CSA = Cyclosporin A is an immunosuppressant used in post liver transplant patients to prevent organ rejection. Warning: Cyclosporin causes drug to drug interactions with INCIVEK. It causes the dosage of cyclosporin to go very high! Here is the warning from the INCIVEK package insert...

I have been diagnosed with central sleep apnea, with about 26 brain awakenings per hr, no REM, and numerous breathing stops of 30 seconds or more during several sleep studies. (I also had several instances of obstructive sleep apnea incidents during various sleep studies.) It's probably no wonder that I also have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome, as well as chronic myofascial pain syndrome and degenerative disc disease.
Did you ever have a sleep study done after you were off the opiates for a month or more? Why are you sure it's CSA? I'm asking because there are other causes...

I have been using morphine for quite some time now (8 months), and have recently experienced CSA. The first time was about a month ago, where I awoke gasping for air. Recently its been getting worse. I was wondering, if the Central Sleep Apnea would go away if I would stop using opioids altogether. Because, before I have never had any signs of CSA and only up until a month ago it happened. Its kind of an emergency........
Ask your ophthalmologist about putting you on a steroid drop like lotemax for several weeks to stop the cyclosporin burning.
Is Cyclosporin a steroid ? My consultant has advised against steroids previously as I had Herpes Simplex Keratitis a few months ago which she said steroids could stir up again. The HSK was very painful and definitely don't want that again although she has warned ne it can reaccur.
Even with ceseation of cyclosporin and a decrease in viral load a reading of 1,142,00 IU/mL is considered high.
Importantly here is your daughter currently has minimal liver damage and will be having iron chelation therapy to prevent fibrosis acceleration. The BMT was succesful and that aspect of her health is under control . As time passes, the only thing that will confirm the presence of active HCV is an HCV RNA by PCR.

m not breathing enough. Like a brain issue or something. So I had a sleep study done. The results are as follows:
I had 4 hours of fragmented sleep (52% efficiency), N1 18%, N2 44%, N3 19%, REM 19%. I had 89 arousals and 39 awakenings with an AI of 22. I had 2 OSA events while in REM and lying in the supine position. I had 1 CSA event while in REM and lying on my left side. No hypopneas. My AHI was 0.7. SATs stayed above 90% all night. My RDI was 8.2 per hour with 31 RERA's.

I still have his mobile number and of course I know his full name and occupation. He's in the armed forces and I know where's he's based but don't have his service number or any specific details.
Is there any way CSA could find out the information I don't have themselves?
Cyclosporin (brand name Atopica) is a relatively new oral medication which can be used as a non-steroid way to reduce allergic skin inflammation and itching. It is helpful in approximately 80% of allergic dogs to control itch. Cyclosporin is given orally daily for 4-6 weeks, then the dose and frequency is slowly decreased to the lowest possible dose needed for comfort.
Also, as a result of being on such a high dose of cyclosporin I tended to feel very sick for 2-4 hours after taking the medicine (fever like symptoms). If I did not carefully avoid sick people I would become extremely ill and even at one point was hospitalize for 4 days because my immune system grew so weak. Infections began to appear on my legs over time and I began to take antibotics along with the cyclosporin.

Both my wife and I have very dry eyes and both of us have been on Restasis (cyclosporin) for years with excellent results. I understand from postings from the UK this is difficult to get there.
He told us to wait till the cyclosporin is stopped. When the cyclosporin was stopped, we waited for 45 days and had a HCV quantitative done. It was 1420000IU/ML ie 88% less than the last test conducted and SGOT/SGPT levels were 60/109. I had also gone through some articles on HCV which stated that out of 100 people who gets infected, 15 will get rid of the virus without any treatment.
The ER doctor diagnosed me with Herpes Keratitis yesterday. I had been taking Restasis(Cyclosporin eye drops BID) and had many of the symptoms of side effects of that drug including low neutraphils, redness and swelling of eyelids, itching, feeling of foreign object in my eye, pain on administration of drops.
I believe this is a drug reaction not Herpes Keratitis. What do you think?
I am a 58 year old male diagnosed with CSA ten years ago. Currently on VPAP. I developed fibromyalgia 10 months after the diagnosis. I have experienced progressive muscle weakness, pain and atrophy, particularly in the legs, with significant loss of energy and quality of life, especially in the cold months of the year.
In my state, a Surgical Physicians Assistant is different than a CSA and it would be rare for a CSA to perform actual procedures on patients. Surgical Physician Assistants will do this sometimes so was confused which end of the spectrum you were on. Thanks for clearing that up. Sounds like you have worked in the field for a long time.
