Avatar f tn Hey yall. I have been suffering with tooth-aches for about 5 years now. I do not have dental insurance, so I just go to the dentist as I can afford to. I'm pretty sure that I need the rest of my teeth pulled and need some dentures. My question is, : Does anybody know of a Dental collage anywhere in Florida Or Alabama that does work for free or low cost ?
Avatar n tn We live from paycheck to paycheck and although we have dental insurance, it is not going to begin to cover what has to be done except for maybe the extractions. I am desperate! My daughter is getting married in December and I don't want big gaping holes and rotting teeth showing in the pictures. Please help!
Avatar n tn We need that as well as your heath issues. Problem is the insurance companies my get ahold of some of this information and use it agaist the patient. That is why they have HIIPA. So one wouldn't be able to have a systmem like that and have it open to anyone to view or for even the insurance companies to view without your permission. There are some drugs people buy that may not be purchased by your insurance because you don't want them to know.
152660 tn?1291755571 Does anyone have pet insurance or have any experience with it? I know my kitties are old enough it wouldn't be worth it but I have a troublemaking puppy (Skeeter) who should have it- the vet actually told me to get it for her. Especially if Taz gets ahold of her. He HATES her. Oliver wasn't so bad when she was smaller than him but really doesn't care for her now- she likes to bark at him. Lucy couldn't care less- unless she lunges at her.
1047168 tn?1253540506 I from there was fortunate enough to stay with a family member while I put myself through college on my own spending every dime I could earn. I have not had health insurance since about 2002 my sophomore year in high school. Always I have been the girl who had to scrounge up 100$ to pay a walk in clinic when I got a simple flu or cold. I am a recent graduate BS and looking for a job. I broke my ankle last week and am now facing a medical bill of around $25,000.
Avatar m tn In the event that you are/were a dental student from an American or Canadian dental school, I really want your assistance! I'm attempting to find the professor(s) that teach(es) dental disintegration in each school. Simply a name (and obviously the school) would be fine, however an email would be far superior!! You can answer here or pm me, whichever you like. Much obliged to you!!!
Avatar m tn clinics that support dental care. Or you can look into purchasing some dental insurance through your college? Or any combination of the above.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar m tn I went to a Walgreens clinic (being that Im a college student with no insurance or $) They gave me some anti-biotics and some steroids to bring down the swelling. After taking some pills the swelling went down and so did the irritation. However I did not finish taking the rest of the medicine the way I was told to do.About 2 weeks later I started getting the same pain in my gumbs and the same thing happend again.
Avatar n tn Prior to that I did not go to the dentist except on ocassion because I had no insurance. I experienced minor bleeding gums but that was the extent of the problem. About three years ago, I started experiencing foul breath. Brushing and mouthwash did not help. Because I was a student, I was able to qualify sliding scale fee at the local state dental clinic. Root planing and scaling was done, however, the condition did not improve. Finally, I was told I need to have the surgery.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar m tn ve tried searching the web but most of the information I find is on purchasing health insurance. I am a 22 yr old male, part time student, and recently laid off from work.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar f tn I just found out that I'm pregnant I'm 6 weeks and 3 days but I'm a college student. I don't have a job because I was in school full time and I don't have support from my mother anymore. I don't know how to get insurance for myself and I'm scared I won't be able to get any. I need help.

Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar n tn As a pre-medical student it is particularly important that you do not promote behaviors which are based on incorrect assumptions. No one has EVER gotten HIV from kissing, even deep throat kissing, with or without bleeding gums. There is no way that she got HIV from kissing. You have nothing to worry about. Also, since you plan to become a physician, it is important that you realize the importance of not pursuing the "But, if she did...
Avatar m tn s my understanding. If its a medical emergency they may cover some of it. Dental insurance and medical insurance are billed differently with different codes, etc. If its something significant and cost is an issue, extraction may be the only option. You can ask the dental school if they know of any free clinics that may provide care. You can also contact your local dental society.
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn t afford insurance period. Yes, I work, my husband is a full time student and he works we are having our 3rd child next month. We are no means lazy we work for every thing we have. I fund it rude of you to imply that we don't have a right to health care because it raises your insurance premiums. It's nothing to do with those that can't afford health care and everything to do with corporate greed.
Avatar f tn The periodontist suggested a gum graft even though it was only 1-2 mm of recession. I was incapable of affording the surgery as I cannot afford dental insurance. In the last three months I have experienced even more gum recession, leaving my bottom front 6 teeth receeded about 2 mm and feeling very sensitive. I don't know what my options are at this point, and I am in a very desperate and hopeless state. Will I be able to stop my gums from receding further?
Avatar f tn Yes medicade u should be able to get insurance fairly easy since ur a student an pregnant
