Avatar f tn You can get a 2lb can of Whey Protein powder at Walmart for 15$ that has all the amino acids you need. Blend 2 scoops with a banana, milk (I use almond) and some frozen berries. Drink twice a day. This is yummy, gives you the aminos, and NO PILLS! Feel better...You are doing this!

Avatar f tn I have talked with two health professionals about amino acids like L-tyrosine... they have both told me that they are for people involved in strength training and vigorous excercise progams to help build muscle, however everyone says they help... how do they help? I am very curious because I need something to help me get my body reconditioned since detoxing?
Avatar f tn hello to all again. about the amino acids, is that rough price of $4 a bottle a recent price and if so in what part of the country? we don't have a gnc around anymore so i went to Mrs. Greens (health food store) and CVS and they were going for 15-20 dollars per small bottle! i didn't buy because i figure i may be able to get them cheaper somewhere else. everything is pretty expensive here in NY compare to other states i've been to.
Avatar f tn t take any suboxone yesterday. got through a bit of a restless night, took 2mgs this morning. anyway, about the amino acids, are there any side effects to taking those large quantities? does it make you constipated or upset the stomach at all? and for the relaxing ones, can they make you tired? just wondering. i am struggling with fatigue more than anxiety at this point so i was wondering if all those stress reducing aminos would make my fatigue worse.
Avatar f tn Hello all. I was wondering if I should continue to take the amino acids in the Thomas recipe if I am feeling better. I take the 5htp, l tyrosine, l-glutimine and omega 3 b-vit etc.... Avatar m tn Omega 3 and 6 essential fatty acids have mild anti-inflammatory effects on the skin, as well as help to decrease skin dryness. They have to be given for 1-3 months before a beneficial effect is seen. Fatty acids also work synergistically with antihistamines to help reduce allergic skin inflammation and itching. Steroids: Injectable or oral steroids such as cortisone or prednisone have many pros and cons in the treatment of allergies in pets.
Avatar f tn Hi there, this may be a silly question but nonetheless I would love to know the facts. Will amino acids (luecine, valine, isoleucine) taken as part of a workout regiment have any effect on an HIV antibody test? I take this powder daily during my workouts, but wanted to be certain it wouldn't have an effect on my test I just took (negative).
Avatar n tn I read in a few other posts that some people here take Amino Acids for energy and for other benefits. My questions is can these be harmful on the liver? I'm asking because I have hep C (stage 0) and I work out regularly and the amino acids really benefit me muscle and energy wise.
416625 tn?1203288998 I have not started it (my baby is 7 months) and am thinking of trying amino acids/vitamin supplements. My question is....Have any of you tried this approach and has it worked? My other question is....if I do go the Celexa way....are there bad withdrawls if you go off? And is it good for anxiety. He said it is, but I just read on here that somebody said it gave them the jitters... thanks so much....

Avatar f tn So important are amino acids to pain practitioners, this journal is publishing a multi-part series on amino acids and diet for the pain practitioner. This first article outlines the basics of amino acids and diet in pain practice and subsequent articles will give more detailed protocols and guidelines for the use of pain-targeted amino acids and dietary therapies. http://www.practicalpainmanagement.
1667425 tn?1303325680 ve been doing some homework, and have seen several referances to Amino Acids. the problem here, is that I do not have alot of money, so if anyone could give advice as to the most important ones, or the ones that most helped you, that would be MOST appreciated! In the past, I couldn't make it, because of lack of sleep, and relentless weakness, and anxiety. SO tired of this battle. I just want to be ,"me", again for myself, and my family.
4204073 tn?1361831476 Never mind...found a link on the bottom of this page that answers my question. http://www.medhelp.org/health_pages/Addiction/Amino-Acid-Protocol/show/15?
Avatar m tn You can have your fasting essential amino acids checked with a blood test. if your essential amino acids are low, make sure to use a blend of all eight essential amino acids (including tryptophan) individualized for you. And, just as importantly, make sure to look for the cause of your low levels. It probably won’t surprise you to learn that, quite often, that cause turns out to be hypochlorhydria, or low stomach acid.
Avatar f tn There are many substances that are amino acids..... look in the Health Pages or put Amino Acid Protocols in the med help search engine... some help with sleep, some with nerves, some with energy. Think of the amino's as a supplement.
Avatar n tn All I know about are proteins and amino acids. I' not sure what foods you find amino acids in, but I'm sure you could find out by googling it. Sorry, don't know anything else, but I'm sure others will be by soon to help.
Avatar n tn less is better with sub...amino acids are found naturally in foods...ur body will use what it needs and excrete the rest...amino acids are safe...if u ate 3 steaks u would be getting a ton of amino acids as they are abundant in meats..building blocks of protein and help heal nuerotransmitters...follow the thomas recipe and do not be afraid of overdosing on amino acids....
Avatar m tn These are studies that prove the reason for why amino-acids supplementation works well for PATM. While studies on each individual amino-acids is lacking, two amino-acids in particular glutamine and arginine have been studied and are essential in maintain the gut lining. However, studies also exist where whole amino-acids profiles have been successful against gut related diseases. It’s the same thing we are doing.
Avatar f tn Hi there! As VIC mentioned above, they're both amino acids. You will not get addicted to them. Some Amino acids can be synthesized by our bodies, some can't. Those that we can't produce & must acquire from diet are known as 'essential amino acids'. All Amino Acids are necessary to proper systemic function. A deficit in aminos will cause digestive disorders, hair & skin loss, sleep disruption, stress & general poor health. The best aminos to take are Raw.
