Long acting forms are not recommend for use by asthmatics unless they are also being used with a corticosteroid as in Advair (Symbicort and Dulera as well). Short acting forms are a form of albuterol. They last about four hours and are considered the rescue inhaler.
Advair and Spiriva is a common combination of meds for COPD patients. However, you should also have a rescue inhlaer containing some form of albuterol. Combivent is another option used by many COPD patients.
ve tried spiriva and dulera, combivent and xopenex and I still have some blockage/wheezing when I exhale. I have low oxygen at 75% in my sleep and can't sleep and have terrible fog for days and exhaustion for 2 years with the sleep apnea

Have noticed since I have recovered increased irritation/ obstruction on days I take it. I stopped taking it for 9 days and all irritation stopped and I moved air more deeply into my lung. Sats stayed up better when I exercised. However now I have congestion, is there anything else I could take?
Had facial, tongue, etc swelling on Advair and alarming bronchspasm on Symbicort.
I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
first I tried Abuterol and it took about a week and it was an incredible relief , so I went back to my doctor and started taking Advair and took about a month to start working and I'm still taking it and it works great.
Excerise:get yourself a heart rate monitor and do the same activity your doing now and record your peak heart rate during your workout.Pick a time limit( I used 30mins) and recorded the starting rate and ending rate.

One of the medications is called Pulmicort. This medication I use
once is the morning and once at night. The other medication is called
Bricanyl Turburhaler. Some people also call it a " puffer" or an
" inhaler". The Bricanyl I am instructed to use as needed, not every day.
I can understand why you are hesitant or scared to take prednisone.
ve never had a reason to monitor my blood pressure, but I looked up the side-effects of Symbicort and it says changes in blood pressure can occur. There was also a warning to use caution in patients who have severe high blood pressure. As far as I can tell, there are no known interactions between Symbicort and blood pressure medicines. If you're concerned about how high your blood pressure gets after taking Symbicort, I'd talk to your doctor.
will be starting on champix and will be done with ciggarretes in 2 weeks but i was told if i take ventalin and smoke pot it could kill me and i currently take symbicort and ventalin (salbutamal sulphate) but i asked a nurse about if i was to smoke sum pot one day if i didnt take the ventalin all day would i be ok and she said yes but i would like a professionals information so my question is it ok for me to take symbicort and smoke on occasion?

THE DRS. I HAD PREVIOUSLY HAVE PRESCRIBED ME COMBIVENT INHALER AND ALBULTEROL BREATHING TREATMENTS. THE REASON THEY PRESCRIBED THESE IS I CAN USE MY HUSBAND'S VA PROVIDES IT FOR HIM. I've recently had an asthma attack due to spring pollen and other related environmental condition that increase during this season. I take a Combivent inhaler as a rescue treatment for my asthma. I have been taking symbicort for about 8 months and in that time i notice that my weight has gone up by around 1 stone (14llbs), i have never been overweight and have always eaten healthily and taken exercise. No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.
I started a new Job in October and ever since then I have had difficulty breathing and some days I lose my voice almost totally. I have been in and out of the Dr and now using Symbicort and taking prednisone. It is wierd this only happens during the week while I am at work. Weekends seen to be fine after a little time away. Is this Asthma or am I alergice to my workplace? Should I test the air quality?
