Hi my name is jennifer I been taking antibiotics for the past 2 weeks, Omeprazole 20 mg, Metronidazole 500 mg and Clarithromycin 500 mg and also I been taking my birth control pills for the past 3 weeks (Jolivette).
I jus found out today I am pregnant. I'm concer with the health of the unborn baby. I am worry if the any possibility of births defects and any other problem related to the medications.
prescribed the triple therapy which consists of Lanzoprazole 30 mg, Amoxicillin 500 mg and clarithromycin 500 mg. The problem is that she told me to take only one pill of amoxicillin (500mg) every 12 hours but it was supposed to be two pills (1g) according to FDA and other resources. I am very concerned because I know that this bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics. What should I do?, How long do I wait before I take another test to see if the bacteria is gone or not?
Also experiencing sensation of sitting on a golf ball in the perirectal area at times. GP did not seem concerned, no tests, but gave me clarithromycin/metronidazole 10 day dose and symptoms(mostly penile tip pain sometimes hours at a time) still persist.
Could you please offer advise as to whether this could be a ureaplasm or myco? No way this is NG/Chlam right?
Do I need any further tests,treatments,follow up?? My GP does not seem to be an expert in this area .
Some of the treatment regimens use a medication called metronidazole (Flagyl) or clarithromycin (Biaxin). These medications can cause a metallic taste in the mouth. You will need to consult a gastroenterologist for adequate therapy. Regards.

13th august - The tonsillitis returned and I was given clarithromycin! However I was in an extreme amount of pain and visited EDT. I was told I didn't have quinsy and I was sent home. I continued to take the
clarithromycin and tramadol for the pain.
23rd August The tonsillitis returned again and by the 26th August the pain was so extreme I couldn't open my mouth, move my head, talk, eat or drink.

i have an underactive thyroid and cannot tolerate more then 100mg of thyroxine per day i gat dizzy lightheaded anxiety i can handle 50mg no probs 75mg is a little annoying 100mg is a just bearable. so this has been the case for the last 2 yrs.
I was on metronidazole, clarithromycin and doxycycline at the same time. While I felt s**t from the antibiotics themselves, my erections in the morning were rock solid, during the day rock solid, my thoughts were allowing me to achieve an erection and they were long lasting. My ejaculation was insane, in amounts that I can barely remember seeing for years.
I feel crazy for even saying that I experienced that, what the hell just happened?
I took 1500mg of Clarithromycin ER, and 1875mg of Amoxicillin that night. The following morning took another 1gm of the Clarithromycin ER & 1375mg of Amoxicillin. Still on Day 2 (only 24 post exposure) took 500mg Clarithromycin ER. The next day, today took Amoxicillin 500mg & Clarithromycin ER 500mg & Ceftiaxone 1gm IV (prefer not to explain but I am in healthcare).
But here is my question. I ended up with a respiratory infection and the Doc gave me Clarithromycin, I have to take 2X 500mg a day for ten days. I started the medication the day of the sexual encounter.
Will Clarithromycin help clear up any of the STD's that I might have caught during the act?
There is not too much info on Clarithromycin and STD's out there. I know one thing it is sure working on my respiratory infection big time.

Clarithromycin isn't the treatment of choice for any STD. However, it would effectively prevent most cases of gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, or nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). But not all.
Antibiotics, including clarithromycin, have no effect on viruses and therefore cannot prevent herpes, HPV, or HIV.
He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed. 09/01 (6 weeks after the unprotected oral and protected vaginal) - tested negative for HIV with oral swab, waiting for Chl, Gon, Syph and Herpes at Planned Paretnhood where the Provider suggested that might be Herpetic Urethretis or Trich.
You may want to consider that some people have different reactions to medications than others. There's a case report of hepatitis consequent to treatment of h pylori with amoxycillin and clarithromycin. Pubmed ID 19946449. Not sure where the rest of post is. Day 2 - 500mg Clarithromycin & Amox 875mg that night. This morning took 500mg of both Clarithromycin & Amox, and Ceftiaxone 1gm IV. I am aware of CDC guidelines and think that this single dose of rocephin & a total of 5gm of Biaxin over 4-5 days (in place of Azithromycin) should be effective? How long should I wait to engage in intercourse with my significant other?
However, if you do need antibiotics after extraction, amoxicillin and metronidazole, erythromycin( erythromycin, azithromycin, clarithromycin) and metronidazole are commonly prescribed for periodontal infection. You may address your condern to your dentist.
She said it was not possible oral swab to be done at that clinic (just genital). She decided to start a treatment (clarithromycin and ceftriaxone) for gonorrhea (without testing and diagnosis). I hope it works if I have oral gonorrhea. Sorry to bother you. I am just worried.
Some syphilis bacteria are resistant to all macrolide antibiotics -- azithromycin, clarithromycin (Biaxin), and erythromycin. My mother (51 years) has been diagnosed with antral gastritis and also got a positive result for the presence of Helicobacter Pylori. She has been prescribed with Mox 250mg( Amoxycillin capsules), Maclar 250mg( Clarithromycin), omeprazole tabs. Will it be sufficient for the cure with regular dosage or please suggest any additional measure.

H pylori is treated with a combination of two antibiotics, beside Prevpac, this is usually metronidazole or clarithromycin. After the treatment, another breath test is recommended to see, if infection is cured.

I´ve been having this problem for 10 months now... they get better or worse somedays and definitely they go away with clarithromycin, but I cannot take it forever.
