I was prescribed a round of amoxicillin for my tonsils, as well as two doses of Diflucan for potential yeast. About 2/3 of the way through the amoxicillin, I developed severe tongue pain and was told to take the Diflucan. I took one pill, noticed some improvement. When symptoms worsened, I was told to take another one. Same story. Was next prescribed Nystatin swish and swallow. Same story (took for 5 days).
prescribed the triple therapy that consist of Lansoprazole, Clarithromycin, and Amoxicillin. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of of Amoxicillin (500 mg) every 12 hours but its supposed to be two pills (1g) every 12 hours, and I already finished the cycle. Now I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, how long should I wait before I take another H. Pylori test?
Went back for another urine culture, this time it came back Klebsiella. Took Cipro for 10 days and started diflucan on day 5 of that in case it caused a yeast infection. I'm still having the same stinging pain! I saw my OB again yesterday, had STD tests done again and a urine culture. Waiting on those results... I'm so stressed and I'm not sure what this could be and am resulting to asking others if they've had anything similar? Could this be herpes?
Hi... Im new at this so I am far from comfortable airing out and requesting assistance... Well I have recently been taking some amoxicillin (excuse the spelling errors), and I've notice serious pain and tenderness in my personal areas. I am not so sure if it has any direct relations, but I do notice that I have some odor issues and discharge. Can someone please help!!!

I am waiting for a test result to see if I have Hpylori, I am allergic to the antibiotics suggested but okay with amoxicillin, can it be cured with this anti biotic (alone) and zantac as I'm also a rare person and allergic to ppi's?!? What are my options? I'm so tired of this pain and very worried!
I've been having very aggravating vulvar problems. My vulva is dry, red, swollen, itchy and painful. I have no idea what could be wrong... I've been sick lately and am on amoxicillin. This is the only change in diet, lifestyle, anything. My girlfriend gets tested regularly and does not have an STD. I've only had sex with one other girl and that was about 5 months ago. I don't have the time to go to an OBGYN or a doctor with recruitment. Can ANYONE help?!
The very next day I experienced a drip and discomfort and a high frequency of urination. I flew home that night and in the morning I went to a urgent care. They gave me a shot in the butt, and a one gram dose of Arz something (2 pills) in case of Gon or clymdia. Took a urinalysis came back with WBC sent out for std tests, tests came back normal. No diagnosis given but probably ngu. Drip stops right away but painful urination continues.
I was prescribed diflucan and flagyl and although they initially worked, my symptoms came back a week later. I returned to another urgent care in which I was given more diflucan and flagyl and my cultures were taken for an in depth analysis of bacteria. The results showed I had some rare bacteria and I was prescribed amoxicillin.
That worked for 2 weeks and then the symptoms came back. I went back to urgent care where they retested me for everything.
The tests are not very good, so I'm glad your doc is not blowing you off and is instead plowing ahead. False negatives are sadly common on the tests. The doc may re-run the tests after you've been on meds for a while, bec. that can cause your immune system to ramp up and make antibodies against the Lyme bacteria, and it's the antibodies that the ELISA and W blot tests measure.
So yes, you can have a huge case of Lyme and have the tests be negative.
If I suspect Mono, and took a 3 day course of Amoxicillin (10 pills) and developed no rash, can I pretty much rule out mono?
Some sources state 80-90% of those taking Amoxicillin with Mono develop the rash, while I've even seen 99% as a percentage.
I actually want it to be Mono, instead of something worse, but I'm starting to fear the worst.
Have any of you had Mono, been misdiagnosed with Strep and took Amoxicillin, and NOT get the rash?
I foolishly only asked her if she had been tested and she said and explained the situation. She had sex (unprotected) over a year before and had been tested a month after with no positives. I am a bit concerned as to the validity of that statement, since she stopped contact with me and started a relationship around 2 weeks after I was with her.
My symptoms have been a sore throat with fever at the beginning. Diagnosed and treated for chlamydia at the beginning.
She recommended a gyn doctor that is good with diseases but he is no longer at the hospital she sent me too. I am constantly getting creams and diflucan for the yeast infections. I feel that my gyn is not meeting my need. I do not want to live on the creams and diflucan. I heard about a gyn on the radio that I would like to go to. I will make an appointment with her.
I never took diflucan long term. I will get two diflucans at one time.
Today, nine days after beginning to feel sick, I visited my doctor and was prescribed Amoxicillin 875mg tabs to be taken twice a day for the next ten days. My doctor believes I have a sinus infection, hence the Amoxicillin prescription. I did not mention my unsafe sexual encounter to my doctor and I am not having any outward symptoms of any kind of STD.
My question is, can you tell me what if any STD the Amoxicillin would cure if I did contract one from my friend?
There is no connection between amoxicillin and Hepatitis C. Sorry you relapsed. What treatment were you on?
Feeling beat but not ready to give up I switched doctors at the beginning of my pregnancy (4 mos ago). They also did a culture and hpv test and std test all coming back negative. The doctor gave me diflucan because she thought I had yeast but hasn't been effective. She thought I had herpes but that also came back neg. After a year or so of dealing with this I don't know what else to do all I do every day is research online looking for possible diagnosis.
I am trying to get my daughter to take Amoxicillin for a throat infection. She won't swallow the capsule. Is it ok to break the pink and blue A45 Amoxicillin capsule in half and mix it in applesauce?
This sounds like it has 100% to do with the Amoxicillin, and not Mono combined with Amoxicillin and so forth.
Amoxicillin can cause joint pain although this is not a common side effect, but can occur and should NOT be permanent, but temporary.
If this hasn't subsided, this definitely needs to be further investigated by your physician.
Is strenuous exercise contraindicated when taking amoxicillin?Also, is sun exposure a factor, and if so, how long after you complete the round of antibiotics should you wait before you are able to go back out in the sun?
Did a urine test for STDs (chlamydia, gonnehrea) all negative. He prescribed Diflucan and gave me 2 pills. I took the first one and the symptoms got a lot better. Then (my thought is it wasn't fully healed) after sex it returned. So I took another Diflucan, everything seemed cool.
Then I got a really bad cold and was prescribed a Z pack. Surprise! Yeast was back. So I went to the doctor and this time they did a "wet mount" turns out I had BV and Yeast together.
