Avatar n tn Took for 1week 5mg desloratadine after my ivf. transfer. Started the antihistamine day 6 after embryo transfer without thinking or consulting the dr.(i always took it during pregnancy and thought its safe but never at such an early stage of pregnancy). Tested positive BHCG day8 after transfer +hcg22 day11+hcg53 day16 hcg56 day18 dropped hcg36. Can the reason of miscarriage be the use of antihistamine ? can antihistamine stop implantation from continuing ?
Dog If you were my patient, I would advise you to take something that does NOT have pseudoephedrine in it. There are lots of products and it might be best to ask the pharmacist when you are in the store. Something like Nyquil might suit. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I'm thinking because of the pseudoephedrine ingredient, kids may think they'll get a "speed" type of feeling. Mostly it's a rapid heart rate if you take too much. Either way it's not good to abuse it. Also,Claritin-D cannot be purchased over the counter. You need to ask for it at the pharmacy and you'll get it AFTER your license is checked and recorded. Your daughter is displaying some questionable behavior. Get on that fast! Good luck!

Avatar f tn Sudafed is a trademark for a common brand that contains pseudoephedrine, although Sudafed PE does not contain it. I donĀ“t know which one you used, but it is recommended that pseudoephedrine is NOT to be used in patients with: diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, prostatic hypertrophy, hyperthyroidism, closed angle glaucoma, or those who are PREGNANT. When you see your doctor, tell him everything you used (full trademark name of medications). Hope this was helpful.
Avatar n tn Are there any studies related to the long term use of pseudoephedrine-triprolidine? I took this over the counter medication for over 20 years. I am 40 years old now, and am experiencing many ailments, that the doctors can't identify cause. B12 deficiency, Diabetes, High Cholesterol, digestive issues, persistant rashes, depression, lethargy, heart issues, and the list goes on. I have looked all over the internet and I cannot find anything. Surely some studies have been done.
Avatar f tn I believe pseudoephedrine is safe to take. It was on my list of safe medicines to take during pregnancy.
4442651 tn?1355714087 At the beginning of my second trimester I had a really bad cold and congestion Dr told me to take sudafed (over the counter) (pseudoephedrine ) I took it for about 7 days as recommended on the pack and then felt better.
Avatar n tn Some people feel that another decongestant, pseudoephedrine, works better than phenylephrine. Pseudoephedrine is available behind the counter at drug stores. If you do not notice an improvement in your sinus congestion after 7 days, or if you have a fever, please notify your doctor since these are usually signs of an infection. If that is the case, you will not be able to resolve the problem with over the counter decongestants alone. Your physician may need to prescribe antibiotics.
Avatar n tn The pseudoephedrine in the claritin d is really what will help with your headaches the most. I suffer from chronic sinus headaches and have taken pseudoephedrine as needed through pregnancy. As long as its not taken excessively, its fine.
Avatar f tn Every year I have the worst allergies and so far nothing, I'm 6w2days and hoping that I won't get them this spring but highly doubt it. I will definitely ask my Dr.
Avatar m tn hello everyone Almost 5 days back I had flu and running nose. For this problem, I have taken medicine which I also use before sometime for the same problem. Each tablet contains 5mg Loratadine & 120mg Pseudoephedrine Sulfate. In past, it gives me good results but this time after taking this medicine my flu is batter but I can't sneeze. I have tried almost all methods like "Wiggle a tissue in the nose", "Look up toward a bright light", Sniff a spice etc but all waste.
746512 tn?1388807580 However all the allergy medications I know about (aerius, clartin, reactive, allegra, zrytec) all use pseudoephedrine in their decongesant formulas. I was wondering if anyone knows of another medicine that works similarly to pseudoephedrine but (hopefully) wouldn't cause me the horrible side effects. I can't even take the cough medicine I use to take with 5mg of pseudoephedrine because they now cause side effects.
Avatar f tn Pseudoephedrine is what my doctor recommended. ....I dont trust any meds while pregnant so I'm just toughing it out.
Avatar n tn Hi, probably it is viral pharyngitis, please try betadine gargles along with anti histaminic (you are already taking one) and decongestants like pseudoephedrine. If no relief is seen in 3 days, get throat cuture done to rule out bacterial infection ( strep etc). Pain killers like ibuprofen might help too.
Avatar f tn Mine told me to take claritin and then after that didnt work he prescribed me something else.
Avatar m tn I developed cold symptoms about 2 weeks ago, starting with a sore throat, then a stuffy nose, and then a slight "itchy" cough. The cough subsided within 4 days, and the stuffy nose practically subsided, but I STILL have a sore throat. It seems to act up at night the most, and during the day it almost goes away to the point where I feel perfectly fine.
Avatar n tn She recommends me to take desloratadine antihistamine every time this rashes appear again. i need your help.. is there any way that this allergy will not occur even though i would not take this kind of medicine? Kindly reply..
Avatar m tn Concerning your heart ''problem'' it would be good to know if you Zyrtec contain pseudoephedrine. But the wise thing to do about your heart would be to check if it is really ''skipping'' beats or if it's only because you don't feel it when you have the lesser amount of air in your lungs, would be to ask for a holster ECG (generally a 24 to 48h monitoring wearing the holster is enough to detect any abnormality.
Avatar f tn I have had a severe headache (migraine maybe) for the last few days, I finally resorted to taking asprin (I was taking mersyndol and pseudoephedrine -sinus pain relief ) and it worked wonderfully but I am sure I have read somewhere asprine shouldn't be taken (same as any anti inflamatory) if you have thyroide disease. Is this true and why?
Avatar f tn My dad was the same way, and I remember him taking a prescription med similar to pseudoephedrine. I take pseudoephedrine now, with marvelous results. Not sure about long term effects, and I just started a post about Psuedoephedrine/Sudafed... complications from long term use. My dad had a few small strokes, then a biggie, which took him at age 67. He had tremendous stress for years due to business issues, but I wonder if the sinus meds contributed.
