contractions or gas pains

Im having back pains with it

I'm 38 weeks & 4 days pregnant with baby #2 and I have been having what feels like gas pains off and on all night and all day today. My stomach will tighten like contractions and it hurts. The only thing is I don't have to pass gas or go potty at all. So could these be labor contractions or just gas? I was induced with my first so I never felt what it was like to actually go into labor. Please help!!

It feels kimda like bad gas pains but i havent burped or anything. Nor have i felt the urge to. What is it and what do i do??

So I feel like I have gas pains like if I had to fart or poop but I try and I cant. Sometimes its real intense that I cant walk or bend over. Is it just gas or what else couldnit be?? Lots of pressure in pelvic area ah its horrible. Im 38w4d.

So since I got up this morning I've had a pain in my stomach and it hasn't gotten any worse but it hasn't eased up either. Could it be contractions or just gas? I don't wanna go to ER unless I have to.

Can they feel like bad gas pains? I'm a second time mom, but never felt contractions with my first. I've got this pain that feels like I have bad gas, but it won't break down (fart), but it will get more intense every couple minutes or so. Nothing I'm concerned or paniced about, just curious to if this could be what contractions feel like. I'm 35wks today.

Just went thru this last night went to the hospital because I was have contractions every 4-5 mins but sent me home bcuz im not dilated. You'd know if you were having contractions your whole tummy tightens up and it almost feels like period cramps while your stomach tightens up usually can last anywhere from 30 seconds to 60 seconds.

No....not mistaken for contractions, but definitely have had the worse gas pains of my life while being pregnant, now I know how babies feel with excess gas :( no wonder they cry.

Start timing them because for my first son everyone said it feel like bad period cramps or gas pains... to me my period cramps felt wayyy worse so if it wasnt for my mom being down here with me and telling me look you are in labor we need to go to the hospital I was probably going to have the baby on my bed!! I was 7cm when I got to the hospital and still felt pretty good to be in labor...

I was on the gas with my second. And it helped me. It helps you breathe through the contractions and it also knocks you out for a minute or two or till the next contraction comes. I heard stories from my fiancè the next day after i gave birth and i dont remember doing anything.

When I went into labor with my daughter, my contractions felt like gas pains and constipation, so I didn't know that I was in labor until several hours later when I started timing them. They were 4 minutes apart by then.

I am either having the world's strongest gas pains or these contractions are getting super strong! Did anyone else's contractions feel like horribly strong gas pains? Super sharp? They come and go. It literally feels like someone is taking a knife to my uterus all the up my sides into my arms. Please answer. I need to know if this could just be bc I'm super gassy or my contractions are getting stronger... I'm literally in tears...

( i thought i needes to pass gas or use the bathroom and nothing, no gas will pass and i feel horrible, even when i walk or move my stomach hurts. someone please help.

i'm a ftm and i'm 39w4d.. everyone keeps describing contractions as a tightening of the entire stomach and that are timeable.. for about the last hour or so I've been having severe pains that are about 3 to 5 minutes apart and about a minute long but they don't really feel like tightening. it's more a feeling of severe gas pains.. only i've been trying really hard to go to the bathroom and i'm not! has anyone ever experienced pain like this before?

Does anyone have gas like crazy and stomach pains?? And you feel like you have to use the bathroom and all that comes out is gas?? Is that normal?? Or do I need to get checked out on that?

Ok so I need help from you guys...do contractions feel like bad menstrual cramps or gas pains? I've been having pain like that all afternoon but nothing is real consistent or anything. Is this Braxton Hicks?

Hi I am only 31 weeks tomorrow and i have been having like cramping and i do not know if i am having contractions or gas pain? i feel like i need to go to the bathroom but i can't when i had my last nonstress test there were small bumps on the contraction line but i didnt feel most of them and the dr would not see me after the test. i feel like i get crampy for a few minutes then it goes away but i dont think my stomach is getting harder it always feels hard.

It could be contractions! I would call the doctor or go to the ER and get checked! Could be pre~term labor!!!! Regardless, it's better safe than sorry! Good luck, keep updating!!

I'm 39 weeks and 1 centimeter dilated but not sure what contractions feel like, I've felt like I've had cramps like I have really bad gas but not sure if that's contractions or not...

So I'm 41 weeks and I feel like I'm starting my period. Just really terrible cramps. I've heard that's what contractions feel like. I also feel like i have to poop, like i have gas pains but i cant go. I've felt awful all day and have really bad back pain as well. I don't know what to think!

if you are having pains and want to know whether they are contractions or not, then feel your belly when you have the pain if it is so hard like a rock then it is a contraction, if it isn't then it is eight Braxton hicks or gas...
