In February 2014, my doctor had asked me to stop taking Clopidogrel, and to continue taking the rest of the medications, which I did. My calf pain started to occur in April of 2014. The pain is in the middle of my right calf and always starts at the same spot.
However, the dose needs to be adjusted well. Also aspirin can be combined with Coumadin. Aspirin can be combined with clopidogrel also and reduces the risk of stroke. I have never had high blood pressure.For the last 5 years I have monitored my blood pressure 3 to 4 times a week and it is always been around 118/74 occasionally it has been 130/75 but this is usually after I have eaten.
I am a teacher but the school I work at is very good. The pupils are well-behaved.I mostly teach Year 12-13( 16-18 years) .So I don't really have a stressful life.One thing I didn't mention was in Jan 2009 I had a DVT in the leg.
s like if I want some Clopidogrel (another form of anti platelet med) I could ask for either Clopidogrel or Plavix, Plavix is the brand name the drug company trades the medication under.
My father has gone thru angiplasy few months back and he started getting Red or purple spots on the skin. He is taking deplatt and atorvasatin. I heard this can be due to deplatt(Clopidogrel). Ive only heard of proton pump inhibitors reducing the effect of Clopidogrel (plavix) but only by a tiny amount. I do have to question though if Zantac is a proton pump inhibitor anyway? Isn't it just a H2 receptor blocker?

In treating deep venous thrombosis (DVT), the main goal is to prevent a pulmonary embolism (PE). Other goals of treatment include preventing the clot from becoming larger, preventing new blood clots from forming, and preventing long-term complications.
The treatment of DVT and PE are similar. In both cases, the primary approach is anticoagulation (blood thinners).
In the CAPRIE trial, clopidogrel (plavix) was equivalent to aspirin for patients with a recent (but not acute) MI. Some subgroups of patients with cardiovascular disease in this trial seemed to benefit more from clopidogrel than from aspirin: those with a history of bypass surgery, a prior stroke or MI, arterial disease in two or more areas, diabetes, or high cholesterol. Clopidogrel may be a reasonable choice for these patients.
Evidence is available from retrospective analysis of the CPARIE trial with clopidogrel that patients who have atherosclerosis in other vascular beds, such as prior ischemic stroke or concurrent peripheral vascular disease, benefit from receiving clopidogrel over aspirin. Some cardiologists have concluded that these patients, who are at higher risk of a subsequent vascular event, would benefit from combined therapy.
Warfarin (coumadin): Because of the increased risk of bleeding, the concomitant administration of Warfarin with Plavix should be undertaken with caution. (See PRECAUTIONS - General.)
