Elevagted histamine in urine 3x normal amount. Starting antihistamines and H1 and H2 blockers. Possible Mast cell activation disorder? Why woulod immune response continue and I keep feeling worse, aftger Cipro and Diflucan and Nuva ring were discontinued? How is this treated???? I am so exhuasted I cannot function. ALl bloods normal except histamine in urine and malabsorption, ie, Vit B-12, D, anemia. Is IViG indicated?

I can control the fragrance part of it but had chronic sinus infections due to my other allergies after I took myself off it. I do nasal rinses, take nasal spray and try to minimize the allergens around me and it really feels like the Zyrtec doesn't little. And its not even spring allergy time in Minnesota!!!!!

She recommended a gyn doctor that is good with diseases but he is no longer at the hospital she sent me too. I am constantly getting creams and diflucan for the yeast infections. I feel that my gyn is not meeting my need. I do not want to live on the creams and diflucan. I heard about a gyn on the radio that I would like to go to. I will make an appointment with her. I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time.

Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool. Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise! Yeast was back. So I went to the doctor and this time they did a "wet mount" turns out I had BV and Yeast together.

I did some googling of some antihistamines and found that some have warnings not to use if them if you have urinary probs. beats me. I just have to sneeze and pee I guess.

I still get a drowning feeling while the flush is running through my sinus. One can also add salt (not the iodized stuff) and a pinch of soda (the Arm and hammer anti acid stuff) to make the flush. The idea is to add enough salt to have a saline neutral solution.

s, I used to take Unisom for a sleep aide (Diphenhydramine) although they no longer helped me sleep, I now take Lunesta#2 and I sleep ok, If you do confirm that Antihistamines affect Thtroid meds Please post what you find, I still take antihistamines for allergys, or if you could post where you read the article. I have a bottle of Unisom and the ingredient states it contains Diphenhydramine (An Antihistamine) not Doxylamine.

I have had candida for a little over a year now. It all started with strep throat that I required penicillin to combat. Penicillin helped but never fully eliminated the problem. I began to notice a lot of itching underneath my left arm. A few times I would put deodorant on and it would sting to high heaven. Then I noticed that classic yeast smell. One week ago I took the diflucan and now I have a sore by my peritoneum, I am so scared because I dont want to have genital herpes. I never had this happen before. When I had the yeast infection it was very bad and my vagina and by my anus was very itcy, red and sore. I am still having a little discharge but the itching is gone. I have been prescribed Nystatin rinse with little or no effect, and Diflucan 200mg first day and 100mg for six following days. All no resolution. I have had three HIV tests August 11, 2008, August 29, 2008 and October 10, 2008 all negative. i saw the dr and he told me it was probably another prostate infection, possibly some urethritis, and a yeast infection! ARRGG!! he gave me more cipro and some diflucan. i took them both (1 diflucan) and took cipro for 10 days. symptoms in testicles and prostate felt better, but urethra was still hurting and uncomfortable mostly at night. my penis skin peeled like crazy, and the bumps got mostly better.

since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!! this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed.

I remember, when I was taking 3 x the max dose on Benadryl, and Unisom...I only started with 1, but tolerance grew, and grew. I was not drinking or doing drugs at this point, but I was out of control on these things. Anyway, one day I just decided it was enough, and never took another one since..about 4-1/2 years ago. It took me 6 weeks to back to normal sleeping. So, to an extent, anything can be addictive if you abuse it for other than it's original purpose.

Oral antihistamines like chlopheneramine and lovatidine are also effective. Take ibuprofen (Motrin) acetaminophen (Tylenol) for pain relief as needed. Local measures like ice packs and antipruritic lotions are helpful. You can apply mild steroid creams like dermacort on the hives. Also, you can take vitamin C as a supplement.
