Avatar n tn At my first (10 week) appointment I asked my Dr to prescribe a vitamin so the insurance would pick up the bill, but before that (and for almost a year prior, when we were trying to conceive) I took vitafusion with DHA gummies. Thought they were pretty yummy, even though they had the DHA (from fish oil, usually). I had gone to the march of dimes' website and they list what vitamins are important and how much you should take of each.
Avatar f tn Thanks stefano I check the fish oil again. It is only 360 mg EPA and 240 mg DHA per 2000 mg. Its nothing. I will look for higher concentrate ones.
Avatar f tn You can buy Prenatal+DHA, but regular prenatal does not have DHA in it. My doctor said DHA is very important for babies development.
Avatar m tn I have read a number of threads which are saying that fish oil with high levels of EPA and DHA can help to reverse liver fibrosis if there is no further liver injury occuring. Is this correct? I have found locally a fish oil liquid that has 968 mg of EPA and 878 mg of DHA per 10ml serving. Would this be enough because it recommends only 10 ml per day? By the way it also states on the box that a) it is made to Pharma GMP standards and b) it uses opti-pure purification process.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn If they do they will usually give you free literature and books and samples anf good website resources and advice on the telephone any time you need it. Wtewye is a good book. Mayo clinic guide to a healthy pregnancy also good. You really only need to read one since they are both comprehensive. I bought both because I love reading and having info. When you see your ob gyn they will also give you information and advise about local classes. Everything probably seems very urgent right now.
Avatar f tn I'm 11 weeks pregnant with my 1st child. Just had my first prenatal visit over a week ago. Doc said he wanted me start omega pills & handed me a flyer with different brand name options. The one that stood out was Nordic Naturals. I went to their website, click the pregnancy tab & reviewed the options for pregnancy which were Cod liver oil & Prenatal DHA. My best friend who already has a child told me the cod liver oil was the best so I decided to buy it.
1276890 tn?1271027818 Eat daily high fiber breads and cereals (oatmeal) Suggest you read up on vegetarian and combinations of starches / vegetables and beans / nuts (as allowed) for protein, calcium, and other nutrients. Good sources of information are the American Dietetic Association website, www.eatright.org and Vegetarian Resource Group website, www.vrg.org. Hoped that helped you.
Avatar m tn Yes, I did in the past. I suffer from the same thing and tried to get off my meds and be natural. At first I was still a little down. I made friends with a nutritionist. I don't remember how much my dose of fish oil was, but you have to take high doses in order for it to be therapeutic. I can't remember the exact dose, but it was plus or minus 1,000 mg of EPA. EPA is found on the back of the bottle. That is what you're looking for. Not, necessarily DHA.
Avatar f tn There is more than ample information out there via this website, many other websites, books, friends etc...You will be well prepared by the time this baby arrives...and you know what? I didn't know anything either...I learned by doing and now I'm a pro :) You will be too!! And congratulations!!!
Avatar f tn The natural fish oil source of EFAs in PrimaCare and PrimaCare ONE prenatal vitamins is a safe pharmaceutical-grade source. The fish oil is refined via a patented multi-step purification process. The FDA’s established acceptable level of mercury is 1.0 ppm. The fish oil source in PrimaCare and PrimaCare ONE prenatal vitamins has a maximum specification for mercury (0.025 ppm) that is 40 times lower than the FDA’s established acceptable level of mercury.
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
1530658 tn?1299766324 I take fertility plus for women, vitamin c and vegi DHA. My hubby is not vegetarian but he doesnt eat too much red meat and will eat the quorn products i use.
Avatar f tn So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago I ran out so I been taking the prenatal pills without dha until I get paid. But I'm wondering is it even a big deal which pills i take since I'm out of 1st trimester?
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Avatar f tn One of my prenatal vitamins have DHA but no iron, and the other has iron but no DHA...The one with iron has a little higher percentage of vitamin C as well...which one should I take? If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side? These have me confused!
Avatar m tn no it is not harmful it is a must, but the quality and concentration of epa and dha must be very high at 2-3g daily (fish oil quantity is not useful check epa/dha), most products are scam with very low dha/epa so useless.
Avatar m tn I am with baby _ nature made + dha. Never made me sick either.
Avatar f tn I'm taking DHA per my Dr bc he asked me was I going to breastfeed and I told him yes!
1969424 tn?1353020641 im using nature made (i have used without dha ) now using with dha. still ttc for a year a few months now .. i was also using fertility blend for women, with lots of hope, sadly it made my stomach sick, so i had to stop that.
1225070 tn?1344709174 DHA comes from a source that is known as being pretty clean and doesn't give you the anti-coagulant problems (thining of the blood) that sometimes you run into with fish oil, so I think DHA omega 3s are okay to take with a baby aspirin unlike regular fish oils. You can find is at any drug store next to the over the counter prenatal vitamins. I actually ordered mine from drugstore.com. Plus DHA is great for the baby once you are pregnant!!
