Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
Also experiencing sensation of sitting on a golf ball in the perirectal area at times. GP did not seem concerned, no tests, but gave me clarithromycin/metronidazole 10 day dose and symptoms(mostly penile tip pain sometimes hours at a time) still persist.
Could you please offer advise as to whether this could be a ureaplasm or myco? No way this is NG/Chlam right?
Do I need any further tests,treatments,follow up?? My GP does not seem to be an expert in this area .
Some of the treatment regimens use a medication called metronidazole (Flagyl) or clarithromycin (Biaxin). These medications can cause a metallic taste in the mouth. You will need to consult a gastroenterologist for adequate therapy. Regards.

13th august - The tonsillitis returned and I was given clarithromycin! However I was in an extreme amount of pain and visited EDT. I was told I didn't have quinsy and I was sent home. I continued to take the
clarithromycin and tramadol for the pain.
23rd August The tonsillitis returned again and by the 26th August the pain was so extreme I couldn't open my mouth, move my head, talk, eat or drink.
Generally metronidazole is used in combination with Clindamycin or Clarithromycin. I think you should discuss these possibilities with your doctor. Take care!

From the information on cpnhelp.org, a combined antibiotic protocol is advised, as well as some adjunctive treatments. A macrolide (preferably clarithromycin), then doxycycline, then "pulsed" metronidazole. Other protocols have been used also.

After just talking first and second doses I have bitter taste in my mouth. In addition, I feel weak and little scared. I am thinking, may be it is side effect or the medicine just has a bitter taste.
However, if you do need antibiotics after extraction, amoxicillin and metronidazole, erythromycin( erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin) and metronidazole are commonly prescribed for periodontal infection. You may address your condern to your dentist.
Well I went on antibiotics for a completely unrelated bacterial infection (h pylori and c difficile), but it required a couple different antibiotics at the same time. I was on metronidazole, clarithromycin and doxycycline at the same time. While I felt s**t from the antibiotics themselves, my erections in the morning were rock solid, during the day rock solid, my thoughts were allowing me to achieve an erection and they were long lasting.

Pylori can be treated by quadruple therapy for one week Esomeprazole (Nexium) + Clarithromycin (clacid) + Metronidazole (flagyl) + (Lactobacillus reuteri (i.e. biogaia) after the antibiotic course it has a suppression effect on h.pylori and prevent its occurance).
So this is day nine on the prilosec and day seven on the antibiotics (Ammoxicillin and clarithromycin)for the H pylori. My symptoms are still there SOMETIMES after eating. For the most part it has been a bland diet, except for the exception of a hamburger yesterday which caused extreme discomfort. Could this be a side effect of the medicine or my stomach trying to heal still? Please let me know if I should tough it out with the antibiotics or could this be something else?
As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Niacin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin.
metronidazole (Metrogyl) + one of these: tetracycline, clarithromycin, amoxicillin. Dyrade does NOT contain any of these aditional antibiotics, but it again contains metronidazole. It is possible that yor H. pylori was cured with metronidazole only, but this was not exactly the right therapy. Yogurt was also proved to be effective.
If hitting to your back causes pain "in the liver area", this may be from gallbladder or liver disease, what can be checked with ultrasound.
