The contraceptive noriday is norethisterone 0.35g once a day. The official line is norethisterone for period delay does not stop you getting pregnant, but I don't understand whether this is just to stop people using it as a contraceptive or wether there's some different effect due to the dose. Does anyone know wether you can actually get pregnant or not while taking norethisterone for period delay? There's nothing online that explains this.
Hi i have just taken my first course of Norethisterone to bring on a period as i haven't had any periods for 3 yrs and i am not ovulating. The consultant wants me to take Clomid 5mg on day 2 of my bleed. What happens if i don't bleed, do ii start to take Clomid?
but I think I may have my period sometime that week and I really need to delay it! I heard about this drug Norethisterone, that an OB/GYN can prescribe, and it can potentially delay your period. I am seeing an OB/GYN for the first time tomorrow and I wanted to ask her if she could prescribe me Norethisterone, but what should I say? And what is the likelihood she will prescribe me this medicine, considering my age?

I was taking norethisterone for 5 days to delay my period. On the 4th day of taking it I also had the nexplanon implant fitted. I had unprotected sex that same day, where no ejaculation happened within in the vagina. I bought the Ellaone morning after pill just to be safe. It's been a over a week now since I took the last norethisterone, and I still haven't had a period. I've taken pregnancy tests and they are all negative.
Try norethisterone. I was on a period for a month and that was far too long. Norethisterone is like the Mini pill, but you take a short course. It stopped my bleeding, and I had a withdrawal bleed after which has just recently gone. Please make sure you get checked for anaemia.
i started use Desogestrel in december at start when my period came was all fine period was gone after 4 days. january 4th started some lil bleeding and spotting and didnt stopped ever since. like 3 weeks ago i went to my doctor she said lets change to Slynd . but i am still spotting sometimes more sometimes less. my question is if i take a 1 week brake and resume taking pills will stop the spotting ?
Normal menstruation (more blood flow) took place in early May. Now taken norethisterone 5 mg three times daily for two weeks but the small amount of bleeding is still there. There seems a pattern: more blood in the morning, less in afternoon and nearly nil at night.
May I know what could this mean?
Hey,i missed my periods for 2 months then got it for the whole month,i went to the doctor and i was given the norethisterone to be used for 3weeks 3times a day,i lost the medication after 13days of use and did not go back to the doctor to replace the lost remaining pills so my worry is i stopped using norethisterone 4 days ago no period yet,i know i had unprotected sex,am i possibly pregnant?
We are on this same boat on this one except that i do not have thyroid. Do you see you menstration regularly cos i don't but some women with PCOS sees their af but i do not, not until with the help of norethisterone (primolut N). if you don't, try asking your gynecologist about the norethisterone, its used for 10days, after that u will bleed 3days after, then u can start with clomid. If its ur first time of clomid, ur gyne will ask you to start with 50mg first and see if u can ovulate.
My periods have always been regular in the past, i was due to start one on the 12th september but following my holiday away for a month i went to the GP who gave me Norethisterone which i took so i didnt have to have my time of the month whilst on holiday - he advised i would start my period 2-3 days after i had stopped taking it. I stopped taking it on 11th October 2009 and had all the feelings of a period arriving but it didn't arrive.
we had sex about a week after i changed my pill to the desogestrel pill.
hi, i am taking ethinylestradiol/desogestrel richter 0.02 mg/0.15 mg, and i was supposed to start my 7 day pill free yesterday, but i forgot to, instead i started with my next strip of pill yesterday.. what should i suppose to do? should i stop taking the pill for the next 6 days and i will have my period in days or should i continue taking the pill for another 20 days?

Problem is that i have my period after continuing danazol.so my gynecologist also advice to take norethisterone 5mg 3 times daily.is it helpful? After taking norethisterone, it's 5th day of my period.
Now since 2 weeks I also have mucus in my stool and I get very worried. I also take thyroid medication for Hashimoto and Desogestrel all the time for the Endometriosis. It would be great if anyone could help me. I went by the doctor already though they tell me to just eat healthy, which I do since 7 years now.

Hello, I have a burning question on the extended use of Norethisterone (5 mg). I have been diagnosed with endometrosis and my right ovary was surgically removed three years ago. Since the surgery, I have been put on this medication and I'm wondering whether I am the only one taking Norethisterone for 3 years and what kind of effects will it have one me? I will be grateful if someone gives me some helpful info or advice on the matter. Thank you.
I have recently developed a completely non-itching, non-painful rash all over the front side of my trunk/torso. It has been around for about 5-7 days now and has not shown sides of abaiting. It has spread only SLIGHTLY since first appearing and has not been contagious to my partner.
The rash is a tons of little red bumps that look like mosquito bites or similar. They do not itch in the slightest.
It was the 19 June I started my last period, I have been taking norethisterone since the 14 July for 10 days and my gyna was asking if I knew the cycle day I am on.
I have been on other brand of pills in the past which contained ethinylestradiol and norethisterone and I was fine with it.
Also, what causes these illness when in fact we naturally produce oestrogen and progesteron and also need them. I understand that contraceptive pill contains synthetic version of hormones but it is mind boggling.
