Idk what is in the pills you are talking about but if it doesnt have dha/epa i would suggest going ahead and taking actual prenatal vitamins. Dha is to help with brain development.

I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. FISH OIL has both DHA plus EPA. The lattest is not good for pregnancy but the DHA is good, so don't take fish oil as they sell it, get DHA alone. All pharmacies have it.

Thanks stefano I check the fish oil again. It is only 360 mg EPA and 240 mg DHA per 2000 mg. Its nothing. I will look for higher concentrate ones.

Has natural folate instead of lab created folic acid which can be toxic to your system. Also Nordic Naturals Algae Omega for EPA AND DHA important for babies brain development! VITACOST.COM HAS these at better price than most places!

My first pregnancy I was prescribed PrimaCare One. This pregnancy they have a new PrimaCare One with DHA & EPA, plus added stool softener. Your OBs office will give you tons of samples if you ask, otherwise your insurance (depending what kind you have) should pick up the bulk of the cost. I know a lot of women buy over the counter brands, but the ones prescribed by your OBs office are much better and contain the maximum nutrients you and your baby need.
