Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn I bought some prenatal vitamins and they came in a pack with DHA vitamins. Does anyone know what they are or if they are ok to take??
8924846 tn?1410572901 Anyone here from Iowa? If so where at? I live in Cedar Rapids but plan on moving back to my hometown of Marengo after my son is born.
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Avatar f tn I dont think mine have dha in them. I take the target generic brand prenatals with this pregnancy and did with my son and he is a happy healthy almost 3 yr old. My original obgyn with my son said any prenatal is fine and my 2nd with this pregnancy agreed but when I had an appt with a midwife she told me only dha prenatals and I needed a natural brand. Who knows?!
Avatar m tn I am with baby _ nature made + dha. Never made me sick either.
7062279 tn?1388370086 DHA is in fish oil, and it's for baby's brain development. Some women don't like fish, or won't eat it because they're afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply).
Avatar f tn I talked to a JDRF volunteer and she told me that there are NO adult Type 1 specialists in Iowa. I generally love living in a rural area in a rural midwest state but I guess this is one of the drawbacks. It seems like you have to be in a big city to find a Type 1 specialist. It seems kind of crazy because the University of Iowa hospital in Iowa City is a large teaching hospital with many endocrinologists on staff so you'd think they'd have at least one who specializes in Type 1.
1969424 tn?1353020641 Thank you everybody, the gummies sound good. But I just want to make sure I am getting in everything the baby(ies) need to grow strong. I hate taking pills anf right now I am taking two (prenatal and fish oil).
Avatar n tn What brand of prenatal vitamins is everyone using? Im using nature made with dha. Just wondering if there is one kind of prenatals that are better than another.
Avatar f tn The DHA supplements r believed 2 help brain development, but they are NOT proven 2 help anything. That's what my doctor told me. I wouldn't worry so much...DHA in prenatals is a relatively new thing...take our moms 4 instance, they didn't take DHA and we're obviously fine!!
668044 tn?1225913014 I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. My OB recommended them if the ones she prescribed didn't work out (they gave me a stomach ache so I went with One A Day). I have heard nothing but good things! I recommend them!
Avatar n tn Unless your Doctor is both in favor of Medical Marijuana *and* MM is legal in Iowa (As far as I am aware it is not legal in Iowa but things change so fast, forgive my ignorance if it is), it seems your Doctor has decided to do something about your failed UAs. PM Doctors often give random UAs, both to verify that you are indeed taking the meds prescribed, and that you are not abusing substances not prescribed. This is due to the intense scrutiny they receive from the DEA.
Avatar m tn , providing 1,600 mg of EPA and 800 mg DHA), 80% had increases in white matter in key brain regions, compared to only 45% of those whose depression did not improve. An analysis of blood samples from 1,600 military personnel showed those who committed suicide had, prior to suicide, significantly lower blood levels of DHA than personnel who did not commit suicide.
