Combination of avodart and tamsulosin

Common Questions and Answers about Combination of avodart and tamsulosin

avodart

Avatar m tn No do not change your medicines if Flomax works. Even if you stopped or switched to another type you could still have floppy iris syndrome. If it works keep on it and tell your eye surgeon. Special techniques and instruments and drops make FIS not the problem it use to be when we first saw it.
Avatar n tn Flomax works by relaxing the muscles in the bladder and prostate, which leads to improved flow of urine and fewer symptoms of BPH. It indeed can have side effects like you describe. https://www.healthline.com/health/enlarged-prostate/flomax-side-effects#side-effects It's a relatively low percentage of patients, less than 4% that have these types of side effects but none the less, that could be going on for you. Before discontinuing the med though, talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn I had agressive treatment with a combination of external radiation and Brachytherapy. I now on Uromax tablets (Tamsulosin Hydrochloride 0.4 mg) which is causing me severe pain when ejaculating. Please advice if there is anything I can as I am still very young.
Avatar m tn I'm 68 years old and have had Cataracts for over 2 years. I've been taking Avodart for over a year. Should I stop taking Avodart and wait awhile before cataract surgery or will the informed Dr be able to work with my eyes? I've never taken Flomax and have heard the warnings from the commercial and read about Flomax. I'm concerned about any complications. I'm also pretty active. Can I still swim after surgery and what are the chances of the lens shifting or coming loose?
Avatar m tn When I developed gynecomastia (which is minor and I ignore) I lowered the dose of AVODART to one twice a week which is 8/month (from 15/month). AVODART has a long half life. Will 8/month still work? I wrote to GLaxo who make Avodart and they said what you said "ask your physician". My physician is very busy and I don't want to waste his time. My next appointment is in June and I will ask at that time if I don't have an answer by then.
Avatar m tn it was in for about 10 hours, then removed. it has been 6 days since removal and i still have small traces of what appears to be skin and dryed blood in my urine.looks like small pieces of red thread in my urine. is this normal? I seen the doctor 4 days after removal and he said it was probably just from the catheter. it's been 6 days and still coming out now and then? if this is somewhat normal....how long should i expect to see this till my urine flows clean. I have no pain....
Avatar f tn A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar f tn s the downside. We have to have our prostate shrunk and medication that does it can also affect our penis. Have you had much shrinkage? Shrinkage can happen for different reasons. Even getting older an cause it, smoking, taking various medications (not just avodart), gaining weight, etc. Do you find you also have erectile dysfunction? Avodart, unfortunately, is associated with these side effects. It's unclear though how long they will last. What does your doctor say?
Avatar m tn Combining these medications may significantly increase the blood levels and effects of silodosin. This may cause blood pressure to fall excessively and heart rate to increase, especially when you rise from a sitting or lying position. The risk of other side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, heart palpitations, and priapism (prolonged and painful erection unrelated to sexual activity) may also increase.
Avatar f tn Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
Avatar m tn I am a 61-year-old, white male. In the past, I had been VERY heterosexually active. I’m not gay. I am now in an exclusive, monogamous relationship and have been for quite some time. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with BPH, and prescribed a 5-alpha reductase inhibitor. Urine stream improved. Frequency abated. I asked my urologist to consider putting me on the standard dosage of Depo Testosterone, strictly as an exogenous source of free testosterone, due to malaise, fatigue, etc.
Avatar n tn i would like ask u it is a side effect of tamsulosin .it is tempreroy or it will b permanent, how many days i should b take this medicine.
Avatar m tn I would tell your doctor. In animal models, it was shown to affect testes size and shape. It very well could be the flomax. But worth it to reduce the prostate. Any ejaculation issues?
Avatar m tn I am a male, and had 5-min sex with a woman I recently met at the end of September 2015. Biggest mistake of my entire life. In mid October, I started feeling a lot of pain in my penis, as if someone was pulling my urethra from inside. I was diagnosed with NSU, I had a slightly red meatus, and was given antibiotics. The pain did not go away, I went back to the doc and I was diagnosed (confirmed) with a UTI. I requested an HSV 1 & 2 IGG and IGM Herpeselect test at the 2 month mark.
Avatar m tn Fortunately, we have good ways of dealing with IFIS, such as intraocular epinephrine, viscoelastics, and the Malyugin Ring pupil expander. A sign of potential trouble is if the pupil doesn't dilate well in the office; this frequently indicates a more severe IFIS problem will be encountered at surgery.
Avatar m tn Is it possible to have an asymptomatic primary outbreak and then have a recurrent outbreak with lessons and prodrome? I have a female partner in a monogamous relationship and I don't want to infect her. I'm going to get an igg blood test tomorrow.
Avatar m tn I am suffering from BPH for the last 4 years and I am taking DUTASTERIDE (AVODART) and Alfuzosin . Unfortunately , these meds do not help much since few months ago. I also about a new procedure named: gat-goren (GG), that sounds as non-pervasive. Did anyone hear about the GG procedure and can share experience or knowledge about that ?
Avatar f tn The urologist then did a cystoscopy and found lots of inflammation and scare tissue and of course urine, biopsy came back fine, urine came back as infection and was put on doxycycl hyc 100mg. So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg.
Avatar n tn This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known. I’ll suggest you to discuss the same with your urologist. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
