Common Questions and Answers about Differin waxing

differin

Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar m tn I started using Differin in May, but I now realize Differin also contains Adapalene. Should I be worried about sun exposure while using Differin/adapaline? I noticed the container says not to use it on sunburns, but nothing about not using it in the sun. I use the cream at night, but I also realize that it's a long term treatment... and as such just because I use it at night, does not mean the sensitivity is gone in the morning/day.

Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
1312383 tn?1296757611 Hello, If you are having irritated hair follicles with shaving, you can try waxing also. When you are waxing, apply wax in the direction of hair growth and wax should be tolerably hot. Then try to wax the hair out in a single strip as multiple strips may injure the skin more. After waxing apply ice(wrapped in a towel) and some calamine lotion on the skin which helps in soothing. You can also take some over the counter anti-inflammatory like ibuprofen after waxing.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar f tn Do any other women get Brazilian waxing while pregnant? Waxing was the BEST thing I ever decided to do when it came to hair removal. The pain wasn't as bad as people make it out to be. However I go every 4 weeks and tonight is the 3rd time I'll be waxed since I've been pregnant. (I'm 14 weeks) I have noticed the first time it hurt a bit more than usual, then a little more the next time I went. Does waxing become more painful when pregnant or am I just crazy?

Avatar n tn You can go in for waxing for these hair. If you go in for waxing ,then apply cold compresses(ice cubes wrapped in a towel) on the area after waxing and take some antihistaminic like benadryl or claritin. You can also apply calamine lotion on the area . It will help in soothing the skin. The next day exfoliate with a mild scrub. Also you can go in for laser hair removal which causes permanent reduction of hair and does not cause folliculitis also.
Avatar n tn I don't know if there is a way to reduce the pain during waxing...unless there's some kind of numbing agent out there you can use.
Avatar f tn Is waxing okay? I use shaving foam and razors for my legs and it just irritates them so bad is waxing safe, I.e veet?
Avatar f tn lol i have no idea what the actually risks are, ive never looked into this but if your familiar with waxing and handle it well then im sure you would be fine...i know lots of mommas that keep up their waxing in other more sensitive areas and have no problem... personally i would do it too... but i agree always see what you Dr has to say in regards :) congrats! and good luck!
