It is based on mothers breast milk and has DHA and ARA for brain and eye development. I personally am choosing not to breast feed, because even taking my prenatals, i personally don't feel like breast milk is a good source of nutrition as you guarantee the amount of vitamins and minerals in each feeding of breast milk. t think the poly vi sol has all of the nutrients that are contained in formula, especially with the added DHA and ARA and other things they put in to make it more like breastmilk nowadays. How is his waeight gain, do you know? What type of formula did you try? Was it milk based or soy based? There are so many choices out there that one of them is bound to work well for him. Have you tried the gerber good start sensitive? Or maybe enfamil AR, isomil is a good soy one.

So i visited a friend today and she looked at my prenatal vitamins that i had with me and was surprised they didn't have dha in them. She gave me some dha vitamins and recommended that i take them and continue to do so. My dr didn't mention dha. Am i alone in this?

The FDA says that it is safer to have DHA from a non fish source. I say the DHA is straight from the fish and not good to take! I would not take it or stop. I take the one Enfimil makes and it is I think $11 a month from Walmart and it is from a none fish source. I would tell your ob you wnat another one if you don't want that one!

So I Bought prenatal pills and they don't have dha. So when I had my 1st Dr appt at 5 weeks he said buy dha prenatal so I have been taking them. I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and a few days ago I ran out so I been taking the prenatal pills without dha until I get paid. no it is not harmful it is a must, but the quality and concentration of epa and dha must be very high at 2-3g daily (fish oil quantity is not useful check epa/dha), most products are scam with very low dha/epa so useless.

DHA comes from a source that is known as being pretty clean and doesn't give you the anti-coagulant problems (thining of the blood) that sometimes you run into with fish oil, so I think DHA omega 3s are okay to take with a baby aspirin unlike regular fish oils. You can find is at any drug store next to the over the counter prenatal vitamins. I actually ordered mine from drugstore.com. Plus DHA is great for the baby once you are pregnant!!

DHA is in fish oil, and it's for baby's brain development. Some women don't like fish, or won't eat it because they're afraid of the mercury content, but the DHA in capsure form is mercury free, and has a lot of really good benefits for you and baby (if you weren't getting DHA from the pills, or from eating lots of fish, baby would just take the DHA in your body and use that, but you use it too, so you'd be in short supply).

I take One A Day Prenatal with DHA/EPA. The box (for $13) comes with one bottle of 30 prenatals and a bottle of 30 DHA/EPA pills. I have been taking them together through my pregnancy. I'm taking the prescription vitafol-ob+dha which is $55 and I was taking bellybar before and during the earlier part of pregnancy which has almost 2x the amount of vitamins but no dha for $13 is it safe to switch back? Is there something else that I am overlooking?

i use naturemade with dha. these were my favorite and dha is important for brain development.
