Common Questions and Answers about Dha expecta

dha

1123156 tn?1338863369 Take the naturemade w/ DHA. They sell that in costco. The DHA part is important for brain development. The Expecta is too pricy and the only thing added to it is the DHA which now offered also by naturemade. Good luck!
1047147 tn?1328906154 My RE prescribed prenatal vitamins and Expecta (DHA). The prenatal vitamins are free at most pharmacies and the Expectra is around $12/13. Your RE may have prescribed you a brand name one that doesn't have a generic? My pharmacist was helpful with trying to suggest alternatives that saved me money. Good luck!
Avatar f tn I was recommended by my doctors to take the Enfamil Expecta DHA.(but this may be due to them getting paid to promote the product? I don't know. They always give out samples.) Anyway, I've taken it with all my pregnancies and it doens't upset my stomach like regular fish oil caps do. Also, you don't have to worry about mercury. It's a little on the expensive side, varying from $10 - $15/mo. I ordered mine on Amazon where it was only $20 for a 2 month supply.
Avatar f tn I am also due October 25th, I am taking the vita fusion prenatal gummies. They taste awesome and if I make sure to take them before bedtime I don't get sick from them. I got them at Target for like 9 bucks here in WA state.
Avatar n tn i take cvs brand prenatals (theres enough in the bottle for my whole pregnancy) and i showed them to my doctor and he said they were fine, and just reccomended me take a dha pill called expecta, cause my prenatals didnt have dha in them...but he said other than they they were perfect to take.
Avatar f tn You can buy Prenatal+DHA, but regular prenatal does not have DHA in it. My doctor said DHA is very important for babies development.
12426295 tn?1426875995 I take Nature Made Prenatal multi + DHA. I buy them from Costco, good price and they don't make me sick at all.
Avatar f tn I buy the kind called Expecta. It comes with one bottle of prenatals and one bottle of DHA which is for the babies brain development. Each bottle is a one month supply. It is about $15 at Target but if you open the box before you buy it there is a coupon for $2 off. I open it and use the coupon each time I buy it. Also if you become nauseous like I did and it made me have a hard time swallowing the pills so I bought the gummies by vitafusion and they tasted pretty good as well.
Avatar f tn Taking fish oil is great, except I would be careful during your pregnancy taking it. There is always a possibility of the oil having mercury in it (from fish) and that is why my OB told me to take one specific for pregnant women like expecta DHA, which is OTC. I can't think of any other brands, but that was the one recommended. I am sure any of the brands are fine if its not from fish.
Avatar f tn I've heard that expecta is good.. but I just used similac, it's cheaper as well and has more iron since that's what I needed...
Avatar f tn Does ur prenatal vitamins have dha? Is it ok to take them tablets with dha? The one i take doesn't have it but im trying to get gummies to substitute but all gummies seem to have dha.
Avatar f tn Okay so my current prenatal vitamin does not have Dha in it...is it possible for me to take a Dha vitamin in conjunction with my prenatal vitamin?...if so what is a good brand to take?
Avatar f tn I started using expecta....they help your breasts prepare for baby. I dry up really fast so I could use the extra help.
Avatar f tn So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?
Avatar f tn The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!
Avatar f tn So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago I ran out so I been taking the prenatal pills without dha until I get paid. But I'm wondering is it even a big deal which pills i take since I'm out of 1st trimester?
Avatar n tn Gummies do not have iton so if you get them you need an iron supplement. They made me sick, as did the one a day. Only enfamil expecta doesn't. Been taking them.
Avatar f tn DHA is a kind of Omega 3 fatty acid (which is usually DHA+EPA) Omega 3 s are considered really beneficial for our brain and general health..and considered really good for fertility.. they're found in fatty fish or you can take them as supplements..
Avatar f tn One of my prenatal vitamins have DHA but no iron, and the other has iron but no DHA...The one with iron has a little higher percentage of vitamin C as well...which one should I take? If I take the one with no DHA is it ok to takr Advocare Omega Plex supplement on the side? Or should I take the vitamin with DHA and take iron on the side? These have me confused!
Avatar m tn no it is not harmful it is a must, but the quality and concentration of epa and dha must be very high at 2-3g daily (fish oil quantity is not useful check epa/dha), most products are scam with very low dha/epa so useless.
Avatar m tn I am with baby _ nature made + dha. Never made me sick either.
Avatar f tn I'm taking DHA per my Dr bc he asked me was I going to breastfeed and I told him yes!
1969424 tn?1353020641 im using nature made (i have used without dha ) now using with dha. still ttc for a year a few months now .. i was also using fertility blend for women, with lots of hope, sadly it made my stomach sick, so i had to stop that.
