242516 tn?1368227505 http://www.medhelp.org/health_chats/register/2 Can you tell the difference between the common cold and the flu? How about bacterial infections such as bronchitis or pneumonia? According to the CDC, flu activity is just starting to pick up in the U.S. and could continue into April or May. As an Urgent Care physician at Palo Alto Medical Foundation, I see dozens of these viral and bacterial illnesses every day and I'll be available to answer your questions live at March 17, 2009 3:00PM EST.
Avatar m tn It causes me to have spasm coughing and if I cannot control this to 3 or 4 coughs my windpipe closes over making it hard to breath in or out. The last one about 2 years ago stopped me breathing in and out completely for 10 to 15 seconds and I thought I had bought it. The spasm cough causes it all and when it goes away (usually 4 to 5 days) things are relatively normal although a normal cough stays with me for weeks after.
Avatar n tn I had this problem for 3 flippin years and it turned out I was iron deficient. If you Google the relationship between anxiety and iron deficiency you will find it. I was healed after 2 weeks on iron supplements! I can finally breathe hallelujah!! But, don't just start taking iron. Get your levels checked first. You could jack yourself up if you take iron when you don't need it. God Bless!
Avatar n tn i have lived in Brazil for over 20 years on the seaside and also in cities with no beaches and it didn't make a difference, now i live in NYC and the condition became really sharp, i think i yawn or i try to yawn 25/30 times a day; the feeling of claustrophobia is bigger in NY, but my apetite for success make me love this city, though sometimes i think this is really boring...
Avatar n tn I am 31 years old, am healthy (exercise almost daily, eat healthily, am not overweight, do not smoke, and only drink socially), and yet I always feel like my breathing is extremely laboured. I constantly yawn to try to catch a satisfying breath. There are some periods throughout the day where it's not laboured and I feel as if I breathe normally, but then it creeps up on me and I have to start yawning again.
