1322901 tn?1274615330 I was looking up Copaxone and Sun Sensitivity and found your post. - so I joined this site. I started taking Copaxone Feb 18th this year. I am cold sensitive and I love the sun, I lived in LA for 3 yrs because of the beach close by....Yesterday I was outside for the first time since starting the meds, I got severly burned I was outside for over 4 hours, now I am in pain, I live in Ohio as well, and worship the sun,,,,,,I guess only a couple hours at a time is what I will have to do..........
Avatar f tn I am still having problems and I am wondering if there is any other help available for people who suffer with hives due to the sun? I try to apply sun block and stay covered up, but if I go swimming this is hard to do. My problems are made worse if I am out in the sun and I touch plants (weeding the garden). I have many environmental allergies as well.
Avatar m tn t know if it was the combination of swimming and the acne regiments that he has been doing, but now he has developed a sensitivity to the sun just on his face and neck. He describes it as a HOT frying pan sitting on his face the minute he is in the sun. It alters his mood because he is in pain. He has stopped swimming, stopped using any acne regiment, skipped any fun in the sun this summer, and sits in the dark. He has been diagnosed with a mild rosacea, is negative for lupus.
Avatar n tn Not unbearable but bad enough to see a dermatologist who told me I am alergic to the sun - stay out of sun and wear sun block. I stay out of the sun. It is five years later. I went to a second dermatologist who took a biopsy of one of the itchy bumps that have become a new symptom. She told me I have a drug alergy and I should have my primary physician change my medications. I told her the only drug I take is lorazapam.
Avatar n tn I have also had many tests to make sure the retina is not torn, etc. My doctor has been very thorough. However, I have sun sensitivity in the eye with the pvd which I am told is " normal, " sometimes. Can someone give me some insight into this? Should I be concerned, more careful to wear sunglasses, and so forth.
Avatar f tn Can HIV cause a person to be more sensitive to the sun?? ie get rashes and such??
176741 tn?1295233989 Anyone have experience with photo-sensitivity? Basically a sun allergy that causes sun to react with chemicals in cosmetics, skin creams...even sunscreen? I am completely broken out in contact dermatitis. I was in the sun 7 days ago with sunscreen on. Anyplace I applied sunscreen and allowed sun to penetrate, I have a terribly bumpy rash. I've read that I should look for sunscreens using zinc oxide for future use. Have any of you dealt with this before? Rash is now on day 7...
577132 tn?1314266526 It's 11am here (Auckland NZ) and it's already 31 degrees outside and I feel like there are red ants crawling all over my scalp stinging me. I have currently got a frozen gel pack strapped to my forehead, it's straight out of the freezer and truly it feels like it is luke warm. It's like I have no thermal control anymore. I have always been a heat lover, but now I am becoming a sun hater. My skin has become radioactive and I have no cooling system...
Avatar n tn I could see that now my skin is very sensitive to sun and started getting brown and also shows sign of small dry skin kind of feeling. Any suggession / medicine to get rid of this issue.
Avatar f tn My son wears contact lenses since years, He always had trouble with bright light or sun( even when he was only wearing glasses) ,; with bright light or sun he has a hard time to keep his eyes open and at time can not see because he feels the light too bright even if light not that bright ( and his eyes also feel swollen at that time) My son says it is getting worse with years.
Avatar f tn Hello, I have sort of an odd thing that has been going on for a couple of years. Every time I go out in the sun for a while I get really nauseas and weak. Headaches sometimes occur, but not as much as the nausea; my stomach gets really upset and sometimes I vomit. Yesterday it was a nice sunny day and I was outside for about a half hour and it happened. It lasts through the next day as well and is accompanied by even more weakness.
1713150 tn?1314467342 My chance to add to the bouqet. Copaxone does have a very small type size warning about sun sensitivity. Take it slow and see how you do. Don't forget the sunscreen - it needs UVA and UVB protection to be effective. Try some precooling before you go out in the sun and see if that allows you to spend more time doing what you love.
Avatar f tn t typical reactions from Copaxone. Sensitivity to light makes this sound more like a migraine and the combo with neck pain might indicate a tension or cluster headache. Have you had any of these before? Of course any headache can make a person want to close out light and the world. I'm afraid you'll have to persist a bit and see if a pattern develops. I'd hate to see you give up on Copaxone after waiting so long for the opportunity to start a disease modifying treatment.
640719 tn?1277140030 I too have the tingly burning sensation after 10 days on doxy and being at beach for one hr.. its on the tops of my hands and feet! If you don't want this feeling don t go in the sun! And I don't burn from the sun.. just finished meds today was on it for an abscecc brewing in my neck.. so I don't think its lyme disease related...
Avatar f tn I went on vacation three months into tx and have been a sun tan person my whole life. First day in sun within an hour I got little red dots all over and they itched!! Stayed out of sun unless I had on light clothes. I asked this question when I got BACK from vacation! LOL. Someone suggested child's strength sun block after I mentioned smells make me nauseas. Be careful.
1323278 tn?1298122488 According to all of their literature and research, patients on Copaxone are NOT sun-sensitive. There are some drugs that warn you to stay out of the sun, but Copaxone is not one of them. I hope that little bit of information is useful.
739294 tn?1235689667 I know folks can develop a sun sensitivity from some meds. I've never taken either of these you've mentioned. Years ago I did develop a sensitivity from BC pills. At work I noticed if I sat outside during lunch, by the time I came back in I had a rash all over my arms and face, tiny little bumps just where my skin was exposed.
Avatar f tn The swelling has mostly disappeared, however, a blister still remains on my upper lip as well as some sensitivity and numbness. (FYI three clear blisters formed while my lips were swollen but all have healed except for one). Wondering what this might be and if taking Benadryl at this point might still be helpful?
Avatar n tn I was just searching about Yaz and sun sensitivity. My summer has been pretty bad with trying to stay out of the sun. I get little raised bumps and then it itches. What about you?
382218 tn?1341181487 Just want to share this with those who may be new to Copaxone and having trouble. Initially I found the sting and buring to be quite uncomfortable, so it's nice to see that my body appears to have adjusted well to this foreign invader.
Avatar f tn She says my legs are spastic on exam, my gait is completely out of whack and combined with the MRI and my complaints, it all fits. She thinks I may have had RRMS for 20 years. In the mid 80's I had a sudden vision change (from 20/75 to 20/400) in a matter of a couple of years, thought I just had crappy vision :). Anyway, I have had odd "episodes" off and on since then. I always had a rational explaination for whatever was happening.
