What are your thoughts on taking fish oil or dha supplements through the third trimester for brain development? I'm thinking of doing it, I need to speak with my OB first, but I want some opinions :) Thanks!
Suggest you take a daily multi-vitamin and increase calcium consummation (soy milk, soy cheese, soy yogurt, leafy green vegetables) for stronger bones. It is important to eat the right combination of foods so you have the proper proteins and nutrients for your body too.
Nature made gummies were fine for me. I don't have an iron issue though so my doc said they were good because I get enough iron in my diet. I'm pregnant with twins too. Mine have dha as well. They are prenatals. But they are the only thing that doesn't immediately make me throw up.
t eat seafood. They have 240mg of DHA and 360mg of EPA in 2 capsules. My doctor told me to take them, but online I've been finding that the fish oil and other things in the over the counter supplements may be bad during pregnancy. The pharmacist told me to stop taking them and check with my Dr but my Dr told me to take them. Just wondering if anyone else is taking extra Omega 3 Fatty acids, and if so, what kind?
Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
chicken, veggies, fruits, pasta, whole wheat bread, fish (as long as its low in mercury) but limit intake of fish its like 12 ounces a week, but full of DHA which is good for baby. Salmon is good to eat.
Anybody else addicted to yogurt?OmG the harvest peach is my ultimate flavor.I dont like milk other than drinking it with my cereal so i have to get calcium in other ways. Its crazy because before my pregnancy i couldn't stand the texture or tast of yogurt and now i eat about two a day.
So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago I ran out so I been taking the prenatal pills without dha until I get paid. But I'm wondering is it even a big deal which pills i take since I'm out of 1st trimester?
DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA)
Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility..
they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Lots if water first off. Eating bananas and prunes should help move things along as well as adding a lot more fiber to your diet. Broccoli, apples, leafy greens are high in fiber, you can also take Metamucil or benefiber. Also activa eaten everyday is another good way to stay regular. Most times it's the iron supplements in the prenatals that'll make you constipated ask your doctor about Citranatal 90 DHA, it's plant based and has a stool softener in it.
One of my prenatal vitamins have DHA but no iron, and the other has iron but no DHA...The one with iron has a little higher percentage of vitamin C as well...which one should I take?
If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side?
These have me confused!
