Common Questions and Answers about Dha pregnancy supplement brand

dha

Avatar n tn What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
Avatar f tn Try Rainbow Light DHA. They contain fish oils, but boast that the contaminants and metals which might be harmful are removed. Talk to your doctor about the brand you're using. I use DHA tabs with fish oils, and it says the same thing about removed contaminants. I don't know the brand I'm currently using, but I have used Rainbow Light in the past.
Avatar f tn Make sure you take the vitamin with iron. You need the rest but you really need iron during pregnancy. Not taking the proper suppliments can lead to birth defects.
Avatar f tn I don't think you've done any harm. If your concerned you could start taking them now or add a dha supplement to your current prenatal. I take Neevo dha it's a prescription prenatal and it's very easy on your tummy.
Avatar f tn I'm taking the meijer brand prenatal vitamins as well as Especta (its a DHA supplement). I take mine in the morning. I don't have any problems taking them either.
566175 tn?1278430472 I take this two step vitamin with DHA being a second step, CVS brand. No stool softener though. I think to get a stool softener you need prescription vitamins.
Avatar f tn I like nature made with DHA but I don't think the brand is very important I just bought Safeway brand with DHA it has 2 pills system and it was way more affordable.

Avatar f tn Dha not djs
Avatar f tn i don't remember my research on this fully, but i do recall that plant derived ALA's are not biologically equivalent to marine derived DHA. i take fish oil supplementation for DHA. the only concern there is impurities like mercury present in the fish oil - there are brands that make DHA capsules that have been purified for this purpose. some brands will even go as far to source their oils from the purest fish and highest standards, so that purification isn't even necessary.
Avatar f tn Without insurance they are only $10. I forget what they are called, but they have a DHA supplement, iron, and ginger with other natural things for morning sickness.
Avatar m tn You're not too late. I take the gummie vitamins because all the others make me sick.
349463 tn?1333571576 I also take a DHA supplement.
Avatar f tn Most OTC prenatal vitamins will be just fine, just read the label, or ask your pharmacist to help recommend a good brand. You could also just take an individual folic acid supplement. You can get additional folic acid through certain foods as well like liver, egg yolks, beans, nuts, and spinach to name a few. You can also google which foods are high in folic acid. I wish you much success TTC and please let us know if you get a BFP!
1150573 tn?1261964987 s, I believe they like to see at least 1000mg of folic acid. DHA can be important as well, so you may want to take an additional DHA supplement or switch to a brand that contains it. Talking to a pharmascist can be a good idea. Good luck!!
Avatar f tn You really need to be taking one with DHA. I can't remember the brand I take off the top of my head, but I tried to follow the Mayo Clinic's guidelines: http://www.mayoclinic.
Avatar f tn I dont think mine have dha in them. I take the target generic brand prenatals with this pregnancy and did with my son and he is a happy healthy almost 3 yr old. My original obgyn with my son said any prenatal is fine and my 2nd with this pregnancy agreed but when I had an appt with a midwife she told me only dha prenatals and I needed a natural brand. Who knows?!
Avatar f tn is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..

4326583 tn?1354714047 I was sort of skeptical about it @ first b/c even prenatal vitamins LACK amounts of some of the most vital vitamins pregnant women need...like calcium, vitamin d and iodine - and depending on the brand, sometimes even DHA and Iron!! So it was kind of a shocker to be told I could supplement 2 children's vitamins for 1 prenatal vitamin!
Avatar f tn I use the walgreens brand and have had a very healthy pregnancy...
