Avatar n tn Hi my mom just heard the news she had diabetes and she has had symptoms of frequent urination, dehydration and headaches, weight loss. The doctor said her glucose level was 13 from the normal level 6. Can her diabetes be cured wth diet, exercise or is it too high to get rid of through a changed diet and exercise?
Avatar f tn Even so I get hypoglycemic spells once in a while - with all the symptoms, cold sweat, blurred vision, trembling, faintness etc...And many times during the day I feel weird - I have many lows with no energy at all and again blurred vision...I almost feel the effect of every food I take in, which is horrible! I get sleepy and dizzy after eating sometimes. I know I get hypoglycemic often, I wonder if I get hyperglycemic also.
Avatar n tn My Mom also has bladder/yeast infections all the time and she doesn't have diabetes. Do you have any other symptoms? Thirsty all the time? Extrememly hungry? Skin Patches? Apnea?
Avatar n tn It's decently bad and is turning a dark purple color with grey skin and white skin surrounding it. The doctor who discovered it said he might have to get this foot amputated as well. His medical center is the VA hospital and they think his diabetes may be caused by Agent Orange[which he was exposed to during Vietnam.] He's had a prosthetic leg for almost a year now also.
Avatar f tn Full blown and un-treated diabetes may lead to a condition called ketoacidosis. When this happens your skin will taste sweet and produce an instantly recognizable pungent odor. Diabetics using insulin may get a smell like acetone. And then a change in diet eating foods like eggs, garlic, onions, liver, red meat, fish, processed foods, legumes, fried foods, curry, or spicy foods too much will produce strange BO's.
Avatar f tn Hello, For such symptoms dermatitis skin and parasthesia should be ruled out. Parasthesias are common in alcoholics and metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidismThey can also be due to peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition. Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the tingling is gone or not. In case the symptoms persist then get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Could it be a sign of too much sugar in the stool? I'm wondering if she has type 1 Diabetes. Daycare agrees she drinks a lot (always has her cup), but not necessary excess, same with the urination (7 to 10 diaper changes a day). Daycare does not think she has as much energy as some other kid's she has watched over the years however is that just a personality trait. As this age is hard to tell if she is hungry or if needs a sugar boost. i don't know how to test if she has blurry vision.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed in July with hepc and diabetes and the symptoms get worse by day.Haven't seen Dr. yet till tuesday to talk treament.
Avatar f tn I have type 2 diabetes and have for 11 yrs, I thought I had diabetes for a while before I was actually diagnosed and not knowing enough, did not press my doctors reasoning for not thinking my higher blood sugar readings were not significant enough. He did not do a Hemoglobin A1c test. Just a blood glucose which was showing high blood sugar readings for some time, and he for whatever reason didnt think it signficant enough.
Avatar n tn Hi Can anyone else describe what type of symptoms they had with a high TSH level. It seems like I can't sleep enough, depressed, gastro problems, pre diabetic, confused. I sure would appreciate it!
Avatar m tn Thanks for using the forum. The usual symptoms of diabetes are frequent urination, thirst, blurred vision, feeling tired, cuts/bruises that are slow to heal, frequent infections and numbness and tingling in the distal extremities. Some of these match up with the symptoms that you are experiencing. However, your symptoms are also common with many other ailments. I would suggest seeing your doctor.
Avatar n tn I know there are sites that give you symptoms of chirrosis but can someone who has it tell what they have experienced.
Avatar n tn Your symptoms don't sound typical of diabetes. Without my handy-dandy crystal ball I cannot look into your head and make a determination since you forgot to tell us about your glucose levels, when you test, how long you have had diabetes, your body weight/height, if you are following a diabetic diet, if you exercise daily, and what, if any, medications you are on. You could be experiencing an allergy attack or have some sort of weird infection or have hidden mental issues.
Girl I was diagnosed with TYPE II Diabetes in 2008. Prior to that and more often that I'd like, I have had issues where my skin on the front of my legs, below the knee, becomes irritated, bumpy and very itchy. There is nothing that will relieve the itch. I've even consulted a Dermatologist who provided Prednisone in oral and gel form. Of course that made my Sugar numbers rise into the 300's. My Endocrinologist and also Primary Care Physician say they have never seen anything like this rash.
Avatar f tn I am a 27 Female who has recently began to have many medical problems (drinking lots of water, blurry vision, headaches, dry mouth, itchy skin, especialy in the groin area, etc.). I initailly thought I had type 2 diabetes since it runs in my family, but all of my tests were normal. I have since been to the Gyno and Urologist and all of my test are still coming up normal (renal ultrasound, colposcopy w/biopsy, blood work, urine cultures).
4105307 tn?1369535032 As you have probably found out, cushings is extremely rare in cats. I hope you have a good vet. Our Tink was first diagnosed with diabetes, then a while later tested for cushings. The diabetes, as I understand, is often triggered by the cushings. Either way, we had started insulin twice a day and had decided we would continue as long as she was a happy cat. Vitamins and glucosamine tablets seemed to help. We gave her FortiFlora, a powder in a packet, for diahrrea as needed.
Avatar m tn Those symptoms MIGHT be related to diabetes, but if that were what was going on you would most likely also have unusual and increased thirst and urination, possible weight loss. Those symptoms can indicate many different conditions including stress (which if your tag is your profession would be understandable!). I would see your PCP and have a complete physical and discuss the possible meaning of your symptoms with him or her.
1469903 tn?1286650297 • high amounts of glucose in the urine, which leads to dehydration and causes increased thirst and water consumption; • weight loss despite an increase in appetite; • fatigue; • nausea; • vomiting; • bladder, skin, and vaginal infections; • blurred vision; and • lethargy What is diabetes? Avatar f tn Crawling sensations can be found in metabolic disorders like diabetes, hypothyroidism, and hypoparathyroidism. They can also be due to peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency or malnutrition. Get your blood sugar and thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the crawling is gone or not. In case the symptoms persist then please consult a neurologist as it can be due to some neurological disorder.
Avatar f tn Others may have symptoms such as pain, tingling, or numbness—loss of feeling—in the hands, arms, feet, and legs. Nerve problems can occur in every organ system, including the digestive tract, heart, and sex organs. About 60 to 70 percent of people with diabetes have some form of neuropathy. People with diabetes can develop nerve problems at any time, but risk rises with age and longer duration of diabetes.
Avatar m tn but i always keep my diabetes in control my HbA1c till now have never gone above 5.5 .it all started a year ago, i felt burning in my penis and extreme lower back pain, i visited urologist he performed ultrasound on kidneys pelvis abdomen, every thing was fine. after few day the symptoms were gone. than after a month tingling and burning started in my hands and feet, the medical specialist prescribed gabapentine 300 mg daily three times.
Avatar m tn Hello, Thanks for posting your query. From your symptoms of itchy skin without any rash, it is important to rule out parasthesia skin and restless leg syndrome. If the skin is thick and leathery then neurodermatitis would be an important possibility. Parasthesia due to dysfunctioning of neurons which can be due to diabetes, hypothyroidism, peripheral vascular disease, vitamin B12 deficiency, neurological causes or malnutrition.
Avatar f tn If you have had normal blood sugar readings in the recent past neuropathy isn't too likely. More common symptoms of diabetes are frequent urination and increased thirst and sometimes hunger. Your changes in consuming sugar can only be an improvement in your health even if you don't have diabetes! If the symptoms continue I would definitely see a doctor because it could indicate many things.
