Avatar n tn Hello, Do not use any alpha hydroxy acid products (those containing glycolic or lactic acid), salicylic acid products, retinoids (Retin A, Renova, Differin and Tazorac) and other topical acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide for 72 hours after the treatment. Also any scarubbing or acne soaps should be avoided for atleast 1 week after the miscrodermabrasion procedure.
Avatar m tn have a lot of blackheads only in my nose area, but not other part of face, my face was clean, i dont know why oil production only occurs in my nose area, I have been doing daily skin care routine everyday, and apply salicylic acid 2% (from paula's choice) everyday for exfoliation. i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily.
Avatar m tn Apply a medicated cream or gel containing resorcinol, salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. This helps is soaking the oil and helps in peeling away the blackheads. If benzoyl peroxide leaves your skin dry, apply an oil-free moisturizer after 10 mins of applying benzoyl peroxide. Avoid cooked carbohydrates and fats, replace these with fresh fruits, vegetables and raw fats (avocadoes, olives, olive oil etc). Also steam your face once in a while.

5224026 tn?1365423930 I had a pimple and I used salicylic acid (garnier spot treatment) to try to get rid of it. It was a gel and it formed a layer of dead skin on the pimple and then when I gently cleansed my skin, that layer of dead skin came off exposing the new sensitive skin beneath. Because the pimple was smaller but still there, I applied more salicylic acid on, not thinking about it. Now the pimple is gone but I have a big brown blotch on my skin resembling a burn mark.
Avatar f tn is it ok to use proactiv+ cleansing body bar with salicylic acid acne treatment?
Avatar f tn I have had acne since I was maybe 12 or 13. Extremely sensitive skin- adverse reactions to salicylic acid and anything higher than a 2% benzoyl peroxide. Have tried differin, retin-a, duac, also natural solutions such as tea tree oil, lemon, honey, coconut, eggs, yogurt, witch hazel. Also have tried systems such as proactiv and muriad to no avail. Have completely overhauled my diet- hardly any sugar, no white/ refined starches, very little dairy, no red meat, lots of veggies, lots of water.
Avatar f tn It's possible, have you been tested for any allergies? Have you tried cleansers without the salicylic acid to see if they still cause issues? Many times they also have fragrance in them which could be another cause.
Avatar m tn s three step acne treatment system to eliminate a recurring whitehead problem on my face. The first product was a salicylic acid foam cleanser, the second was a salicylic toner, and the third was a benzoyl peroxide lotion. (I have used salicylic acid before, so I don't think that was the cause of the reaction.) After two days of use, my skin was extremely dry and my eyes were swollen.
1386655 tn?1452097056 In a nutshell it is what you feel comfortable with. For me, I only have one cup of coffee a day to cut back on my caffenine intake. I also tried to get more sleep and to try and eat better. I did avoid skin care products that had salicylic acid and I didn't dye my hair once I was into the 2ww. I would make sure I got a dye job as close to the start of af as I could if I needed it. When I was pg, I didn't get a dye job until I was out of my first trimester.
Avatar n tn I did not know you were not supposed to use facewashes containing salicylic acid while pregnant and now I am 20 weeks pregnant and had been using it throughout almost all of my pregnancy until just recently. Do you think this will cause a problem? It really worries me.
Avatar m tn So I was reading and read that salicylic acid can help reduce warts.. and as it takes a while to be seen by my local std clinic for treatment I opted for another treatment.. I recently started putting some neutragena salicylic acid acne treatment on the couple of bumps and I don't know if it's me not looking so hard and close or if it's working, but they seem to reducing in size and number. I only visibly notice 3 or 4 now when it was close to 7 or 8.
Avatar f tn While applying salicylic acid to a wart, I accidentally got some on healthy skin. It has caused some irritation around the area, including an itchy rash. It feels like the skin has been burned. There is a scab. How long does it take for this to heal? Besides aloe vera, what else can I use to treat it?
Avatar m tn Can applying salicylic acid to the skin kill or inhibit the growth of facial hair?
Avatar f tn I visited a doctor and she gave me a medicines called Keratolytic Ointment (Kelytic 40%) which is composed of Salicylic acid BP 40% w/w. But I read in a health blog that salicylic acid should not be used on genital warts. My doctor prescribed it and I am using it twice a day. Is this medicine okay to use? If yes, How long will it take for the warts to go away? And how many doses should I use? Please help. I am very worried.
Avatar f tn Why cant you use acne washes ? Almost all of them contain small amounts of salicylic acid . I've only heard you cant take acne medication . Face wash should be safe . That's not being absorbed in your bloodstream .
Avatar n tn I stupidly put several coats of wart remover (salicylic acid 17%) on two bumps on my penis that I thought were warts. Not there are two burns/lesions on the spots where I applied the wart remover. Will these heal or do I need to see a doctor? I've applied aloe and a gauze pad and am hoping for the best. Any advice/guidance would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn I have an ointment called Diprosalic that was prescribed for my eczema when the skin goes hard, cracks and bleeds. Diprosalic also contains salicylic acid and I have applied that to my hard callus, but I don't apply the ointment for long enough to know if it would work.
Avatar f tn Don't use salicylic acid. Go for something more natural, or just use plain bar soap.
Avatar n tn ve been putting a liquid on it which is like salicylic acid or something like that. It freezes up but I peel it off to put a new application. The other day I peeled it off and the white stuff came out of it. My parents have been bugging me lately saying the medicine keeps making it bigger, and they're bugged about it. But when I peeled it off and the white stuff came out, the medicine also took a chunk of the wart with it.
Avatar f tn Yes, my skin has been awful for a few weeks now. I've stopped using salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide, so I'm just hoping it will clear up on its own! If yours gets really unbearable, you can ask your OB for a safe prescription lotion.
Avatar f tn Clear foaming face wash. It has an antibacterial ingredient (not salicylic acid) that gets rid of bacteria. Also, Dr. Lin's Hydrating Gel is good to use instead of fame cream, and might soothe painful acne. I'm not sure, since I haven't had any breakouts, these are products I've just always used daily that might be helpful.
Avatar n tn The treatment of this callus is application of salicylic acid((0.5%-40%) or shaving or surgical excision by a dermatologist. You should also try avoiding putting pressure on this callus and change your method of holding the pencil as it is caused due to undue pressure o the finger. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn it might seem like a minor issue but my skin is so important to me and since i’m only 16 i don’t want my skin to be bad as i grow up. ive thought about ‘The Ordinarys’ glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid and niacinamide with zinc but they target for acne, fine lines or blemishes and i don’t suffer with any of those . ive also heard they’re not fresh for melanin and since i’m mixed i don’t want to effect my skin complexion.
