I was just curious, I have a buddy that mentioned that he had been having some urinary symptoms such as minor burning, the dosent happen every time he urinates, clear discharge in small amounts, and some minor soreness in the urethra. Im not to sure whether its a uti, or maybe an std. He had some left over clarithromycin 500 mg about 10 days worth and he began taking that. I told him he should just get tested but he dosent have insurance currently and is unemployed.

I have not had any discharge or pain/burning while urinating but I have had pain/tickle in my urethra after urination along with pain while driving?? I went to my doctor and he swabbed me for a test for which he has not received the results from yet.

Having diarrhea after antibiotics is not rare, but also not normal. I recommend you to have stool test for C-diff and for occult blood.
Having problems with breathing is probably from the acid coming up into your throat and then down into lungs. You should fix this promptly, it may damage your lungs (aspiration pneumonia, with lung scars).
There's another possibility - alergy to one of antibiotics. Would you say you have any lips or face swelling or skin itching?
As fas as I know, nexium (esomeprazole) only interferes with biaxin (clarithromycin). It heightens the amount of esomeprazole by inhibiting the degradation of esomeprazole. It has come back. This time it recurred very briefly 3 weeks ago after some anti-biotics (clarithromycin) I had taken for 7 days. Then 1 week ago the problem came back a bit worse. No bacteria was found on a full urine test. It was perfect. Now I don't get the burn with peeing, though there is a slight burning/hot sensation in my bladder. But if I ejaculate there's a burn afterwards - which is immediately after, then 1 minute later before it calms down.

Since our last post, not only was on clarithromycin for 10 days, I was on doxycycline 100mg for 7 days for infected fire ant bite. While on Doxycycline I started to feel urgency to urinate and some dribbling after urination. (I was diagnosed last year for prostititis after being tested for bacterial std's.) I called my urologist and he suggested I go on cipro 500 twice a day for ten days. The symptoms of urinating and dribbling have not subsided.
I know I should use azithromycin with ceftriaxone for gonorrhea but she prescribed me clarithromycin. So, this is a wrong treatment for gonorrhea. I don’t know what to do with those ignorant doctors.
