Husband had gastroscopy on 23/10/13. Biopsy taken but not got results yet. Gastroscopy showed h pylori gastritis and a presence of excess bile in the stomach. Triple therapy antibiotics prescribed (lansoprazole, amoxi and clarithromycin), he says he feels a lot better, but i'm worried sick.

I just found out I'm pregnant. I tested positive with a hpt. According to all the apps and my lmp I'm at least six weeks. Up until this point I've stopped drinking caffeine and alcohol. But also up until knowing I have consumed alcohol. My Dr appt is next week...should I be worried at all that I may have hurt my baby??

I stopped drinking alcohol about 9-10 years ago. No special reason for that. I still went out with my friends and had fun, just that I was drinking non alcoholic drinks. You can have apple juice with soda, or long drinks without the alcohol and still have a good time.

my question is is it safe to drink like wine coolers or drinks like smirnoff which has the same precentage of alcohol like wine. will it mess up the baby.

I am lead to believe pumpin and dumping doesn't work. The alcohol stays in your milk while its in your system. When you sober up, your milk should be fine. But i would definitely recommend alcohol test strips to be safe.

I have been off my pain meds that the ER gave me for a few days now. No withdrawl from being off of them. I'm just in alot of pain from the nerves in my face and also in the inside of my mouth. I have gabapentin but I really don't want to take it cause of the swelling it causes me and the pain from the swelling will just add to the pain I am in plus they didn't even work. I was on percocet for a week cause of the morphine withdrawls. I guess they helped me get over the morphine.

You will get mixed answers because doctors don't know exactly how much alcohol it takes to give a child fetal alcohol syndrome. They presume it is different for everyone that is why don't say none at all and some say a few glasses is Ok. I suggest you don't take the risk at all. My motto is if it illegal or if you can't buy it till you are 18+ you shouldn't put it in your body while pregnant.

I have to talk alot for my work so after about 10 days of these symptoms I went to the GP and he gave me Clarithromycin 250mgs bd for 7 days. He said I probably had only a virus but thought it best to make sure as my voice had become very faint and I couldn't swallow due to the pain in my ears. He looked in my ears and said my ear drums were inverted. He also told me to get an appointment for my blood test for Thyroid. I tried to get an appointment but was told it was a 3 week wait.

Heres the deal I am 18 years old, and lately every time I drink alcohol i get horrible stomach pains. They aren't even cramps, it is just horrible pain. With my Anxiety I have always found that drinking helps to relax me a little. I know alcohol will have the adverse effect to the medication that I'm taking and I have always found (before the medication) that going past the 4 unit point will send me into a downward spiral anyway so I'm not I big drinker.

obviously you are overdosing on alcohol... your body is sending you signals to stop drinking... get to an AA meeting... and get a sponsor.

The Cardiologist does not know this, and had told her that she is not allowed to touch alcohol with the condition that she has. However, she continues to drink to excess (for a healthy person), and seems to think that this is not affecting her, because she feels okay. Can you tell me what the likely outcome will be if she continues on this path, and what happens to the heart everytime she has a drinking session, could she have a sudden heart attack??

I don't know what R2500 means but I will assume it means alot of money. I see that your 29, How often do you drink and how much? I would be glad to share some info with you about how to get started on your new quest for sobriety. My main concerns are your detox, since just up and stopping completely can be dangerous and in rare cases become fatal.

I accidentally drank some not too much but acouple gulps of my boyfrinds drink, NO not alcohol, his fruit punch & he had added some of his powder energy shake stuff & I didn't know about it until I tasted it cause it tasted kind of funny, anyway baby will be okay right? 30wks.
