Common Questions and Answers about Differin sun

differin

Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar n tn I was told in my case it was due to sun exposure over the years. I have fair skin and don’t ever lay out in the sun. I burn very easily and I try to avoid. But sometimes just driving in car, the sun hits my neck at times. Was told there’s no cream that will make it go away. There’s laser procedure that can help but it’s very expensive. Was told to just apply sunscreen whenever out doors and avoid the sun hitting it. Was told it can get worse looking as time goes on.
Avatar f tn Dear doctor! How long can I use Differin (adaferin, adapalene)?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
1632818 tn?1299941302 I washed my face and slathered it with the sunscreen that is usually soothing, but it stung this time. I decided to google differin, and on their website it clearly said that differin should not be used on skin with eczma. Then I googled eczma, where it said that it is important to moisturise skin with eczma... So this contradicted the dermatologist telling me to not use my moisturiser and prescribing me differin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar n tn thanks, unfortunately ive tried everything under the sun. any suggestions for sensitive skin prone to breakouts?? also, i have breakouts on my chest and upper back. so so so frusterating, any input would be greatly appreciated. thanks so much...onelove.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn The best topical lotion in my opinion is Differin. It can be as effective as topical Isotretinoin but is usually much better tolerated, with little or no redness and peeling. It is even more effective when used in conjunction with oral antibiotics. I have taken Accutane twice (20% of patients require a second course) with good results, please see my photos in my profile. I am happy to discuss any concerns you have about this drug. Eloise.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar n tn Dermatologists have found that the best prescription acne gel is Differin. Differin is especially effective when used in conjunction with oral treatment such as antibiotics or anti-androgens (for females only).
Avatar f tn I went on vacation three months into tx and have been a sun tan person my whole life. First day in sun within an hour I got little red dots all over and they itched!! Stayed out of sun unless I had on light clothes. I asked this question when I got BACK from vacation! LOL. Someone suggested child's strength sun block after I mentioned smells make me nauseas. Be careful.
Avatar f tn Swimming is fine just use sun scree as a sun burn can cause your body temperature to rise and that isn't good for baby.
250701 tn?1320974765 For me it wasn't just the sun, but the combination of heat, sun and sweating that turned the rash into an ugly monster. Once it flares it's a bugger to calm back down. If you have any rash issues now, be very careful. If not, maybe try very short exposures and see - if you are willing to take the risk. Otherwise, wait until the end of treatment to soak up some rays.
Avatar f tn As long as you don't overheat yourself in the sun you're okay. And like parkersmommy said, stay hydrated.
Avatar f tn and ive been told not to take too hot baths because it can over heat baby and cause brain damage.. idk how true that is but its probably the same for the sun but if you wear sun block, stay hydrated &; dont stay too long you should be fine.
798332 tn?1237474175 Hi, does anyone know if you have to stay out of the sun while taking interferon? And what about maybe suntan bed?
