combivent

Avatar n tn According to the Combivent website, the only difference between Combivent MDI and COMBIVENT RESPIMAT is the delivery system.
Avatar n tn You might try asking your doctor to prescribe Combivent/Duoneb. This is an already prepared mixture of Albuterol and Ipratropium. It is available as an inhaler, as well as a nebulizer solution. Although you can ask your doctor to be sure, Pulmicort should probably be taken separately.
Avatar f tn I had breakfast this morning and then used my inhalers and my heart started doing some weird pvcs and pacs anyone else ever have this happen?
212161 tn?1599427282 I use advair twice a day and combivent when my asthma kicks in and i don't notice much racing when i use em
Avatar n tn the doctor said: "how was it “finally determined that I’m allergic to sulfate (sulfite?) based albuterol? You would want to be very sure that this diagnosis is correct before you proceed to eliminate a whole variety of foods and medicines that contain sulfite preservatives. " after you wrote i did some more research - evidently the preservative i'm allergic or sensitive to is "benzalkonium chloride BAC".
Avatar f tn Combivent is another option used by many COPD patients. It contains albuterol and ipatropium. Combivent may be off the market in the US though as the EPA has banned the use of CFC's propelants in inhalers. I don't think they were able to reformulate this medication to fit these new laws. However, since Combivent is unique, it may have gotten an exemption or extension. If you are an asthma patient, the use of anticholenergics like ipatropium and Spiriva for therapy is increasing.
1344892 tn?1276541735 i am 29 years old and have asthma for which i take 100 mg of qvar 2puffs twice daily. for the last 4 days my heart is beating very very fast, it will not slow down, it is waking me up from my sleep and is really getting me down. i went to a&e and had a chest x-ray, and it was fine. then i had an ecg and that came back fine apart from my high heart race. my blood pressure was high but then was taken again immediately after and was deemed o.k.
Avatar f tn I purchased the Omron Portable Ultrasonic Nebulizer and am using the vials of Albuterol and Ipratropium. I can only use 1/2 vial because more than that speeds my heart up too much. Can I save the last 1/2 of the vial for later use? Does anybody know of a more affordable way to get the medicine I need? I am paying out of pocket and this economy gets harder every day it seems like.
Avatar n tn do you find nebulizers help?
Avatar n tn My pulmonary specialist just gave me an Advair Diskus and increased my Albuterol breathing treatments to 4-6 daily and my Combivent Inhaler every 4 hours. I almost died from an asthma attack last weekend. I had emergency heart surgery in June and have been having arrhythmias so I'm on a heart monitor for this month. I understand that Advair causes heart palpitations. Since I'm already having trouble with my heartbeat, I'm afraid to try the Advair.
Avatar f tn Albuterol (qid) Combivent (BID) combined treatment resolved shortness of breath finally so dropped albuterol and combivent... but cough still persists. Follow up again with Pulm increased dosage of Flovent to 110. Sorry so detailed, just wanted to convey that we have tried MANY approaches. He is still coughing. Albeit less frequently on some days, but still very bronchial cough. Wet, non productive. No drainage and No fevers EVER.
Avatar n tn s sometimes a productive cough. I was told I have asthma and I get sinus infections. I use an inhaler (Combivent) but that doesn't stop the coughing. It will get so bad that I will start to gag. One interesting thing is that when I lay down, I have no inclination to cough. Could it be my tonsils? Should I see an ENT?
Avatar n tn There is a small possibility that you are allergic to the ipratropium bromide (Atrovent), which is one of the two components of Combivent. The other component is albuterol. Strange as it may seem, ipratropium bromide is made from PEANUTS, one of the foods that almost every asthmatic is allergic to. I am allergic to peanuts, but my combivent helps my asthma. No asthma medication will give long-lasting relief, if you are still exposing yourself to the trigger or triggers that are making you sick.
