585414 tn?1288944902 It was good to have an out and about day which is rare for me but I want to increase as regardless of a severe neurological disability, self isolation is not healthy. However, my accomodations are physical and factual. I took Access a Ride and a family member accompanied me. I am still in appeal for a home attendant. There were some good exhibits.
Avatar m tn I have seen this happen in my husband's grandmother who was 90 and also in 2 young women who lost their lives because of complications through having diabetes. Through the diabetes, his kidneys can get damaged, he could get frequent kidney infections and worst of all kidney failure and death. The above things can happen to any age group of people who have diabetes.
203342 tn?1328740807 Someone told me to come to the anxiety forum and talk to Ryan. They said he knows a lot about medications. I looked though and didn't see him. Is he still around? Does anyone know? I'd like to talk to someone who is knowledgable about Welbutrin. I have some questions and concerns and I don't know what's normal or not. About 6 weeks ago my 15 year old daughter was put on Zoloft for severe depression.
1267372 tn?1317834880 There are some treatable causes of SFN (such as if you have Sjogren syndrome or vitamin b12 deficiency, or diabetes or impaired glucose tolerance. About half of the cases of SFN are idiopathic. Most people with neuropathic pain are treated with gabapentin, Lyrica, or Cymbalta and other anti-seizure and anitdepressants. Whitney failed a trial of gabapentin and is on Lyrica and Nortriptyline (and they aren't helping either).
1853950 tn?1319678110 I've used dove deodorant for a long time, and I thought that's what had been causing the darkening of my armpits, since I have barely noticed an allergic reaction to this deodorant. But that doesn't explain my neck. I try to avoid taking pictures unless my hair covers my neck because of the darkening. I recently went to the emergency room and a nurse tols me I should really get it checked out cause it could be diabetes. I do not feel sick or have ever felt sick before.

Avatar f tn Hi, Hair thinning may be related to the stress of the previous illness, hormonal problems, pregnancy, certain medications, infections, or may be a part of an underlying disease such as lupus or diabetes. Medicines that can cause hair loss include blood thinners, medicines used for gout, chemotherapy, too much vitamin A, birth control pills and antidepressants. Fungal infections of the scalp can also cause hair loss but can be easily treated with antifungal medicines.

