Cyclobenzaprine flexeril

Common Questions and Answers about Cyclobenzaprine flexeril

flexeril

Avatar f tn You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
917815 tn?1377498254 If you absolutetly need something I think that flexeril is your best option. I used it and you are right, it just puts me to sleep which might be what you need. Of course, don't drive while taking it...you know the routine...Good luck!

Avatar f tn Welcome to the medhelp neurology forum. Flexeril or cyclobenzaprine or baclofen are not associated with hoarseness of voice. More plausible causes of hoarseness of voice need to be checked like acute laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, allergies, gastro esophageal reflux, smoking, thyroid problems, trauma to larynx, parkinson’s disease and trauma to larynx. Consult an otolaryngologist who will evaluate the causes and treat likewise.
Avatar m tn I just remembered that about a year ago I was prescribed some muscle relaxers for my neck (Cyclobenzaprine). Do you guys think that if I take one or two of them when I am having a hard time sleeping from the restless legs s**t that it will help me sleep?
Avatar m tn Hello xLadyMX, Welcome to our Pain Management Community. I'm glad that you found us and took the time to post your question. Please excuse my tardy response. I encourage you to ask your Pharmacist this question also. Avoid the Pharm Tech is you are not getting information. You'll probably have to ask to talk to the Pharmacist - or you can even call. Pharmacists are an excellent source and very often know more than our Medical Providers in terms of medications.
5657776 tn?1371799886 I am supposed to take another 300mg in the morning. I took the 600mg at like 9 pm. It is now almost 3am so I took 20 mg of cyclobenzaprine and the am dose of gabapentin. Is this safe? Like I said I am new to these meds and want to make sure I am not overdoing it.
Avatar m tn However it was not as effective as cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) for muscle spasms. Frequent warm baths go hand and hand with these drugs, at least in my humble opinion. I hope this information is helpful. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
1653969 tn?1390331661 How long have you been clean from the hydrocodone? Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) is a popular muscle relaxer these days - and it only presents very limited problems with it being a drug of abuse. The instant sleep thing will go away after you establish a routine with it. Wish that I could really help you - but yours isnt a common complaint with flexeril. Do you do any breathing exercises?
Avatar f tn I use Flexeril (Cyclobenzaprine) 10 mg every night at bedtime. If I don't, my feet an calves will remind me in the middle of the night.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi I have been taking Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine) for about 9 months now (doctors request). I have noticed that my heart beat has been skipping a couple of beats. Then, lately it is skipping more and I feel very tired in the afternoon. On Saturday my palms of my hands turned blue for about 15 seconds. I have gone to my GP and had a 12 lead ECG and the doctor said my ECG was normal and the heart sounds very strong. I understand a PVC (periventricular contraction) may not be seen on an ECG.
Avatar m tn I presume you know that Amrix is the extended release of form of cyclobenzaprine which is better know as Flexeril. It is a muscle relaxer. I have not taken Amrix but I have taken Flexeril periodically in the past and initially when diagnosed with SIJ Dysfunction about 6 years ago. I tried unsuccessfully to adjust to the medication. It made me drowsy. Than I began taking it only in the evenings and upon waking I had a "hang over" feeling.
Avatar m tn Anyway I am already on Valium (for years) and Lamitctal However the ER doc prescribe oxycodone, flexeril, and for some reason ativan? Which I kept telling them i don't understand since i am already on 20mg valiums? They kept saying they will ask and the Doctor said she would update my med information but when i got home I saw they did not update any information and she wrote to take all 3 with no comment on the valium i already been on for years?

Avatar f tn Flexeril (CYCLOBENZAPRINE) is a CNS-active muscle relaxant. It does not work on the muscle, or the nerve that activates the muscle (a motor nerve). It acts on the brain stem, where pain signals are transmitted from the spinal cord. It may also have some activity within the spinal cord. Both these organs of the central nervous system (CNS) are very complex -- they challenge today's medical knowledge. In other words -- we don't know all they do in processing pain.
Avatar m tn Muscle relaxants like carisoprodol (Soma), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), and even diazepam (Valium), and clonazepam (Klonipin) are not narcotic agents, although the last two are benzodiazepines. Ask your doc about dantrolene (Dantrium).
Avatar f tn Rosemary, I was in the same boat for several years with very severe leg cramps. The only thing that helped me was a prescription for flexeril, a muscle relaxer that blocks nerve impulses. The generic is cyclobenzaprine. I take 10 mgs. before bed, and it's very effective. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Can I take Hydrocodone 10/325, Cyclobenzaprine 10mg, and Tramadol 50mg together safely?
Avatar f tn Current list of meds Topiramate (topamax) 50mg 1 tablet 2 times daily, Amitriptyline 100mg 1 tablet at bedtime, Cyclobenzaprine (flexeril) 10mg 1 tablet at bedtime, and Butalbital/APAP/Caffeine (fioricet) 1 tablet to 2 tablets every 4 to 6 hours as needed. And my ENT has me on Diazepam 2mg 1 tablet 3 times daily. I'm wondering if it is the Topamax, or the combination of meds, or the Chiari? I guess I'll have to play phone tag with the NL office today and see what they think.
232328 tn?1207090071 Hi there. I was prescribed flexeril today for some back pain. Can anyone tell me exactly what it is? If it is addicting? Will it make me sleepy/hyper, etc?
Avatar m tn Does anyone know very much about Flexeril? I just received an call from someone that thinks they may have overdosed on it. He usually does not take it and took up to ten 10mg tablets today and feels somewhat out of it. 100mg in one shot shouldn't do too much should it? He is in No. CA and I'm in So. CA so I can't get to him. Should I be concerned about him not waking up? Apparently he took six of them yesterday and I read the half life is 1-3 days.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
