today the consultant gave me tablets called desmopressin acetate. i understand they reduce urine amounts. will try but cant see them working well.
Any new ideas or anyone with same prob please help.
My eye doctor sent me to a cornea specialist and after an exam he asked me to keep taking the acyclovir tablets (1 pill - 3x a day) and prescribed Pred Forte eye drops (Prednisolone Acetate 1%) 4x a day. Reading about this stereoid, I saw that it is not to be used on infections caused by virus (eg. Herpes). What should I do????? Thank you.
My father had a brain tumor removed and now has to take a nasal spray called Desmopressin. His endocranologist only wants him to use it one time a day, but the problem is he goes to the bathroom sometimes every 15 minutes!!!! He is also on 1/2 mg of Dexamethasone and that's part of the problem. Sometimes he takes two puffs a day but the doctor doesn't want him to do that daily.
There is a drug called Desmopressin (DDAVP) it reduces urine production at night. But drinking too much liquid with the medication can cause problems, and Desmopressin should be avoided if you have symptoms such as a fever, diarrhea or nausea. Be sure to carefully follow instructions for using this drug.
Desmopressin is given orally as a tablet and is only for patients over 5 years old.
My doctor prescribed me Meprate (Medroxprogesterone acetate tablets).10 mg for 5 days, 2 tablets a day. she told me to take the tablets and that i should get my periods after 2-3 days.

I went to the ob gyn and she prescribed me with this tablet medroxyprogesterone acetate she said it will help me menstruate and she will be expecting me to menstruate after a week but I'ts been a week since I've been taking these tablets and still no menstruation. Am i pregnant?
I am taking diane-35 tablets for hormone treatment. Each tablet contains ethinylestradiol(0.035mg) and cyproterone acetate(2 mg) the other ingredients are lactose monohydrate, maize starch, povidone 25, magnesium stearate, sucrose, povidone, macrogol, calcium carbonate precipitate, talc, glycerol. Does this medicine affect the ELISA HIV test???? I have taken this test one year after i had sex with my boy friend. please help me out.
It also seems to make clear that the type of potassium salt you are taking (chloride, citrate, gluconate, acetate, bicarbonate, etc) does not matter. The only thing that counts is the amount of actual (elemental) potassium you are ingesting. For instance we take 595mg tablets of potassium gluconate containing 99mg of elemental potassium.
This means that if I am willing to take 20 of these cheap little pills a day to get my 2000mg (2g) of potassium that is just fine.

Few years back, when my mom was washing toilet with acid.. she felt some irritation.. suddenly her one of the eye got reddish.. she went for treatment, and after some days, the eye came back to normal.

t mention in your question what medication you were taking. Commonly central DI is treated with desmopressin. Desmopressin works by limiting the amount of water passed in the urine.
I don't know why you would suddenly notice a decrease in your symptoms after 34 years. I would recommend making an appointment with your regular doctor to see what might be causing this. Until you can be seen, it is important that you remain aware of your fluid intake and output.

i used prednesolone acetate eye drops prescribed by my doctor, as i had redness of eye and inflmation. after using it it reduced and every thing was normal.But after 3 or 4 years, i had horrible pain in my hips. and when i consulted a bone speciliest, he said that cartilage in my hip joint is woren out, and there are symptoms of artharities, bone is getting woren out due to bone rubbing against each other, due to some steroid or some drug, So can Predesolone acetate be the cause for it.
I got the prescription from the doctor to take 10mg/day of MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE. However, since I started taking the medicine too late, 2 days after I took the medicine, I still had my period, so I stopped taking it. On May 13th, I had unprotected sex. My question is: is it safe to get pregnant within a month after taking 20mg of MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE? Many thanks!
Is there a medication for Diabetes Insipidus other than Desmopressin? The headaches as a side affect are dibilitating.

t think that she has been getting enough Cortisone. Her dose (Cortisone Acetate) was reduced about 6 months ago from 25mg in the AM and 12.5 in the evening to half of that, 12.5mg AM and 6.25mg PM.
He states that the Psychosis could be caused from the cortisone acetate and that she should be "committed"
Some doctors that I have talked to seem to think the dosage of cortisone is too low to be the cause of the psychosis.

Hello,,, Birth control pills can decrease th hair growth but this will take a couple of months to see the effects ,,, the drug name is diane-35.(it contains cyprotereone acetate + ethinyestradiol) the cyproterone acetate has antiandrogens properties to stop the hormones stimulating the hair growth,,,
There is also a cream called eflornithine (vaniqa) this cream slow the facial hair growth,,am not sure about its efficacy!!
DDAVP, Stimate, Minirin) is a synthetic replacement for vasopressin, the hormone that reduces urine production. It may be taken nasally, or as a tablet. Lack of the hormone vasopressin is more common in men than in women. Typically, those that do not produce enough will "correct" by the end of puberty (19-25 years old for men). I had most of my pituitary gland removed
I am still not back at work
I also have DI but its pretty well controlled now on 200mcg desmopressin in the morning and 400mcg at night. I tried the nasal sprays but they didnt work for me, so my endo has left me on the tablets which work really well. Its not expected that my DI will resolve and ill be on Desmo for life.
