But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

I get this strange taste in my mouth its kinda gross tasting then I get this dizzy feeling but im not really dizzy im more of the feeling that im walking around in a daze ..I went to ER already and they couldn't find anything wrong with me ..it sometimes lasts for a few minutes to several hours. Please help if you can ..im kinda worried its been going on almost a week now.
Pylori is 1000mg (1g) of Amoxicillin combined with 500mg of clarithromycin and PPI in your case Lansoprazole 30 mg - 2 times a day.
Are you allergic to any drugs? For examples penicillins? then maybe your doctor meant to write metronidazole 500mg as there is another type of treatment for penicillin allergic patients which includes metronidazole 500mg + clarithromycin 500mg + PPI.
I am 29 years old and over 2 years ago after a lot of problems, I found out I had H.Pylori. I was given a treatment at that time. Within the last couple of months I've been in very poor health and even had to take time off work. I was given two more treatments for H.Pylori and just this past week my doctor informed me I am still infected with the virus. So i'm on to treatment #4!
About a month ago I was prescribed a course of Clarithromycin for a skin infection. Since taking the drug I've suffered huge surges of adrenaline, which kicks in like a lighting shot at the point of sleep. It kept me away many nights and I was beside myself with worry. It's now more than three weeks since I stopped the medication (I only completed 2.5 days out of 7) and I find that the adrenaline surges have subsided somewhat.

If so, then I always take mine right after I eat, altho you may do better taking them before. Try both ways and see if it helps dull the bitterness. Then I'll brush my teeth and drink a sweet soda after my pills, clears the palate.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. He said even if I have an std clarithromycin should clear it up its a very strong anti-bacterial antibiotic. Is this true?

Hi, I was diagnosed with a sinus infection a few weeks ago and prescribed a z-pack, which I took with no issues. I am still feeling the symptoms in my sinuses so I went to the Dr last week and was prescribed Amoxicillin. About 20 mins after taking it I had this strange sensation on my lip...like a tingling/itching feeling and became itchy all over. I called the Dr and she prescribed Clarithromycin. I didn't want to take it right away, just in case I had a similar reaction.
Clarithromycin alone was sufficient.
That will have to end this thread. You can move on with confidence you have no STD or anything else from the 9/07 events that could ever harm you or your wife.
About 3 days ago 3/17/09 I was involved with a random unprotected oral sex activity with a female at a bachelor party. As soon as I realized how stupid I was being, I rushed to the bathroom and immediately washed with sanitation soap. I have no signs of any symptoms on my penis. I have just competed a course of clarithromycin, and continue to have nausea, salivation, and a gnawing feeling in my stomach. These symptoms are very similar to those I had while pregnant, ie morning sickness, but all day.

Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
My only concern was that if i was exposed to syphilis during the oral exposure and gave it to my partner even with the antibiotic treatment I was on(clarithromycin then doxycycline) and essentially that could have been what the lesion was on her rectum. However I assume those odds are very very low.
Hello I am Dipanjan. My mother (51 years) has been diagnosed with antral gastritis and also got a positive result for the presence of Helicobacter Pylori. She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs.
