Common Questions and Answers about Difference between junel and microgestin

junel

Avatar n tn Actually, both of those are generics for the brand names Loestrin and Microgestin. Generics all have their own names but from a chemical standpoint, the active ingredients are identical to the name brand. Where Junel and Blisovi differ is just in the inactive ingredients.
Avatar m tn I'm on my second week of Junel fe 1/20 and have been bleeding the last few days, and the first week I have problens stayin wet, is this because of the Birth Control
Avatar m tn I started my second month on junel fe birth control 4 days ago. the second night i forgot to take it at my regular time of approximately 10pm. and I ended up taking it at like 5am. is there a chance of pregnancy?
Avatar n tn I'm currently on microgestin 1.5/30 and I take it continuously and consistently, meaning I don't break for a period. Two weeks ago I had break through bleeding for about four days, last week was normal and today, break through bleeding again. It's a lot heavier than typical spotting that lasts about a day. Any suggestions, tips, or recommendations??
Avatar f tn I had my period September 21..and recently changed to Junel 3 months ago. I did not have a period in October and have taken several pregnancy tests. Then this past week when i was supposed to have my november period, i only had some brown discharge and its not consistent..just at some point everyday. I have not taken a pregnancy test since this has occurred. Not sure if im pregnant or not, because i know you can somewhat "psych" yourself out.
197575 tn?1215532624 Is there a difference between a complex nodule and a complex cystic nodule? I know complex means both solid and cystic. My friend's ultrasound call it a complex cystic nodule. Thanks.
Avatar f tn That happens when one miss Junel Fe for one day. Junel Fe usually take the body's bones and reduce the calcium. Using the reduction of calcium, Junel Fe then can make the baby's mess to be less (as babies are made from pouches and the bones). It's a dangerous and really effective drug. Stop the bleeding with ivory (plant) and ivory (mineral).
Avatar n tn I had been on Junel fe for years, and was on Azurette before as well. I decided to switch back to Azurette because it helps my acne. However, I was advised to use a backup method for a month when exchanging. I finished my Junel Fe and got my period, then started Azurette on the Sunday after my period. I had the condom break the following Sunday after.(so I had 8 Azurette pills in my system when it broke, all taken on time).
Avatar f tn I was regular until October when I began having severe cramps and periods lasting 21 days with very heavy bleeding. I went to my doctor who put me on Junel (birth control) and the periods slowed some, but I had a lot of bleeding even on the birth control. Stumped, my doc referred me to an OBGYN that specializes in complicated cases. After a pelvic ultrasound (and a lot of blood loss, because by this time it was already January!), the doc saw a tennis ball sized cyst on my ovary.
Avatar m tn It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn Let me just start off by saying the worst decision of my life was starting on microgestin. I started taking microgestin last July and within days I was feeling dizzy and i called my ob and she advised me to keep taking them that my body just had to get used to them. So I did. About a week later I suffered from my 1st panic attack at a meeting at work. Then I knew it was from microgestin. So I took myself off of them.
1741212 tn?1310996224 It is usally a lot darker than a normal period and doesnt last as long. Taking Microgestin can cause bleeding between periods (spotting) or missed/irregular periods, especially during the first few months of use. You should take a pregnacy test just to make sure. Also because you have stopped taking your birthcontrol, your cycle and body is changing. Which can also cause a change in your period.
Avatar f tn I switched to Junel fe 1/20 about 2 months ago, I've taken the pill daily and haven't been sexually active since I switched, but before I was. I have yet to get my period in these two months I've been on it, I've felt like I was on my period and even got cramps but no bleeding. the last time i got my period was July 4th. what should I do? Does Junel Fe cause no bleeding periods? should I be worried?
Avatar m tn Hi. That's for your well articulated question! Here are my thoughts. You are wise and take your pill correctly. It should be working to protect you. Periods during the sugar pill aren't actually true periods because you never ovulated most likely. They are a reaction to no pill in your system, so a difference in balance and on comes the bleeding. It's probably lighter than pre birth control, right? *often it is. Anyway, our body also makes hormones on its own.
Avatar f tn Hi I am 37 year old female. I take junel 1.5/30 and when i get to the last week of my pills, I jump right onto my next set of pills. So I dont have a period. Last weekend my bf and I had sex about 4 times with in a 4 hour period. the next day I started to itch, no rash no bumps, no unusual oder. I am still itchy down there a week later, but its going away. Im thinking it is just from to much sex, its itchy somewhat still because we had sex on friday as well.
Avatar f tn Have you tried any other pills? You might just be sensitive to the type of estrogen and progesteron Microgestin uses or need a different balance, etc., to not experience the mood symptoms. I had issues with sensitivity to smell, nausea, and other things, but I changed the time I took it. However, I think you need to talk to your gynecologist about trying something else as you're getting mood symptoms.
Avatar n tn It is a very flawed mechanism as it in no way differentiates between fat and muscle weight and only tests such as the pinch test will give you a *closer*-to-accurate view. My assumption would be that IF obese people need a higher dose of birth control it would be quite a bit above the 30% range. I was near that before I lost weight, and I didn't have any issue.
993114 tn?1249429629 I went and got a pap done about two weeks ago, at that time i was also tested for chlamydia and gono. My chlamydia came back postive. My first dose of Azithromycin i threw up nearly two hours after taking it, after taking a second dosage, and keeping it down i assume everything would be fine and dandy. Unfortunately, that was about 8 days ago, and i'm still experiencing a bloody discharge. As a side note, I also started my birth control again (Microgestin).
Avatar f tn I just took the next pill in another pack when I was on bc if not it will mess u up
Avatar f tn Importantly, differences between subtype 1a and 1b (by far the most frequently encountered genotype 1 subtypes in clinical practice) include different efficacies of antiviral drugs and different resistance profiles to such drugs. Indeed, several HCV inhibitors appear to have selective activity against different HCV genotype 1 subtypes, both in vitro and in vivo....
Avatar m tn what is the difference between addiction and dependence? I was reading another post and someone mentioned that he/she thought someone was dependent not addicted.. I'm just curious. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Avatar n tn One medication may have been developed first and others later that are somewhat similar chemically and in the same chemical family but they may be completely different medications. I take Methocarb and that is prescribed for me to control dystonic spasms. It is an anti spasmodic. Meprobamate is an anti anxiety medication. Any of these medications can be prescribed for other purposes as determined by a doctor or psychiatrist or other treating professional.
Avatar f tn I tried similac and it didnt sit well with them. I know a lot of moms who used similac and were good with it.