Avatar f tn Although I am a CHF patient, it was first believed that the foot condition was a by-product of diabetes which I am also afflicted with, thanks to the medications I've been given. The final diagnosis in my case doesn't feel right but I've nothing else to go on for now.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. I am unable to visualize your pictures. As medications don't seem to helping much, to reduce acid levels try good lifestyle measures. Take frequent small meals. Avoid spicy and oily food. Eat dinner about two hours before sleeping. Elevate the head end of the bed. Keep a food diary and note down what aggravates your symptoms and avoid them. Ensure to maintain optimum weight by regular exercise.
Avatar f tn I have seen the pictures and the white matter. What is this and why didn't my doctor speak to this when going over the report with me? Another finding in the report was "minimal membrane thickening of the left maxillary sinus". Is this the start of a sinus infection, should I see my PCP for treatment? I am just concerned that I wasn't given clarity form my doctor on what the findings were in my MRI, should I get a 2nd opinion? Nowhere did it say anything about scarring?
1469360 tn?1286582530 None of these pigmentations itch much, only occasionally. I had my physician run blood tests for me to see if it could be diabetes but every thing was clear including glucose levels. She did not however do a specific insulin resistance test since she said that the imbalance would have showed up in the normal blood tests and that I was too thin to have diabetes. She also said that the cortisol level was normal so she ruled out addisons. Now I am very worried.
Avatar f tn With my 3rd pregnancy I was not diagnosed with gestational diabetes. That was 4 years ago. Diabetes does not run in my family. No one in my family has it. I decided to buy a blood glucose meter a week ago and test myself because I was feeling sick and had some diabetes symptoms (urinating a lot, dry mouth). It turns out I was just sick with a viral infection (fever, nausea, diarrhea), which I'm still not completely over.
936133 tn?1244832491 This is true for over-the-counter medications like Excedrin and BC powders, as well as prescription medications like Fiorinal, Midrin, and “triptans” like Imitrex, Zomig, Relpax, Frova, etc. Exactly why this occurs is unclear, but it is a well established clinical finding. Anyone who takes pain medications more than twice a week is in danger of perpetuating their headaches. Occasional usage of pain medications several times in one week is permissible, as long as it is not a regular pattern.
Avatar m tn On the second visit I actually showed the urologist pictures I took so he would understand what I was talking about. And he admitted it was weird. He even asked a college what he thought about it but both couldn't offer any solutions. He basically told me that the scrotum is made of a ton of tiny muscles and there is basically nothing he can do about them pulling up so tight.
Avatar n tn The blood pressure falls when you stand and causes all the symptoms that you are suffering. Dehydration, certain medications, heart problems, untreated diabetes, and nervous system disorders can all cause this. Blood pressure monitoring, tilt table test, EKG, heart echo, ambulatory blood pressure recording are all required. Hope this helps. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor and parents. It is difficult to comment beyond this without examining.
Avatar n tn Hello, Skin conditions like psoriasis, dermatitis, eczema and hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain foods can cause itchy skin. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing.
Avatar f tn But there are other reasons to see one, such as maybe something that came up on labs, medications, history of possible illness that would affect the baby. They just go over your family history and do a detailed ultrasound to ensure everything is okay.
Avatar m tn I am contemplating a procedure called an arteriogram supposedly for taking pictures in my heart to establish any further proper procedure but am scared to death after hearing of so many who have had catherizations similar and yielding bad or questionable results, I have high blood pressure, extreme hypertension, atrial fibrillation, fibromyalgia, diabetes and am known to be a bad bleeder not to mention several other issues My question i guess would be: can anyone give me some kind of comfort or
1748091 tn?1311659540 My thought is that there could be some kind of problem in your cervical spine or spine area causing this--like a bulging or ruptured disc or something like that. Did your MRI include pictures of your c-spine area? The diabetes may be complicating a problem that you may have. I would insist on further x-ray or MRI if you haven't had these of the spine.
Avatar m tn Also, they the bumps itch. I've used Google and the pictures I saw of herpes don't really look simliar to what I have, which makes me feel a little better. But what could be causing this?
Avatar m tn Don't use all those medications. When you have one medication, it needs to be used for a while (about a week), before you notice any improvement. As a home remedy, you can apply natural set yogurt to your washed and gently dried penis. Don't use any soap, bath or shower gels. It appears that you have an allergy to latex or that particular condom that you used (I presume it was a latex one). Only use latex free condoms.
Avatar m tn This appeared out of the blue in June 2012 (I say out of the blue because I don't take drugs, don't smoke, don't have diabetes, didn't have chemotherapy, and didn't take medicines for long periods of time -besides 1 week of cyprofloxacin in March 2012). I had a sexual exposure in February 2012 with bizarre symptoms exactly 2 weeks later that lead me to think on HIV (a cervical swollen lymph node, neck stiffness and then an urinary track infection), but I tested negative several times.
568322 tn?1370169040 ENDOTOXIN from LEAKY GUT When my kids were little, I went to a conference on Hepatitis C and brought back a coloring book with pictures of the liver for my son to color. As he started coloring he asked me, "What's a liver?". I explained to him that the liver was the organ that got rid of everything we put in our body whether it was drugs, medications, alcohol, creams we rubbed on our skin and the pollution we inhaled.

Avatar n tn I like your art work. I only saw 2 pictures on the site. They're well done. Do you do watercolors, acrylics? I care for the native wildlife in the NW. We tend everything from hummingbirds to eagles, snakes, turtles, chipmunks to bear cubs and fawns. We even get the occasional newt or salamander. Never a dull moment. Take care of the tummy. Bloating doesn't sound like a big deal but if it's your belly busting out all over, it's miserable.
Avatar n tn Once the aspirin was stopped, the g.a. went away. I take various medications - can this be caused by medications, and if so, how do I figure out which one? Thank you.
