My adult daughter has spina bifida and apperars to have a blocked lower colon. She excavates herself and can feel stool that she can not reach. She is having leaking around it. We are on vacation and wonder what we can do to help her. It is ruining her vacation.

I started the treatment 3 days ago. It’s a machine that cleans out your colon for 45 min. It’s a good way to detox. I noticed after the first treatment I had less cravings for sugar. I pretty much forgot to eat for a whole day after the first treatment bc for some reason I didn’t feel hungry (I don’t recommend not eating). After the 2nd treatment I ate light food. I ended up having a chicken Cesaer salad and it made me go straight to the bathroom.
There was no selection choice. I am wanting to know if microwave popcorn can irritate the colon/rectum and cause minor bleeding by cutting the lining?
I don't know if it's ok during pregnancy but a enema! It cleans ur colon out. I did that and then the next day we tried.
Well sounds like from the tests they did u still didn't get help. The reason I asked was cause the test I'm talking about would be to test if u might have too much iron. I had similar symptoms a lot of my life but more so when i was younger. I went undiognosed and have had many other problems go undiagnosed. Look up hemochromatosis which is very common only it was once thought it was very rare so screening for it is not standard.
Also, you might start taking vitamins/minerals to keep your body in balance. Psyllium husk is all natural and cleans as it moves through...probiotics put good flora in your colon. Whatever you do, don't give up until something works. Grapes/apples are also good.
The bowel itself is not dirty and barring drugs or disease, cleans itself naturally without need for assistance. Some types of colon cleansing present potential hazards also.

it is all over the web but I am very skeptical of it because there are all these stories out there but they are all the same just different names? they say to take the Accai Berry supplement in the morning and at night and then the Colon Cleanse supplement at night? they say they are shedding like 30 pounds in a month to a month and a half. Me and my husband have gone with him to the doctors many many times, and they always say he is constipated, and give us some medicine for that, like sorbitol, or microlax. It cleans it out a little bit, but it just keeps on going. (I live in Iceland, dont know if they have those in other countries) Recently we went to a new doctor who sent him for an xray, that found that he was really constipated, and gave him stronger medicine, senokt and laxoberal.
I am a 64 year old having a DaVinci sacrocolpopexy with hysterectomy and a bladder sling installation. My doctor plans to release me 8 hours after the surgery. I would like to have my home prepared so I can be comfortable. I have ice packs prepared as per the recommended preemie diaper icing method. But I have been given no idea what to expect, other than to fill the script for pain meds and stay off my feet.

many thanks for your reassuring comments. Did you have problems with the poweder that "cleans out " the bowel before the proceedure. Someone told me that they were awake all night on the toilet. Is it painful?
What exactly is a colectomy? My large bowel is shortened by 7 foot ( but a nurse told me there is at least 24 foot of large bowel. Is this correct?).
I know from experience exactly what you're talking about. A friend of mine experienced the exact same thing, too. We both ended up getting the gallbladder tests only to find out that the gallbladder was healthy and fine.
In short, the answer is: Yes, it is pain from the IBS. If you look at a medical chart that shows the intestines, you'll see how the colon ascends on the right side, traverses from the right side to the left, and descends down the left side.
But from the moment he opens his eyes to the moment he goes to sleep he cleans cleans cleans cleans on top of clean remodels the house works on the yard his car he stays active alllll day he gets home from work and starts doing dishes sweeping laundary cleaning the bathtub likes its sooo freakn annoying how much he does it its a 7 days a week thing !!! I am 45 and have been in good health most of my life. I have noticed a couple of times a little blood on my toilet paper and it has freaked me out thinking i have cancer.Usually it occurs after i have had to wipe myself a lot from frequent bm's. I do have a nervous colon. I had a colonoscopy 4 years ago it showed no cancer but iI do have melanosis coli ( sp?) and i do have some fecal incontinence. I am afraid to go to the doctor because my hubby is out of work and i am our only income.
I have a very similar issue. It's gone in and out since I was 18 when I started doing LSD smoking pot and drinking. I feel like I've done everything to mask/workaround this issue. Sometimes it occurs constantly.. meaning there is a very faint liquid coming from my anus I can feel. Almost like like sweat. I believe it is liquid or mucus leaking out, and the mucus has a very pungent odor. That's my guess. For me it's either fart smell or nose burning smell.
I am going to tell you something, and it is not intend to scare you, but, if fecal matter remains in the colon too long, besides the risk of colon cancer, it can deaden nerve sensitivity, I know, because it is what has happened to me. I have other health issues that caused my bowel to stop functioning altogether.

I get this intense pain in what seems to be my colon but cant say for sure just know it hurts and is intense.It can last up to ten minutes then goesaway .
Samee here!!!Im the only one that cleans at my parents house.They dont care that im having my son in 2weeks.They dont clean their own dishes or after they cook.the only time soneone cleans is on weekend.And for day.Ohhh and omg they have alot of animLs i have to feed and clean after.its grosss.I only go over my bfs once a week:( and try to get rest during the day because i cnt sleep.
