antibiotic. I took the Diflucan. I know that you cant take diflucan (fluconazole ~generic for diflucan) but I was wondering if there was anything else. I went to the dr last Thursday which is when I took the diflucan, a prescription antifungal. I don't really want to take more diflucan though, I'm more interested if anyone has tried and true methods to get rid of stubborn yeast infections. good move to get a new gyno why anyone would treat twice for an not seen yeast infection is beyond me...thats what diflucan is for too.If you see a discahrge that is rather thick and clumpy and white that is yeast, yeast typically itches like heck but not burning,,tell them you want a vaginal culture to determine the exact pathogen causing your discomfort and perhaps a repeat of the std scans.

Hi...candida is yeast and it can cause all types of issues...DIFLUCAN is one of the best meds I know to help rid someone of excess yeast. There r also diet changes that can also help..... I am prone to yeast infections when taking antibiotics, and DIFLUCAN is the only thing that helps. As far as dosage, sorry I can not help...I would suggest asking a Pharmacist as they know meds and interaction and reactions better then most drs.

I took an std test for chlamydia and gonnorea and they both came back negative but the doctor gave diflucan thinking it might be a yeast infection. If I was you I will tell your doctor to give you the two pills so the yeast infection will go completely away. Also I always wait at least a week after my yeast infection have gone away before I have sex. Not sure about you but the produces in the latex condom always cause my vagina to be irritated. I recommend that you all use sensitive condom.

Well I can say from my experience I can't use Premarin because it causes yeast infections for me. I think you can take the pill Diflucan do get rid of the yeast infection but don't be surprised that it is persistent and wont go away. I would call the pharmacy to make sure as I am not a doctor but I know I would use both but I also would ask.

Ugh, that sounds like a big old pain!! Can your doctor prescribe Diflucan for you which is a systemic tab to help with yeast overgrowth? I have heard of women getting fungal issues under their breasts. Keeping it dry is important which I guess the antiperspirant helps with. I'd pay attention to clothing and what items make it worse, which bras, etc. And can you air dry it at night? I guess that would mean sleeping topless or underwearless. (that's not a word, I know.

My doctor finally gave me a prescription to get diflucan. But my insurance want pay for it because they he said it is a risk for the baby. Has this happened to anyone else?
