I tried a dandruff shampoo that contains zinc pyrithione, but this time I rubbed the shampoo directly on the spots instead of just the foam. My ears and groin are still red but the scales and scabs are virtually gone in less than 10 days and I only itch when the skin is wet (sweat or post-shower).
Hey, this works. And I'm tired of itching. And now parts of my scalp are itching, on top of the ears, face, chest, belly area and groin.

You need to use medicated shampoos containing coal tar, ciclopiroxolamine ketoconazole, selenium sulfide, or zinc pyrithione. For the acne, you can apply Benzoyl peroxide 4% on the lesions.

Treatment includes washing the scalp with shampoo with selenium sulfide (2.5%) or zinc pyrithione (1-2%) used 2-3 times weekly at home. Oral steroids, Griseofulvin and oral antifungals may also be required. I suggest you to get it evaluated from a dermatologist.
The hair loss due to tinea capitis is not permanent and usually goes away on its own once the fungal infection is treated.
Get head and shoudlers shampoo let it sit on your scalp 3-5 mins you might feel slight tingle its the pyrithione zinc working !!!!!!

I've had the same thing for a long time. I've tried everything. I happened to be reading about pyrithione zinc ...which is the active ingredient in dandruff shampoo. Turns out it's also used for dermatitis, etc....I tried it.....it works. Could see a difference after 2 showers. Is now almost gone completely.

Both have the active ingredient Pyrithione Zinc in them which is the same ingredient they use for dandruff too. They do add eucalyptus as well in the itchy scalp version, which seems to relieve scalp issues more when added to that Zinc stuff.
One other option is Selsun Blue's "itchy dry scalp" formula which besides being a Extra hydrating formula, contains 3 percent salicylic acid, which normally is added to face washes because it works great keeping zits at bay.

I have been suffering from dandruff for more than 10 years. I have tried Nizoral, coal tar, head and shoulder, selsum blue etc but nothing seems to help.
Especially in 3 area in my head near the centre, I big circle of dandruff forming. They can be almost the size of dime. Its thicken , raised flaky transparent skin layer with dots. I have been noticing this for atleast 4 years now. I scratch and take it out but it rebuilds in just couple of day in the excact location.
I bought Head and Shoulders itchy scalp care with eucalyptus washed my scalp in the shower and that done the trick no more smelly musty odor.
I think this resulted in me developing serious dandruff. its been a problem for a while now. I think there is some hairloss and scalp is very dry and itchy. Everytime I run my fingers through my hand i can see flakes falling down. I plan on shaving my head and start applying some cream. Can you recommend any medicine or any remedies. I would really appreciate some help.
