Avatar f tn I have taken both nature made and citranatal and had some side effects on both including: loss of sleep, weight loss, dizziness, etc. I have been looking at possibly trying to take premama, which is supposed to not have side effects. I am not sure if it will give me all of the vitamins I need though. Is this vitamin fine or do you have any suggestions?
1192727 tn?1282735542 Fish oil capsules may cause minor side effects, such as loose stools, abdominal discomfort, and belching. In addition, they may prolong bleeding time slightly. If you take blood-thinning medication, talk to your doctor before taking fish oil.
4093350 tn?1358096154 I take an omega 3 with dha pill from the jamieson brand. Along with 4 folic acid pills and a multivitamin. I haven't noticed any bad side effects from the pills but I was told to take them after dinner so just in case I did it would be while I was sleeping and not so bad.
Avatar f tn If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side? These have me confused!
Avatar m tn The study, published online in the Journal of Nutrition, was one of the first to directly compare the effects of two of the omega-3 fatty acids often cited for their nutritional value, DHA and EPA. In research with laboratory animals, it found that EPA had comparatively little effect on preventing the fibrosis, or scarring, that's associated with NASH. However, DHA supplementation reduced the proteins involved in liver fibrosis by more than 65 percent.
Avatar f tn with my first pregnancy I took the prenatal vitamins by One A Day and threw them up everytime. These have no side effects and I feel great. They also sell one without the added iron. :) Good luck.
Avatar m tn An analysis of eight clinical studies which investigated the effects of taking EPA and/or DHA from fish oil with various anti-depressants (including SSRI drugs such as fluoxetine and sertraline and tricyclic drugs such as amitriptyline) found that, overall, there appeared to be additive benefit, especially from EPA in doses of about 1,000 mg — 2,000 mg per day, concluding, "EPA-rich omega-3 fish oil may be recommended for the adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder.

Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn i don't remember my research on this fully, but i do recall that plant derived ALA's are not biologically equivalent to marine derived DHA. i take fish oil supplementation for DHA. the only concern there is impurities like mercury present in the fish oil - there are brands that make DHA capsules that have been purified for this purpose. some brands will even go as far to source their oils from the purest fish and highest standards, so that purification isn't even necessary.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn oceans mom) ? Cause I have organic prenatal plus I take the dha vitamins. But it doesn't state it's a prenatal.
Avatar f tn U need to chk CUZ u need iron n calcium dha also. I take cvs brand prenatal plus dha it has everything.
Avatar m tn Omega 3 at high doses also has helped (4.5g with 750/500 of EPA and DHA) but not as a liquid which I have just found out because it is giving me huge reflux and increasing the muscous again (which the gel caps didn't do at all). Keep your liquid intake high and avoid using anything that dries out your secretions if possible (ie. antihistamines).
1386249 tn?1303092096 I am just having the worst side effects with prenatals. Of course, its not a good idea to stop taking them when trying to conceive, I know this. I definately do not want to stop these vitamins, however, they are causing me to have loose stools every day. Ive tried expensive brands, cheap brands, as many as 9 different kinds. I finally found one that works best for me, but am waking up having to run to the bathroom every morning.
Avatar f tn My fav is nature made liguid gels with omega threes and dha. They are highly rated and recommend. They work excellent for me I have a very sensitive stomach and they dont upset me at all!
688450 tn?1259468734 I wanted to know the same info when I was pregnant. I was taking Prenexa prenatals (which contains 250mg DHA) vitamins along with 2 fish oil pills daily. I read that the recommended daily amount is 300mgs, but that is conflicting as you mentioned. I think I was taking about 475mgs total daily...anyway, they say the asian culture eats tons of omega 3 fatty acids primarily from fresh fish and there has been no reportings of problems...other than very bright children : ) Which I hope I have!!
Avatar f tn I'm 41 and this is our first pregnancy. We've been trying for 18 yrs, I am being very careful no meds of any kind but this has stopped me in my tracks. Ive had them off & on all my life. I use prep h and am really good about veggies, water and I've been off caffeine for months. I am really enjoying my pregnancy "side effects" ;-) , with the exception of the hemmorhoids.
