Avatar n tn Now this misaligned teeth smile looks doesn’t match my appearance aesthetically. One of the reputed dental specialist in a dentistry clinic in Ajax has whom I had consulted recommended me to wear braces which can lead my teeth properly aligned. I’m totally unaware of this procedure. Which one is the most preferable - the invisalign or traditional braces? Can anyone share their experience who has got braces?
Avatar f tn They will provide dental implants, invisalign, orthodontics treatments and many more.
Avatar n tn I'm not an orthodontist, but I can tell you a few things as an adult who just finished having braces...Yes, teeth can be crooked after taking the braces off, especially when patients aren't compliant about following through with the retainment plan set out by the orthodontist, but even then there are some cases where teeth move back into their crooked position. There are lots of pros to braces.
Avatar m tn it could be a cavity or gum recession or from your braces but only a dentist can tell for sure. it seems like you are having regular dental care so i wouldnt worry about it being anything serious. it might be something as simple as switching to a sensitive toothpaste.
Avatar m tn And second is if I could do any sort of cosmetic front teeth correction while planning to straighten the upper teeth?.. I am thinking of using invisalign, at least it looks like a great option (not as noticeable). Which is also something I would really appreciate to have a feedback about.
Avatar n tn I have posted before on this board, and with good news can report that I'm done with all dental work minus crowns...which I've been advised to not get until after we do orthodontic treatment. My question is...I've made a couple of consultations here, one of which is for an option called "Fast Braces", I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
Avatar f tn The teeth are all shifting---one dentist asked if I wanted to try the invisalign braces. Why would I put braces on what another said I would lose within the year. I have been tested for all autoimmune diseases and they are negative. I asked my dentist if he could put veneers on the teeth, he said they are too thin. When was he going to tell me? Can thin teeth be capped?
485259 tn?1519047026 The bad part of all of this now is While I have a treatment date for 5 hours of dental work ( getting most of it done in one session) I no longer have dental insurance and even at a Dental school/clinic the total cost is just about 15,000.00. SO I began with great fear of getting more dental work done as you were, I then had some hope the treatment could happen in a TN friendly enviorment, but now I am once again feeling hopless because of the Cost.
9190592 tn?1402252466 Thank you. I am thinking about Invisalign. it is just so expensive.
Avatar n tn I've had braces now for 5 weeks....mine are self-litigating...so no rubber band ligatures...for me it was jaw issues that persuaded me...although cosmetically it's appealing as well...my upper teeth have too much room, creating a gap between the front teeth, my upper right canine was totally backwards...180 degrees reversed, and my bottom left front tooth was 80 degrees rotated....
Avatar m tn Prior to the events that I will speak of, the dental-related things I’ve had done are (A) all four wisdom teeth were removed with no problem and (B) I had invisalign braces. Okay, here we go. In 2012 I was in an accident that ultimately knocked out 3 of my upper front teeth (both maxillary central incisors and my left maxillary lateral incisor). I had bone grafts to repair the damage done to my jaw and the 3 lost teeth. Next was the decision on what to do for the missing teeth.
Avatar n tn I am about 6 months into orthodontic treatment using Invisalign. I have an open-bite and receeded chin which causes me to have mild lip and chin strain when closing my mouth. After about a month wearing the aligners I realized they just added too much more strain to my lips and chin when closing my mouth.
Avatar n tn Also do you know if Invisalign braces are availible in UK?
4518471 tn?1355798857 I am at the part I flush it with mouth wash and water mixed together which has been getting some food and junk out yay but i still got blood and the holes and cuts from the surgery still their how do I know how long will it take to fully heal bc soon I am suppose to make teeth impression for my Invisalign again I have been going through my day with out any pain killers and it does still hurt to eat.
Avatar f tn Anyways, so I am now seeing functional orthodontists trying to decide which one to go with), and the treatment plan in a nutshell is this, funcitonal appliance to fix TMJ, braces or invisalign to re-open gaps, make teeth forward more/ use arch wire to widen smile, then implants. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Scared out of my mind to make another bad mistake, but I feel like reversing this horrible thing that has happened may be a good way to go....
Avatar f tn Hey guys! So probably in about 3 months or so I'm going to be getting my wisdom teeth removed so I can start Invisalign. I'm 17 and my top wisdom teeth have fully grown in. My bottom two haven't and they are partially erupted and my dentist (who will also be doing the procedure and Invisalign) says it's because there isn't enough room for them. I'll have them all taken out. He said that the bottom ones will need stitches because they are only partially erupted.
Avatar n tn d be very cautious and skeptical about anyone who is willing to take thousands of dollars from you and say that this problem can be corrected with invisalign. At leaset that is my experience. Id get at least one, preferably 2 more opinions. And dont go into the office mentining invisalgn. Just sit in the chair and ask the orthodontist how your issues can be adressed.. You should also get an opinion from a well respected prosthodontist.
Avatar m tn My dentist told me that the orthodontist screwed up and that now I am a perfect candidate for Invisalign. Too bad I cannot nearly afford it! My gap is very small and not very noticeable, though it is noticeable to me. Are there any cheap alternatives to closing it? I've heard about Orthofill bands, but I'm scared that they will mess up my teeth. Any advice is much appreciated!
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn There is the option of braces that are clear trays that work very well. It is called Invisalign. Any orthodontist will know about it and there a numerous general dentist that do the technique if the cases are not too complicated.I do not know if this would work in your case but it could be considered.Laminates are a good option but the teeth usually have to be prepped which means they are altered forever and the laminates would have to be redone at some point.
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar m tn The specialist I am seeing has developed a treatment plan that includes grinding down some of my back teeth to relieve the malocclusion, then adjusting my bite with Invisalign braces to move my lower front teeth forward. He says these teeth are crowded and have grown too long altering my bite and stressing my jaw muscles.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar n tn I think I naturally cover my bottom teeth when I talk from muscle memory and wanting to hide my teeth pre-invisalign. https://imgur.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
