1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later. So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?
Avatar n tn According to the Combivent website, the only difference between Combivent MDI and COMBIVENT RESPIMAT is the delivery system.

Avatar f tn Dear All, My son is three years old, sometimes he has a constant cough and I use for him 1ml combivent and 1ml pulmicort in the nublizer, these days combivent is out of stock, can i use pulmicort alone and what is the recommended dosage. Please advise.
Avatar n tn I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
Avatar n tn Not sure if that is correct, but I had 1 puff (not the full dose of 3 puffs) of Combivent about 4 1/2 or 5 hours before the test. Would that make the numbers completely unreliable? Seems like it wouldn't have that much affect, but I'm hoping someone knows. Do I need to retake? Your advice would be very much appreciated.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know if an inhaler ( I use combivent) can aggravte PACS and PVCS? I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?
Avatar n tn Yes, it feels like I don't need the combivent regimen since I started the flovent. I use the combivent mainly before exercise with 02. . Unfortunately my insurance is minimal and I only get to see my pullmanary doctor who proscribes these meds, once every six months. Next I see him I will have a list of questions; partial derived from the excellent discussions on this board. Thanks to all for these discussions.
212161 tn?1599427282 I use advair twice a day and combivent when my asthma kicks in and i don't notice much racing when i use em
Avatar f tn if there will no effect of salt inhaler so there will be no side effect too
Avatar n tn do you find nebulizers help?
Avatar n tn ve recently had an asthma attack due to spring pollen and other related environmental condition that increase during this season. I take a Combivent inhaler as a rescue treatment for my asthma. The problem at this point is that is a provides short relief and has choked me to the point of passing out. Could you please tell me what is causing this reaction. What would be a better method and inhaler. This discussion is related to <a href='http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Advair and Spiriva is a common combination of meds for COPD patients. However, you should also have a rescue inhlaer containing some form of albuterol. Combivent is another option used by many COPD patients. It contains albuterol and ipatropium. Combivent may be off the market in the US though as the EPA has banned the use of CFC's propelants in inhalers. I don't think they were able to reformulate this medication to fit these new laws.
Avatar n tn recently diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. hospitalized three times: finally determined that i'm allergic to sulfate based albuterol, combivent, all of the usual "suspects." i'm now on advair (one week= 115 ) and doing okay - except the only rescue inhaler i can tolerate is primotene mist. just took an oximeter test - came out 86-87. i think it's too soon to go on oxygen, until we see if advair works. but i worry about the advair too.
Avatar n tn s sometimes a productive cough. I was told I have asthma and I get sinus infections. I use an inhaler (Combivent) but that doesn't stop the coughing. It will get so bad that I will start to gag. One interesting thing is that when I lay down, I have no inclination to cough. Could it be my tonsils? Should I see an ENT?
Avatar n tn You might try asking your doctor to prescribe Combivent/Duoneb. This is an already prepared mixture of Albuterol and Ipratropium. It is available as an inhaler, as well as a nebulizer solution. Although you can ask your doctor to be sure, Pulmicort should probably be taken separately.
Avatar n tn I do use Spiriva every 36 hours, Albuteral inhalers and Combivent inhalers daily. I have a nebulizer but try to avoid using that; only if I do have a cold and a lot of phlegm to get rid of. Doctors, especially in the USA are of little help. Here, they actually care and are helpful. It is also a lot less expensive, obviously, to buy medications because no prescriptions are necessary unless it is a narcotic. You can get medical consultations for $2-$35 USD instead of having to mortgage your home.
689528 tn?1364135841 I give Kaelynn puffs between meals. I try not to give them to her very often. maybe once a day and only like 5-6 of them.
Avatar n tn My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
203342 tn?1328737207 Wait about 5 more months, and if you are at the grocery store and a baby pops out while you are trying to decide between Cocoa Puffs and Fruit Loops, then YOU WERE PREGNANT! It never fails! Its 100% accurate!! Then you can sell your story to TLC, and get on that I DIDN'T KNOW I WAS PREGNANTE show.
Avatar f tn Nasal and throat cultures test negative except for rhinovirus. Albuterol (qid) Combivent (BID) combined treatment resolved shortness of breath finally so dropped albuterol and combivent... but cough still persists. Follow up again with Pulm increased dosage of Flovent to 110. Sorry so detailed, just wanted to convey that we have tried MANY approaches. He is still coughing. Albeit less frequently on some days, but still very bronchial cough. Wet, non productive. No drainage and No fevers EVER.
Avatar f tn Okay ladies after not smoking since I was 6weeks pregnant I caved in and took 3 puffs off a cigarette today.... Can just taking 3 puffs seriously harm my baby? Or cause early labor? I'm 25 weeks pregnant and I feel so bad after doing that I don't want to do it again I don't want any negative feedback...
Avatar n tn t been able to sleep hardly at all. This has never happened before. I take combivent and flovent 2 times a day and have been doing this for a long time. I don't understand why I can't sleep when nothing has changed for me. I have tried pm meds and also ambien with no luck sleeping. What is going on for this to happen to me?
1844885 tn?1330536610 re talking about how many puffs you get out of each one, that will vary like sralcia said - usually somewhere around 200 puffs per inhaler - which, if used every 4-6 hours (2 puffs each time) - will last you about 30 days. If you're asking how long the effects of the med lasts - they can usually be used every 4-6 hours.
Avatar n tn The doctors increased his flovent from 44 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, to 110 mcg 2 puffs twice a day, proventil 2 puffs as needed (doing this often these days), nasonex 1 squirt each nostril once a day, singulair 4mg cheable once a day, zyrtec cough medicine as needed. He has been completely allergy tested blood, and skin tests he only has a mild egg white allergy (doctors aren't concerned), he's had his adenoids removed, and ear tubes put in. No reflux is suspected.
