Cyclobenzaprine is it a narcotic

Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine is it a narcotic

flexeril

917815 tn?1377498254 It is often not a matter of taking a narcotic, it taking a pill. The behavior of "taking something to help with this or that" is what gets us into trouble. It is that constant looking for something to make us "feel" different whether it is better or out of pain. I hope this makes sense to you because the drug may not be addictive but the ritual is.
Avatar m tn The Acetaminophen/Butal/Caffeine is called Fiorocet and is considered a Narcotic. A prescription is needed for this and if you have one, you should be alright if you were up front with the employer and told them that you were taking it. Please take care and good luck.
Avatar m tn Celebrex is a medication similar to aspirin, ibuprophen, and many others in a class called NSAID for Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drug. Weight gain is not one of the side effects of NSAIDs. Perhaps since you are having less pain, you are eating better or getting more exercise? Muscle tissue weighs more than fat. Or perhaps your disability is making you less active and causing the weight gain.
Avatar n tn They are similar to soma - not as strong - flexeril is cyclobenzaprine (check spell)and soma is carisprodol.......
Avatar f tn me too....I take zanaflex. My leg will just ache....like a toothache, it is terrible.
Avatar f tn Olanzapine, (Zyprexa) is NOT a narcotic.
Avatar f tn Tramadol is highly addictive and about to become a classified narcotic, as it is more dangerous to suddenly withdraw from than heroin, like many of the sedatives out there, even tho it is technically a synthetic narcotic - be careful because that addiction can just sneak up on you! and Steve, I hear you. I was taking 40 of them a day and the only thing that got me off them was suboxone, which unfortunately I am still taking 3 years later.
Avatar f tn I need to retract that. Fioricet is not an opiate but it is considered a narcotic drug in that it produces stupor, coma, and insensitivity to pain. It is,also, scheduled as any other narcotic.
Avatar f tn Your body is used to getting this medication. It is going to be looking for it. This is just my opinion, I am not a doctor. I have taken flexeril, could not take more than a 1/4 or I would feel very odd. Maybe that was a good thing. You can get a pill cutter and start cutting your dose. We aren't allowed to talk about how to dose hopefully you can get the jist of this. While trying to wean down I would up your vitamins.
Avatar n tn 55am, I forgot I took the celexa and I took Cyclobenzaprine. Do you think is something I should be worry? I looked online about the drug interaction and they say could be deadly. I am very worry. Any advice of what I can do? Do I gonna be okay? How long apart I can take those two medications?
199177 tn?1490498534 Some facts on tramadol its highly addicting .,Its a synthetic opiate and is not to be used by people who have addiction issues .It is also a double whammy because not only does it work for pain but it also works as an ssri anti depressant . If you abuse it and take more then the max dose you are putting your risk of seizures .The wd coming off this drug is far worse then any other drug I have ever taken. There are hundereds on this board that have been addicted to tramadol .
Avatar n tn Mobic is an NSAID pain reliever (same class of drugs as ibuprofen, motrin, aleve) and not a narcotic so the addiction potential is very very low. You should be fine as long as you have no stomach issues as NSAIDS tend to aggravate those symptoms or if taken in excess, create stomach problems. Good luck to you! I think the Mobic is a much better alternative to pain management than any narcotic.
Avatar f tn This is day two and I find it a remarkable improvement. I take it once a day in the evening and it seems the main sleepiness side effect is over while I sleep while the benefits remain the next day. I was just wondering if anyone else is taking this drug and what your experiences with it have been? I think I am going to call my doctor and ask him to fill out a perscription for it.

Avatar n tn Hi, Tingling in hands and feet and muscle twitches is a side effect of Cyclobenzaprine. It may be aggravated due to prolonged sitting in a position for a long time. You have gone for MRI of the neck. Please go for an MRI of the entire spine. There could be a nerve compression in the lumbar region caused by improper posture or prolonged sitting. Please go for physiotherapy and a neurologist consultation after going for the MRI of spine. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
Avatar f tn the only thing i've seen that is a small capsule that is green and yellow is prozac? but, that was a long, long, time ago......I would take it to a pharmacy.......... Nauty............
Avatar f tn t be confused by the term scheduled drugs. This is how the DEA classify different narcotic type medications or a better term might be the most addictive and abused medications. Formal Scheduling The Controlled Substances Act (CSA) places all substances which were in some manner regulated under existing federal law into one of five schedules. This placement is based upon the substance's medical use, potential for abuse, and safety or dependence liability.
1155483 tn?1262432647 As with any NSAID (which Toradol is), there is a increased risk for stomach issues with it, including gastro bleeding. Nausea and vomiting is quite common. Another thing to consider with the NSAIDS is that they can also raise blood pressure, so if you have a blood pressure problem (and even if you don't) - you need to watch it very carefully taking this type of medication.
Avatar n tn Can I took two tablets of ic oxycodone 5-325, can I take my ic cyclobenzaprine 5 mg with it?
2085202 tn?1373199740 Did the breathing issue only happen when you were sleeping? Could it be sleep apnea? I agree with BluCrystal...think it is time to see your MD. Perhaps he/she could switch you to something that may be more effective. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Doctors are hesitant to prescribe it as it is a narcotic, and therefore has the potential to be addictive. You might want to look for a neurologist who specializes in headaches.
Avatar n tn But I came to this forum and found that it is not at all uncommon to be drug tested when taking narcotic medications. So that is something that I can accept. However, we do deserve to be treated with respect. That is why I am switching to another doctor and I would advise you the same. Several doctors I saw before I stuck with this one felt the same way. I was in constant pain and my last doctor thought on Vicodin every 12 hours as needed was sufficient.
