Avatar m tn If the chronic stress causes decrease in testosterone, Can we reverse it?can we increase testosterone levels if we lead stress free life and maintain good health?
Avatar f tn It could take up to about 30 days for the activity in this vial to decrease to levels that are no longer measurable above natural background radiation levels. In addition, when thallium-201 is injected into the blood during a stress test, the thallium rapidly leaves the blood by uptake in the cells of all organs and tissues in the body. Over time, the thallium eventually is excreted by way of the gastrointestinal tract 80% and through the urine 20%.
Avatar f tn Under conditions of high stress, the loss of available tyrosine to the brain results in one’s loss of interest, slower movement and a decline in physical health. Low tyrosine levels coupled with chronic stress leads to a decrease in enzymatic activity responsible for producing hormones. These influences affect the hypothalamus and adrenal glands which adversely leads to the dysfunction of the thyroid.
Avatar f tn My previous T did research on cardiac patients and she was horrified by my stress levels and the effect it would be having on my body. She thought I needed to reduce my anxiety to decrease my cardiovascular risk, etc. I was just asking because I just saw her old website. www.eatingdisorders.co.
Avatar f tn Six weeks ago I was diagnosed with TSH of 143 and T4 of 0.3 and put on 125 mcg of Synthroid. First levels were checked yesterday and now I'm in the high part of normal (forgive me, I don't have specifics I wasn't near pen and paper when dr called). I'm feeling much better too! But my dr wants to decrease meds to 75 in fear of putting me into hyper on the 125. Is this right?! Isn't the medicine in full effect already?
Avatar f tn HCG levels on Thursday were 39000. On Saturday, levels had decreased to 35000. Doctor is rechecking again tomorrow and ordering a more sensitive ultrasound. Is there anything positive about this?
Avatar f tn FT3 often keeps rising quite a while after FT4 levels stabilize. After FT4 stabilizes, conversion often takes some time to ramp back up, and the whole body has to rebalance. Healing can take even longer. No one knows why some people convert slowly, but my observation is that slow conversion doesn't happen in people not on thyroid meds. Perhaps it has to due with the fact that we take our meds once a day in one fell swoop instead of having a constant supply of T4 all day???
Avatar f tn it all depends on how u deal with stress. When you are stressed out, your body pumps out different hormones-obviously the stress hormones that increase heart rate n things like that. Some stress is normal. N if u can cope with them, your body's stress hormones level out but if you're constantly stressed, u can be affecting the baby. I remember learning in school that too much stress during pregnancy can be associated with low birth weight and/or premature birth.
Avatar m tn we do use decrease in AFP as a surrogate marker for response but follow-up scans are much more important. It is concerning in cases if the AFP does not decrease after treatment of the HCC.
Avatar n tn I have heard that the risk of CAD goes down proportionately with the decrease in LDL. That is, for ever 1% decrease in LDL, the risk of CAD goes down by 1%. I have also heard that for each 1mg (mg rather than %) increase in HDL, the risk of CAD goes down by 2%. Is this correct? Does this formular hold true when the patients LDL and HDL are low to begin with. My LDL went from 80 to 39 and HDL from 50 to 34. So, I have a 51% reduction from LDL lowering.
Avatar n tn thanks for that but does not answer question about whether the level will increase or decrease from random(non fasting).
Avatar m tn selenium may lower TPO levels; levothyroxine may lower TPO antibodies; stress does not appear to affect TPO levels. Anecdotally, i read a dairy free diet lowered TPO antibodies (Hope For Hashimoto's blog).
Avatar m tn s all just a reaction to high stress levels. In the past, stress has usually manifested for me as acid reflux, but no GI issues this time. Has anyone ever seen stress cause a rash like this?
Avatar f tn ve been taking 250 mg of Niacin. Based on the previous TSH told me to decrease to 150. The last dosage said to decrease to 125 mcg. Is this weird?
Avatar f tn I am 9 weeks 6 days pregnant and my Dr. office just called to give me my levels. My beta went down from about 80,000 to 60,000. They are telling me that this happens during 9 to 10 weeks. Has this happen to anyone else? Has anyone heard of this. I am starting to get worry.
Avatar m tn Yes, I knew that. But that's not my point. I am as much in shape - or out of it, more out actually - as I was 30 years ago and I could do it then and now I can't. The only thing you could say in my case: "You were in better shape by definition because you were younger" and that doesn't make much sense to me unless the heart rate increase/decrease is somehow related to your age. Just as they give you different numbers for your max.
Avatar m tn of reasons also.. sudden increase or decrease in weight, stress, changes in the hormonal levels, any medication or illness etc.. ask her not to stress it shall come soon.. good luck..
10005815 tn?1453762475 Does anyone know how to read them? Also does it tell how far along you are? Mine is at 45.1. My Dr say it's raising appropriately but I have to take Progesterone tablets to decrease the risk of miscarriage.
Avatar f tn She was having a little pain so they had her come in 3 days later and rechecked her levels, they were 1600. The lady she spoke with on the phone said that things didn't look good and to expect to miscarry. They thought she was 6 weeks, but could only see a "small" sac during her u/s. She is a nervous wreck, crying not sleeping and thinking every little pain is the beginning of a m/c. She went again today and had her levels checked (48 hrs after the 1600 level) and she is at 2250.
6948792 tn?1386369813 Hello, Masturbation is completely normal for both men and women and it actually is one of the body’s most effective ways to relieve stress .If it is affecting your lifestyle it is suggested to decrease the frequency and avoid it if possible. You should try to keep yourself busy in studies and sports activities. It does not affect blood sugar levels of any person. Consult a healthcare practitioner for professional help. Take care and regards!
14827117 tn?1436915402 In terms of TPO-Ab levels, 35 of 38 patients (92%) had a decrease, 2 patients had undulating levels, and 1 patient had an inverse hyperbolic increase in her TPO-Ab levels. In the 35 patients in whom there were decreasing TPO-Ab values, the mean of the first value was 4779 IU/mL with an SD of 4099 IU/mL. The mean decrease after 3 months was 8%, and after 1 year it was 45%. Five years after the first value, TPO-Ab levels were 1456 +/- 1219 IU/mL, a decrease of 70%.

Avatar m tn A study published in 2000 examined the relationship between diet and SHBG, and found that “diets low in protein in elderly men [40-70 years old] may lead to elevated SHBG levels and decreased testosterone availability. The decrease in bioavailable testosterone can then result in declines in sexual function and muscle and red cell mass, and contribute to the loss of bone density.”22 3. Soy and fish oil keep estrogen and SHBG in check.
Avatar f tn t help so I went off of it. I know that stress and anxiety can decrease your levels of estrogen, progesterone, etc. So which came first, the chicken or the egg?
1831849 tn?1383228392 I was only suggesting a trial decrease in the physical stress to the foot - to see how much it might be contributing. You could always ramp up on a different type of exercise. A stationary bike or elliptical offers similar benefit with far less impact. I've assumed you have tried things like icing, compression and massage or OTC pain pills and/or topicals. Yet, considering my husband's usual routine for pain, maybe I should have been more specific. Have you tried alternatives?
