I was on Mobic for a year or so and never had any issues besides stomach pain (which any NSAID's can cause) I get stomach pain with any NSAID's. Mobic wasn't really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex.
4, my ferritin is 5, hemocrit is 33, I have a headache everyday, and am really tired, I also have pains in my chest that come and go, I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with heartburn, so I have been taking nexium everyday, but I also have arthritis and was taking Celebrex. Since the blood work and the results the doctor told me to stop taking the Celebrex and just to take Tylenol instead. The doctor now wants me to have an upper GI evaluation. What could possibly be wrong?
Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
This time he prescribed Celebrex. I learned that afternoon that there is no generic for Celebrex and it costs over $200. So, I went back to see him and he prescribed Mobic and tested me for Hepatitis. I'm still not clear on his reason for that last part, but hey, I'm no doctor.
I've been on Mobic for a month now and I don't feel any better. I don't know where else to go if this isn't an orthopedic issue.
I agree with Geminigirl that Celebrex might be a good option for you as it is specifically formulated to help with osteoarthritis pain. Celebrex is COX-2 inhibitor type NSAID and it is linked to heart attack and stroke. If you have high blood pressure, this medicine may not be the right fit even if it is controlled by blood pressure medications. And over time, NSAIDs increase blood pressure so that is a long term side effect that should be considered.

I would really appreciate your comment as you seem to be well read in areas that are relevant to my injury with many years of chronic neuropathic ... and DDD cervical and lumbar pain with radiated inflammation.

I think that Mummy3too and dontunderstand are right. Why don't you call your insurance and ASK them if they will cover the Celebrex and the 10/325's and for how many and see what they say!!
Then you'll know what's going on here for sure.

I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in ..
They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
yes it is but the price is about 50-100usd per month instead of about 700-1000usd per month since there is so much competition of many brands in india so drug makers can t make same prices and must adapt to local market prices
baraclude lost patent recently so another brand from israel may be available worldwide soon of course at much cheaper price
I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time.
Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

appt. in April. The last Dr. i saw recommended I try Tamoxifen. Reading other comments suggests that tamoxifen is for premenapause women so why did that dr. prescribe that for me? Since I am 74. Reading other comments suggests that arimedex leads to weight gain. that I do not want.
Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic,for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels.
A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
