Common Questions and Answers about Differin and breastfeeding

differin

Avatar n tn Is it normal to have such a reaction and if so, how can I help this heal, and how long will it probably take? By the way, I stopped applying the Differin when I got the reaction. Thanks.
Avatar f tn Im not a doctor, however i have taken Differin and i would advise taking it constantly until the prescription runs out. Once it runs out, assess your skin- do you really need to keep taking it?? If this answer is a yes, refill the prescription and keep taking the Differin(In relation to taking it "permanently", i recommend doing this self- assessment everytime you fill the prescription, no matter how long you have been using it).
Avatar m tn he put me on oracea 40mg once a day and differin gel 0.3%....i was reading the paper that comes with oracea~doxycycline and it says it doesnt kill bacteria now im getting worried because minocycline does kill bacteria now im worried i will break out more from the oracea.it says its for rosacea but doest oracea work to kill acne to or no?and the differin gel 0.3% isnt this not as strong drying to dry up pimples as retin a micro 0.1%?
Avatar f tn Ok so I have been prescribed differin gel for "acne" problems. I recently had a huge one with deep cyst (when i touch it i can feel hardness under the skin)...then it formed a white head and oozed a lot of pus (and some blood) after which it stopped being painful. My question is can I still keep on applying differin gel on top of the acne even though it's "broken" skin? The differin seems to help calm the inflammation pretty quick and dry it out...
1632818 tn?1299941302 She told me to buy some cetaphil cleanser and gave me a sample, and then she prescribed me differin which she said was for my "acne". I found this strange since I only had one pimple on my chin, and that's about as bad as it ever gets (and I wasn't bothered by having a pimple). I clarified that my problem was that my skin was sensitive, sore and feels like its burning after washing, and asked if differin would dry out my skin.
Avatar m tn He gave me differin and it worked ok.While i was using the differin i was working all summer long outside and usually wore a hat.Well two years later ever since my forehead is my natural skin color which is pale. The rest of my face is very red.I have very oily skin and my skin breaksout if i put lotion or toners on it usually. Is there any advise on how to get my skin to even out and get this redness to go away. Please help.
Avatar m tn i also wash face with mild cleanser and apply moisturizer, after apply moisturizer on my nose still becomes more oily. I went to see the dermatologist and he given me the differin cream, differin also make my nose oily and did not stop the oil production, which is also not helping, i very hopeless right now. please help with my oily nose.
Avatar m tn Since I turned 25, I started getting pimples here and there. The acne worsened throughout the year into cystic acne on the cheeks when I moved overseas. I lived overseas for a year, then moved back to the states, where all my acne disappeared for two months. It returned again slowly, starting out with a small rash (which went away with Desonide Cream .05%), then milia/whiteheads all over my cheeks, and then red pimples with white pus spreading from my cheeks to my chin now.
Avatar m tn I messed with it a little bit, and the next day it had swollen up and was warm, like an infection. Since then, I have been using Abreva and Differin on it. The Differin makes the largest difference – it reduces the size significantly. When it first showed up, it looked a lot like this picture: http://www.adamjbc.f2s.com/dlc/test/Photo-0171.jpg. It no longer has a white tip, and there are two small bumps (neither red nor painful) below it.
Avatar f tn Hi I've recently been using differin gel, but about a week ago I started breaking out bad and decided to take a week long break from the gel to heal my skin. I was wondering if taking a week long break was a good idea or not?
Avatar n tn I got Differin from the doctor and used it for 6 months with no results. Is he to young to start to serious ritual? He is adopted and his birth mom has very serious acne. He is very worried about all these pimples. He started getting them at nine. The doctor told me they aren't really acne but I forgot what he called them so I could look them up.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been using differin every alternate nights for 3 months without problems. But just last sun, I rubbed some onto my eyelids and facial rashes started to explode. They were not itchy at first but started to spread and becoming very itchy. My Gp said its contact dermatitis. But how could it be as I have been using it for 3 months? I put hydrocortisone cream on them but nothing seems to subside. Now my whole face is covered with itchy swell rashes. What should I do?
Avatar n tn well it did not happen, the next day it became a blister and all of them look twice as big and it was crusting...by the next day it was crusting and oozing out honey colored liquid and forming a very dark scab and really swollen.and my lower lip closest to the acne is very itchy and had small little blister infact my whole lower lip was very itchy so i decided to go to ER... to my horror the Dr. on duty told me that i have facial impetigo..... (by the way the day i came to the dr.
1816154 tn?1463430018 Have Any of you ladies breastfed and got pregnant after 13 months of breastfeeding without a period? Or did you not get pregnant until you stopped breastfeeding and got a period?
Avatar m tn Recent studies have demonstrated the short- and long-term benefits of breastfeeding both for mothers and children. Breastfeeding, especially if exclusive and prolonged, leads to significant reduction in hospitalization rates for gastroenteritis, respiratory infections, and sepsis in the early months of life[18]. The benefits for low-resource countries are even greater because breastfeeding is related to better infant and childhood survival[19].
Avatar f tn It happened to me mine were 14 months apart I dodnt know I was pregnant cause I never got a period and was breastfeeding so watch out !
Avatar n tn I also have a strange type of Graves disease and am a breast cancer survivor. I developed this red and itchy rash around the base of my neck about a year ago. It is burning sometimes. My dermatologist is stumped. It went away once but recently came back. Tonight it is bothering me so much I am frantically looking on the internet to see if I can find out anything. I would like to talk to you.
Avatar f tn s ok to take while breastfeeding, but what I read on the internet it says do not take while breastfeeding. I have a call out to the lactaction nurse but she has not called me back yet. Has anyone heard of the pill Soma and should I take this while breastfeeding? I would love to hear opions on this.
Avatar n tn I recently (1 month maybe) got this interesting patch of small bumps and redness just under the outer corner of my left eye. It's about the size of a dime, and pretty much came from nowhere. It is not painful, and doesn't ooze or anything. I thought perhaps they were small clogged pores, but when pressed on, nothing came out.
Avatar f tn I was given Tramadol and Buscopan but after reading the leaflets am weary of taking them as i am still breastfeeding my 14mth old baby (although only now once each evening). The doctors were aware i am nursing. i was given doses in hospital, the last dose was aprox 10am and am not due to feed baby till 6pm. should i feed her still tonight or give cows milk? Should i carry on with these or ask my gp to give me alternitives?
Avatar f tn I have never heard breastfeeding as being somewhat effective in preventing pregnancy...in fact I heard just the opposite that if you are breastfeeding you are more likely to become pregnant....maybe talk to your doctor about the morning after pill and see if it is safe while breastfeeding if you are really worried about it. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I'm 22 weeks gone on my first baby and really want to breastfeeding as there are so many benefits to breast milk but I'm finding recently in the past few days my boobs are getting more sore each day is there any creams or home remedies that anyone could recommend before baby is here so I won't be to sore when breastfeeding
