My experience is not similar to that at all, the little pimple on my chin is now gone.) I'm scared that these products might be bad for my skin too, but I don't want to make another dermatology appointment after my last experience.
Avatar m tn There are many scrubs and masks on the market which can improve the appearance of blackheads. If they are of limited benefit to you, ask your doctor about Differin gel. This is a topical retinoid which contains Adapalene 0.1%. It works deep into your pores and is effective at clearing both acne and blackheads. Eloise.
Avatar f tn Hello, Differin or adapelene is used for acne vulgaris. Clean your skin with a mild cleanser (not soap) before applying the medication. Pat the skin dry with a clean towel and Apply the medication in a thin layer to the entire face or other affected skin areas. Do not apply any other skin products unless your doctor has told you to. Avoid application to the areas of skin around eyes, lips and mucous membranes.
Avatar f tn Is it safe to use moisturizer on your nipples.
Avatar m tn Also avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar n tn Anyway,i am currently on Tab Azithromycin and topical benzoyl peroxide switched occasionally with topical retinoid at night. I use sebamed clear face gel as moisturizer cause it's oil free and irritant free, the last and most important thing is i avoid sun like it's a plague. I leave home earlier than usual for work and dont return until evening even though i can leave as soon as work is done.the reason is i don't want to use sunscreens.
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar n tn When in the light I notice that on these patches there seems to be a top layer of thin skin. The Differin has subsided my breakouts nicely, but I am still left with these very noticeable red spots all over my face and I am absolutely freaking out. There appears to be no indentation so I would hope this wouldn't be permanent. Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take?
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar m tn t mind using Differin by itself if it comes down to it. But, if these ointments do help with redness and scarring and is safe to use without making my skin worse, I will use it.
Avatar f tn Extreme dryness ensued after less than a week and I quickly switched back to my Neutrogena Visibly Even cleanser and moisturizer with additional honey/cinnamon/nutmeg masks to help my skin heal. It just /barely/ returned to it's original state. The sequence of events: Week 1) salicylic acid cleanser, extreme dryness, stopped using immediately. Week 2) back to original regimen of Neutrogena; decide to focus on the natural 'honey' solution. Skin returns to normal.
Avatar m tn It had a white tip and was a little painful if you pushed on it. I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg.

Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.

Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar m tn I researched on net that it is most important to use any moisturizer cream post treatment. But my doctor prescribed me to apply mometasone furoate and fusidic acid cream twice a day for 3 days and no moisturizer with a Cafadroxil Tablet. I am bit worried about the dryness and healing part. Over all my skin type is oily. But till now what I have heard after a laser resurfacing moisturizer is must.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar f tn I have pimples (mostly on my nose and forehead) and my face kinda oily in t area, I use face wash(nivea all in one facewash) and then moisturizer(nivea oil control moisturizer), my mom asks me to put talc. But I am assuming the moisturizer and talc counteract. And as far as I heard applying dry products increase oil secretion from skin. So should I apply only oil control moisturizer or moisturizer and talc? For talc I am thinking top use axe denim I am a guy, from India, age 17.
Avatar n tn Dermatologists have found that the best prescription acne gel is Differin. Differin is especially effective when used in conjunction with oral treatment such as antibiotics or anti-androgens (for females only).
