I am now 6 days late but am pretty much convinced it is my pills. I am actually on Gianvi after being on Yaz and after reading some message boards am seeing that a number of women are experiencing similar symptoms after switching to this generic. The basic hormones are the same in both brands, but not the compounds that make up the pill. The FDA actually made them change their information to reflect the difference in ingredients. I guess I am just more sensitive to these particular pills.

5 months and was recently switched over from yaz to gianvi which is the generic brand of yaz. I had no choice. I had my period around the end of the month and into the beginning of this month like normal. I started spotting around 2 weeks before my next period and its lasted about a week now. Its a brown discharge like color sometimes with little red blood and very small clots. I have tiny cramps sometimes. Is this normal? Why is this happening?
Hey guys! It's Danielle and I stopped taking Yaz about two months ago, and I feel fantastic. The weight is going away slowly but surely, and my periods, although slightly irregular, have been better. I'm a bit more moody than before, Yaz always made me feel PMS when I shouldn't have though. Getting off the Yaz was the best thing I could have done!
I use Yaz birth control, and I start a new pack every fourth Tuesday. Last Monday (September 20th) I started my period, and it finished on Thursday. This past Monday (the 27th) I started missing pills. I missed Monday's, Tuesday's, and Wednesday's, and today is Thursday the 30th. Upon freaking out, I took two pills -- Monday's and Tuesday's. I plan on taking Wednesday's and Thursday's tomorrow, and Friday's and Saturday's on Saturday. Is that right?
Hello, last month instead of my period I experienced brownish spotting--it started a day before my period usually begins (though it has started a day early before), and only lasted 2-3 days at most. It only appeared when I wiped. It seemed odd but I assumed it was just a light period (no pain or anything unusual like that). This month, my period is late--only by 2 days, but in light of the weird period from last month I took more notice.
Is there any difference in the contraception effectiveness of Yaz in patients with polycystic ovarian syndrome? If so what are they?
It is unusual for it to act that fast but Yaz can have the side effect of lightening or stopping the period all together but from what I understand it is after at least a month but your body may react differently to the medication a doctors opinion would be the best advice.
I have been on yaz for a year and I have noticed that since then I have been suffering from anxiety, panic attacks and depression. This is not like me at all and have even gone to the point of therapy. A major side effect of the pill is depression and I know this is what is causing this. Last week I had switched to the brand Loett to see if it makes a difference. I know this could take a few months to notice change but now I'm considering coming off it all together.
I went to the emergency room and the doctor checked my vagina and took a swab and said it looks like a yeast infection but It also looks like genital warts. I was shocked! I have had all my hpv shots and i dont know how i would get them my boyfriend of two years doesnt have them. Before i get my period i will sometimes get tiny papercut like cuts on the inside of my vagina lips. My vagina will also get really dry and my wax lady has told me twice that my vaginal skin is really thin.
I've been on the pill for a little over a year now (Yaz) with no problems. This week I started spotting on Tuesday and it continues today (Thurs), although my period is not due for over a week. I've NEVER spotted between periods before, so I'm worried... what's going on??
Hi, YAZ birth control pill causes cholelithiasis. According to studies done, YAZ birth control pill increases the risk of gallbladder disease only marginally. But if you are symptomatic, like if you have pain in the upper right quadrant or if you develop nausea or jaundice, discuss your symptoms with your consulting doctor he may change the dose or the medications. I am now 36 and was on Yaz for 1.5 years. I went off of it about 5 weeks ago because of 10 days of headaches culminating in a migraine. I went off Yaz immediately after the migraine (and my doctor agreed that was a good decision). Therefore, I went off Yaz mid-pack. In general, I do not react well to BCP. One medication may have been developed first and others later that are somewhat similar chemically and in the same chemical family but they may be completely different medications. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication.
Any of these medications can be prescribed for other purposes as determined by a doctor or psychiatrist or other treating professional.
I tried similac and it didnt sit well with them. I know a lot of moms who used similac and were good with it.