Avatar m tn These include Albuterol, Flovent, Combivent, Spiriva, lasix, Diamox , Clariten and Nasonex. I follow a strict diet, no fatty , greasy, fried ,alcoholic or dairy. I elevate my head in bed and lay on my left side. I had test done which include upper and lower GI series, endoscope and a fluroscope. I do everything my Doctor tells me but I am still suffering . My Doctor also suggested that I lose weight.
Avatar f tn My asthma inhaler Combivent was causing the hives. I have no problem with albuterol; it was the ipratropium bromide in Combivent causing the hives. I now stay away from any inhaler (like Spiriva) containing similar bromide components. Also check meds you take for sulphur. I can tell a new med contains sulphur when my hands itch like crazy from hives. I am also IGA deficient (immunoglobulin A deficient). Which explains why I seem to catch every cold and flu going around.
Avatar f tn there are nebulized meds like combivent and COPD meds that may help and have less side effects there seem to be some new neublized COPD meds that I saw at the doctor's office
Avatar n tn These include caffeine, pseudoephedrine (Sudafed), amphetamines, and the asthma bronchodilators albuterol/salbutamol (e.g. Proventil, Combivent, Ventolin).” In your case probably caffeine is the culprit alonf with stress. Refer: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fasciculation Once you cut down your caffeine and build up your lost iron by taking iron tablets and iron rich diet, you’ll be ok. Here is a link for you to go through for a complete list of iron rich food. http://www.loveyourbaby.
Avatar n tn I have played sports throughout my life and not been over weight. I am 21 and most of the information i can find on wheezing pertains to obese children. I have never had this problem before even after vigorous activity. About 3 months ago i developed a cough, stuffy nose, and yellow mucus. After seeing a doctor i was prescribed medicine for bronchitis and nasonex.
1398693 tn?1343684738 25 MG/3ML IN NEBU 2X a day before Advair, Singular 10 MG PO TABS, Advair Diskus 500-50 MCG/Dose in AEPB 2X a day, Qvar 80 MCG/ACT IN AERS 2 puffs 2X a day for my severe asthma and I do get relief from the Combivent only to have the chest heaviness come back hours later. So if it were from tight muscles in my chest wouldn’t the Combivent not work because is affecting the lungs and not the muscles?
Avatar f tn Dear All, My son is three years old, sometimes he has a constant cough and I use for him 1ml combivent and 1ml pulmicort in the nublizer, these days combivent is out of stock, can i use pulmicort alone and what is the recommended dosage. Please advise.
Avatar n tn I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
Avatar n tn I am using combivent(4x a day ) and serevent diskus 50mcg 2x for my moderate severe copd, I have just started Flovent 50mcg inhaler. Is this OK or should I cutdown on the combivent ?
Avatar m tn first I tried Abuterol and it took about a week and it was an incredible relief , so I went back to my doctor and started taking Advair and took about a month to start working and I'm still taking it and it works great. Excerise:get yourself a heart rate monitor and do the same activity your doing now and record your peak heart rate during your workout.Pick a time limit( I used 30mins) and recorded the starting rate and ending rate.
Avatar f tn I have arrhythmias and do use albuterol for my asthma. Albuterol is an adrenergic medication. It acts similarly to adrenalin on the body. When using an inhaler, you'll probably have a slightly accelerated heart rate and feel your heart beating (palpitations) for about 10-15 minutes. You mentioned a machine. Are you using a nebulizer at home? Again, albuterol is usually used in the nebulizer and it takes about 15 minutes to finish the breathing treatment.
Avatar m tn My husband who is 61 has AFIB. He takes albuterol and advair when needed. Are any of these drugs dangers with his AFIB?
Avatar n tn I have moderate COPD and am doing well on Duoneb (an nebulizing combination that contains albuterol) and an antihistamine. As for anything else I depend on natural supplements - vitamin B5, mullein extract, and MSM. I breathe more easily now than I have in two years. (Also Advair resulted in adrenal fatigue which I am now recovering from.
