Claritin and Clarinex (they work very differently) might help. Claritin makes me light headed for 30 minutes, raises blood pressure a little but wears off after a few hours. Clarinex works better for me, lasts 14 hours on me. Both are pretty weak for antihistamines. Other than this there is a couple more that use the same med as Claritin, so same effect pretty much. The other antihistamines usually cause drowsyness. Don't know of too many nasal sprays with out steroids.

I'm real confused about allergy symptoms & treatments, I've done alot of research on the internet, but never find what I'm really looking for. Common allergy symptoms are: sneezing, runny nose, itching, watery eyes, hives, rashes. But I never had these symptoms. My symptoms are, stuffy nose, swollen throat, excess mucus production, tight chest occassional difficulty breathing. I do not have Asthma, I am a smoker, had 3 PFT's return normal, breathing at 97%.

my mom has been experiencing this weird outbreak of hives all over her body, and when she has an outbreak it seems to cause severe joint pain,but not in the same joints it kinda travels around.she has been to an allergist but they put her on predisone and clarinex and zantec but as soon as the pred. is done the rash seems to rehash and the clarinex and othe meds seem not to help at all.

Her OB and PCP told her that taking her clarinex was OK. She is miserable without it and right now has a wicked cold. I have been reading now that clarinex is OK to take and other sites saying it is not OK. She is 21 weeks right now. Why would they say it is OK if it isn't? Thanks for any info.

In the meantime, i have switched allergy medication from Clarinex to Xyzal, which may also be helping a little. I now take the allergy medication before bed whereas before, I had been taking Clarinex in the mornings. I notice that the problem of too much mucus seems less prevalent in the mornings upon waking up. It worsens in the afternoon and evening, especially after meals. Have you considered having weekly total calories eaten and expended like WebMD? They also allow for tracking the calories expended doing specific daily activities like sleeping, desk work, shopping, etc. That way you can account for all the calories you burn in one day (not just those related to exercise) and compare them to all the calories you consume. I like their diet tracker very much but I like that Med Help has trackers for my migraines, my mood, etc.

First is the cough from a problem in side or something you are breathing in? A good test I use is a HEPA filted mask. (the kind you can get in the hardware store with canisters). Wearing that for 5 minutes should clear up the mucus quite a bit if it is something you are breathing in. Easy test and takes only 5 minutes. Try a deep breath with the mask on after 5 minutes and see if you still feel like coughing.

Hi! If you are on facebook, check out the Lyme Disease and Wellness page. Those bands are specific for Lyme and unfortunately mainstream doctors and infectious disease doctors will dismiss them. You'd be better off seeing an LLMD or a Naturopathic doctor, which usually isn't covered by insurance unfortunately, but they can help you rather than spinning your wheels. Best of luck!

Has anyone ever had this or has it now? I was looking at WebMD and with my symptoms I've been having, it kind sounds like that may be what I have. My symptoms are frequent heartburn, feeling a pressure on my chest that makes it hard to breathe, and an acidy taste in my mouth.

Look them up on webmd for detailed description. Make sire you have your sic check it out when you go, and maybe see if you can go in early for this if it is really uncomfortable. They are common in general with constipation and with pregnancy for that and other reasons. Tucks and Preparation H will help with the discomfort. Webmd has other suggestions as well. Good luck!

I use use Clarinex which helps a little. Tried Claritin and it did not do anything. Most nasal sprays help, a non steroid nasal spray such as NasalCrom might help too and is gentle with virtually no side effects. I found that allergy shots was the only thing that stopped it for me. I don't use nasal sprays anymore. My rynitis was really bad and clogging my air ways. Now it seems to be almost gone. I get a bit sticky but never more than clearing my throat kind of annoyance.

but i went on webmd and they say some symptoms are....fever,swollen lymp nodes, sore throats, night sweats, confusion...??????? so if your telling me there arent really any symptoms for it then why does webmd state this?

You can look this up on the web. I just googled and look at WEBMD. According to that site, if it you take too much long term, it can have affects like, constipation, upset stomach and kidney stones. I don't see anything about taking it for a short term. If you are concerned, make sure you drink plenty of water. WEBMD suggests 2000IU per day for an adult.

I believe you've already asked this on the webmd herpes board. You got an answer there and you won't get a better answer here I can assure you.

Try googling it. Or look it up on webmd. That is what I did to find out about the new medicine I am on. You can search medications alphabeticaly on webmd and it will give you lots of good info without too much confusing medical terminology. It is hard to say if it works or not, because just about all medicines work for some people and not for others. It seems to be a trial and error sort of thing. Good luck.

What really helped me was Clarinex prescription from my doctor. It doesn't work right away. They do have claritin OTC but it is less strong. It takes a while but then it works after a while and then I hardly had any allergies. Another thing you can try along with this is daily Nasal crom spray. It doesn't harm the nose like other nasal sprays.

I just read on webmd that long walks aren't good. Just take short walks.

Try stopping current contact lens if you have them, try an oral antihistamine like Zyrtec, Claritin, or Clarinex, try an allergy drop like Patenol, Pataday, or Elestat, find out if you have allergies by seeing an allergist, then control any allergens that you are exposed to, see an ophthalmologist to be evaluated for possible oculare allergies, and also to be checked out for dry eyes. I take singulair, clarinex-d and lipo-flavonoid (for ringing in the ear) also the jelly or goo I am seeing happens almost everyday or every other day, every week is different.

My period is 3 days late and today I started having continual sharp pain in my left side that spreads to my uterus. I've looked at WebMD, but nothing I found really sounded like what I have. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Levaquin a a pretty strong broad spectrum antibiotic. I was told it was effective against staff also, when I had a cut on my leg that wasn't healing. There is an article on webmd about leep and side effects. Type leep in the webmd search engine.
